I used my last two beers for beer brats on the grill with visiting fam today and am not really in the mood for wine.

I need to make a beer run as my latest batch of ale isn’t quite ready. Kind of in the mood for a chocolate-y But smooth stout With a nice fruity nose. Gunna have to make another batch Of my PD Stout ale I think as It will be ready around the end of September if I get it going next week.

Yay.

Sounds wonderful.

Enjoy.

I am enjoying an IPA.

How do you rate this ale?

Adequate, and perfectly acceptable.

Let's put it this way: Some of the really good places, the sort of specialist places that stock the sort of artisan, or Trappist, beers that I really like, have not opened their doors since the original lock-down was imposed five months ago.

Thus, in truth, I am in a situation where I am reliant on the beer shelves of local supermarkets to meet my needs, and cannot really insist on the provision of the sort of superb beers that were my daily drinking a year ago.

Just picked these up from Tesco.

London Pride is fine , a 'session' beer, but I do like Old Speckled Hen; it is a very nicely crafted and well balanced ale.

Please do let me know what you think of Old Crafty Hen; I've never yet seen it, but have been trying to persuade the owner of my local supermarket to stock it, as it looks intriguing.

The other two beers, I do not know, but would welcome your thoughts.

Do enjoy.

As it's spring here in Western Australia (warmer than most northern hemisphere countries) it would be rude not to share tonights tipple. All the way from California's coast - Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay

That sounds like a good idea. I haven't had rosé in a while, will add that to my shopping list.

To be honest, - to my mind (and palate) it is a summer wine; frankly, there is almost nothing better with a (really good) Salade Niçoise, and I suspect that it would flatter (and go very well with) any dish that calls for a firm white fish.
