Well as I mentioned in a slightly tipsy post on the "What's on your mind" thread last night I had a couple of pints of "Cuvée des Trolls" a lovely Belgian beer on tap at a favourite pub of mine. Outdoor dining/drinking etc. is now permitted, and honestly in spring/summer/fall is my preferred option in any case.

Sounds brilliant and I hope that you enjoyed it.

Another excellent Meursault, said to be the favorite of Thomas Jefferson. lovely and exquisite. Goes very well with Roquefort and here, some Comté.

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Embazées 2016 from Domaine Moillard

Unfortunately, the cork broke into pieces. I’m getting a refund so we are getting a different one. Let’s see what they have in store, maybe something different this time.

The cork maybe dried out due to the bottle not stored (by the shop) properly on its side.

Ah, yes.

This can be a rather frustrating experience, but is inexcusable when it occurs with expensive fine wines; for what it is worth, several years ago, I had the exact same experience with a few bottles of Barsac, and yes, eventually, I was refunded.

A bottle of Grand Ardèche 2018 by Louis Latour.

This is very surprising because it doesn’t come from Burgundy but Ardèche, not a very popular region for wine. But there is clearly the experience of the Maison on creating this beautiful wine.

You’ll find similar notes of oak, vanilla & butter from Grands Vins de Bourgogne but very cheap!

I highly recommend it.

Sounds amazing; hadn't known that you could lay hands on good (if under-appreciated) wine from Ardèche.

Currently sipping a Spaten beer from Munich.

I bought my first wine cellar from HAIER. It’s a connected one: you scan your bottles and it’s powered by Vivino to automatically detect them. It’s fun but the app is not great. I tried several times before managing to connect it. Here are some pictures:

Anyone has something similar?

I had a Marvel unit, and it died. Everything in it froze solid, and I had a couple bottles break inside it. It was not repairable because they didn't make it with ports to unload the refrigerant and replace the sensors. While it was an amazing unit, I was disgusted that it wasn't made to be fixed. I replaced it with one that uses butane for a refrigerant. That idea kinda freaked me out, but it's supposed to be safer than the Freon variants. The new one has more structured shelves, which makes larger bottles harder to fit inside it.

le vin c'est la vie
