That’s a scary account you’ve got there. The support couldn’t help? I don’t know this brand, is it in the US?

If you were referring to my post, Marvel is an American company, but what company is truly 'American' these days.

Their 'support' offered to sell me a 'refurbishment kit' for more than the thing cost in the beginning. Basically, as it was described, the entire 'refrigerator assembly' is removed, and a new 'unit' is inserted. So basially it's replacing everything except the walls, and door. The problem is a sensor that is stuck, but to replace it, the refrigerant has to be removed, the sensor has to be replaced, and the system 'recharged'. Probably total time to repair is about an hour-ish, but since the system doesn't have any ports in the Freon system, the system would have to be 'broken' to drain it, and ports would have to be added, and then the sensor could be replaced, yadda yadda... It would take HOURS, and there is a concern that the tubing they used is 'non-standard'. Yeah, I was pissed... What a jerk company...

PLUS how do they meet the requirements to recycle Freon on older units when they die. 'Oh, heck, why make this fixable! We will make more money by selling those suckers a new unit!' Except that I did not by a Marvel replacement. Bite me Marvel!!!

Thank you @Scepticalscribe. I really wish I could share it with you or anyone around here. I remember traveling to Ireland and just sharing a bottle of Meursault. That evening, everyone had an epiphany. As a French (I plead guilty), living abroad for just a third of my life….that wine brought so much in term of friendship or business. Truly, I wish I have the opportunity to let people try it. Astonishing wine. Looking at the reactions of people drinking it, it’s just flabbergasting.
here the one I just opened.

I, too, experienced an epiphany when I first tasted Meursault, - divine nectar - in the basement of a sixteenth century house, where the owner of the small wine shop where I purchase most of my wine, hosted a small, private, party in the summer of 2013, (I was home on leave from a foreign posting at the time) to introduce some of his favourite seriously special (and rare) wines to a few select customers, wines we wouldn't have risked, or sampled, or tried on our own.

And that was when I was introduced to the sublime wine that is Meursault.

(Barsac was another wine I made the acquaintance of, that night).

Until then, I had mostly drunk red wine, and favoured the rich, smooth, highly alcoholic wines of Italy and Spain, the good wines.

And Meursault was the first time in my life that I encountered a white wine that was easily the match in terms of quality of the reds - such as Amarone - that I regularly consumed at the time.

Until then, I had mostly disdained white wines - much of which comprised either thin stuff from New Zealand or over-oaked Chardonnays - but that evening was an epiphany, when I met some of the great white wines of France.

However, ever since, my preferences have increasingly inclined towards the consumption of white wines, and I adore Meursault, which, as I may have already mentioned, is probably my favourite wine of all.

J Lohr Arroyo Seco Monterey Chardonnay (2019). It's working well on this Friday night.

It's so hard to wreck a white wine. Not that they are bad, but I've had too many destroyed red wines. I had two Jack London Cabs that were rendered even bad parts cleaner by a brain dead reseller, tragically. They should have gotten life in prison!

I just have to add that the 'Best Wine I've Ever Had', was the wine that I got from a small vineyard in 'the valley', and had my personally designed label. It was a knock-out! I had 2 cases of 'personal wine', a really amazing Merlot. I dropped off a few bottles to business people I knew and depended on, and a few for family and close friends.

Ah, but do I have pictures of the label? For some reason, I guess I forgot. I can't find a single image showing the label closely enough to make it worth posting. But there are some incredible wineries were you can design your own labels, and they will print them, and you can 'own your own vintage'. (The minimum was 2 cases, some vineyards require higher, or lower minimums) I'd recommend it. Friends were so blown away. (I also got to bottle and cork the bottles and watch MY labels being applied. So cool!) This was pre-COVID, but I'd bet, once things smooth out, it'll be possible to do this again.

EDIT: Oh, this wasn't ridiculously expensive either. I was part of a group, but some vineyards will do cases with custom labels.
