Thanks so much!! Really very, very excited!!!

Just updated iPhone version to 4.4.39 via the iOS App Store Germany and it didn't update the Watch app automatically. I then went to the Watch App Store but the latest available version there is still 4.3... Could it be that it will take some time until it's showing up everywhere?
Same for me. When looking for update, AW said: no update. Then I did a search in the AppStore on AW and was able to update the app. Now on 4.4.39 on both devices and already paired my Stryd.
Too bad I was already running today and a thunderstorm is expected here in the next hour. Got to wait until tomorrow.

That's not good to hear. I would wait until it appears on the watch App Store. It takes a while to get through Apple's systems.

Looks like I will get a lot of people with problems because the watch app has not updated. I suspect that it is because the app is considered "independent", which means it can run on the watch without the iPhone, but I don't know why it doesn't update both at the same time. Apple logic I guess.
Just got it to work:

I switched off 'Show App on Apple Watch' in the Watch App under WorkOutDoors which removed the app from the watch. Then I flicked it back to on again, and it then downloaded the new version to the watch.

It looks beautiful on the bigger screen... and I'm off for a run!! Thanks so much, Ian!! :)

The problem with that approach is that it loses the data in the watch app, so it is better to install from the App Store on the watch.

Glad you got it working and it looks good though!

Yes, I noticed that... The price of impatience... :) I have my Screens & Profiles backed up though, so will try and sent these to the watch now...

That should work. You can also Send Yesterday's Settings on the same screen (the File Management screen on the Settings tab).

It is on my list but currently not as high as always on display; turn by turn directions; interval schedule importing etc.
As the person who requested Multisport mode, I approve. AOD, navigation, and interval schedule importing are all AMAZING.

Tested out a run with Stryd this morning. Worked really well! One thing my Garmin does that I really like is show the lower/upper bounds of the target zone. Is this possible at all? Like Low-Current-High: 200-214-225, for example, where the lower/upper bounds could be shown in small text and the current power could be emphasized.

So awesome having power workouts in WOD now. Thanks for all the hard work!

Thanks for the latest update with AW7 support! Perhaps just a little cosmetic change could be made regarding the GPS strength in numbers… :) See attached photo.

Another thing I wanted to discuss was the “Search” option on the iPhone app. I think it would be more convenient if you just included a classic iOS search field at the top of the Workouts tab for quick searches, and included the “advanced search” icon next to it for those seeking to perform specific types of searches…

I did the same thing and everything seems to be working!! I have not gone for a run yet today either! So I will be testing it out shortly!!

Yeah, same here. Usually it takes a while for the AW to also update the apps in general once the update has already been done on iPhone.

To make sure you get the latest app update on the AW after you update on iPhone, you have to update it manually by going to the AW App Store, then searching for the app, tapping on it and then the “Update” button will show up.

I did that, thank you, but it hadn't shown up in the App Store on the watch yet...

Glad the run with Stryd went well. You can show the target low and high in their own separate metrics but there isn't a metric with 3 values. I may allow more complex metrics such as this in the future, but only for full width fields.

You can change that in the Map settings. By default it is a 5 bar meter, so you probably changed it to use numbers in the past.

Adding search for workouts (and routes) is on my to-do list for the future.

One question about sensor support: what is the benefit pairing a HR sensor via WOD compared to pairing it to the AW Bluetooth settings?

The app can get heart rate variability from some sensors, which can be displayed in the watch app during a workout or analysed after the workout.

However watchOS only allows 2 sensors across all third party apps, so if you want 3 sensors and one of them is an HR sensor, then you can only achieve this by connecting the HR sensor via watchOS (as in the past).

How does one go from testing (TestFlight) to just using the App Store version. Or I guess I could just keep on being a beta tester. Works for me!

Can the HR sampling rate be configured in WOD? If it's connected to an HRM?

Well, actually I've been using the numerical display instead of bars because I prefer to see the actual accuracy by meter rather than bars. What is the bar to numbers scale, by the way? 5 bar ... <5m? 4 bar ...<10m?

You can either keep using the beta (which is valid for 3 months) or just install the release version from the App Store as usual and it will just overwrite the beta and keep all your data.

However there is a good chance that I will be releasing another beta soon if there are problems!

You cannot change the sampling rate. Sorry about that.

5 bars: <= 8m.
4 bars: <= 16m
3 bars: <= 34m
2 bars: <= 150m
1 bar: <= 500m
0 bars: > 500m

It's a bit arbitrary based on fine tuning over the years, so may change in the future.

Really? I couldn't find it as an option. Screens > Power profile > Categories > Power with Intervals filter.

Tap on Power to deselect it and you should see Interval Target High and Interval Target Low.

It is not a power-specific field because the target can be a heart rate range, a pace/speed range, or a cadence range, rather than a power range.

The apps look really good Ian. The power sensors will export bike power correctly to strava right? As long as I choose it as a bike ride? And I didn't quite understand but is the "possibly travelling home" alert for people getting in their car and going really fast?

Yes, if you are using a bike power sensor then the power will be included in the FIT or TCX files that are sent to Strava.

The "Possibly Travelling" alert is intended to detect when you have finished workout but not told the app. It should work for cars, trains etc. I have also added the new "Back at Start" alert for the same reason.
