@cfc I tried today again by putting all the "time in pace zone 0/1/2/3/etc..." metrics in one screen in the watch. None of them work (the numbers that appear seem random). Are you able to reproduce this?
They aren’t quite random but they aren’t correct either. Sorry about that. I looked into it after your post and have fixed it in the code so it should be ok in the next version.

Active calories and calories.
Are these counted the same as Apple or do you use another way to count these metrics.
I find that Apple and Garmin are pretty close to each other in these counts.

WOD uses Apple’s workout system, which provides the calorie estimates, so it should show the same values as Apple’s native app.

Thanks. Do you have an estimated release date for the next version?

It depends on how long it takes to code up the new action button on the Ultra. The next version is mainly about that but will include whatever fixes and changes I make in the meantime.

Got the 7-workout week badge again. And again all of my workouts were WOD outdoor walking. I checked, and all are being synced with my phone. Maybe there really is a change with iOS 16, since Fitness+ no longer requires a watch.

why not use find my, that's how my wife follow me on track
Off course you need both iphone
Or https://find.iCloud.com

I’ve written apps to pull the location and battery level of devices from this site which is easy due to the fact that 2FA isn’t needed for this particular URL. Theoretically a 3rd party could write an app to poll the location on an interval and plot it on a map similar to how LiveTrack does. The advantage would be that no app would be needed on the watch. Apple would probably defeat it if it gained popularity though.

Edit: For the hell of it I created a little web app that plots the location of my watch on a map (using leafletjs) as long as you are sitting on the page. Just a super simple proof of concept. Looks like the location typically updates every 2 minutes and randomly throws in an update after just 30secs. So not perfect but something.

When clicking on ”Show Lap Paces” after a run/cycle in WOD on the watch after the update, I no longer see any Zone info: the KM/H and the Zone tabs display the same info, namely the KM/H numbers. Bug?

Yes, the pace summary screen on the watch doesn't change to show zones when the zone tab is tapped, which is a bug. Thanks for spotting that. I will fix it in the next version.

However the pace zones are new to this version, so it has never showed zones on that screen in previous versions.

I can't explain it then. What country are you in? The default Siri voice depends on the country and maybe Apple have changed it for your country in watchOS 9. What voice do you hear when you use Siri on the watch?

Has anyone else noticed any voice changes?
yes, i also hear a very robotic voice, despite not having made any changes except for updating phone and watch versions and the app auto updating

I am considering a compromise solution for turn by turn where WorkOutDoors will only provide directions if they are contained in the GPX route file. Komoot are one of the many places that can generate GPX files with directions, so it hopefully wouldn't be too much of a limitation.
I use komoot to make all routes, so this would be perfect at least for me hahaha!

Got the Ultra. WorkOutDoors appears to be working great. Unsure if the red background to the <Back button is intended though. I don't remember it before.

Potential feature idea. I redownloaded all the tiles on the Ultra. Could WoD auto-download the tiles based on the routes I've put on the watch? That way a user could add a route, and the tiles would auto-download?

I just found the map customisation options. Insane.

4 people have now mentioned this but I can't spot a pattern. Rebooting the watch fixed it for 2 of them so please try that.

I noticed the red background on that button in Map Only mode, which surprised me too. I will look into it.

You can send the tiles required for a route by selecting the route in the iPhone app and then tapping Send Map button in the bottom right. Note that the button only appears when a route has been sent to the watch.

Hi Ian, I received my ultra today and I can t send the screens and the settings from my iPhone. I got a message it will take a few minutes but nothing. Reboot iPhone and ultra but it doesn’t work. Can’t recover my schedules etc … an idea ?

Just upgraded from a Series 6 LTE to the new Ultra. So far, WOD is working great and looks beautiful on the screen. Finally feel like I can do my runs without both an Apple watch & Garmin! Looking forward to using WOD & the Ultra for the Chicago Marathon. I think the app will be almost perfect once AOD is available. The only race feature that I'll miss from a Garmin would be the PacePro feature or using a GPS route to grade projected finish times or +/- to goal. I've noticed in other comments that it's on your list and will be looking forward to the addition down the road.

When ETA and remaining time/distance is available in WOD, then my Garmin can be replaced.

Livetracking would be fine too 👍

I have the same robotic voice, I live in the Netherlands but Siri is always in English. A reboot didn’t solve the problem. Can I do anything to help? Make a dumpfile or log file or something like that?

Man, every feature I request you've basically done it already. Awesome job - again.

For @cfc reference, I set my watch up as a new watch (no settings carried over) and these features do work. Unsure if that's helpful or not.

It's a great app but without AOD (always on display) it's not really good at the moment.
Please support the action button on the Apple Watch ultra when it's possible.
The app is great and can easily replace any Garmin out there

If rebooting doesn't work then I suspect that you have another app that is sending a large data file to the watch and so WOD has to wait until that is finished. This is especially likely with a new setup because many apps are trying to send data to the watch.

Give it a few hours (maybe longer if there is a lot of data to transfer) and then try again.

If that doesn't work then try uninstalling the watch app (not the iPhone app); rebooting both devices; and then installing again in case there was a problem with the installation.

Unfortunately I doubt there is much I can do about it. WOD simply tells watchOS to speak a phrase and watchOS does the rest by using the Siri system. The app tells watchOS which voice to use, the volume etc but nothing in that code has changed and if worked for watchOS 8 and doesn't for watchOS 9 then it sounds like watchOS 9 has broken something. It is strange that it only affects a few people though, especially as they use different voices.

Does it help if you try a different English voice in the app's Voice settings? For example the US voice or the UK voice.
