Thanks for the heads up. I love his videos. I contacted him a couple of days ago and he is now using the latest beta with the action button functionality.Mark Lewis has a new video up and comments on WorkOutDoors. Might be good cfc to get in contact and let him know about the upcoming updates.
Apple Health always shows Apple's distance estimates. Have you maybe configured WOD to use GPS for distance, or were you maybe using a sensor for distance?Today I noticed that the recorded distance in WOD and Strava is longer that in Health.
Why?

It's up to you. Go for whichever you feel is more accurate. The app defaults to using Apple's calibrated distances because they can handle tunnels etc, but GPS is better for some people who find that Apple's distances don't work well for them. However in either case Apple will show their distances in their apps.I use gps for distanzieren and the pedometer for pace.
Should I switch to Apple for distance?
Currently GPX routes are simply displayed and you are warned when you deviate from them. There is no concept of following them, so the app cannot show your position on an elevation graph, or the remaining distance or time. Sorry about that. Those metrics are for use when using a fixed length workout or an interval schedule where it is possible to calculate the remaining distance.Hi - what do I need to do to get a remaining distance to display? Im following a GPX route but get N/A in the Distance Remaining field. Thx
Got it! Thanks, been reading backwards and looks like some great stuff coming down the line.Currently GPX routes are simply displayed and you are warned when you deviate from them. I plan to enhance the route and navigation functionality in a future version to allow this. At the moment it is joint top of my to-do list for the version after next.
In the meantime you could start the workout and enter the route length as the fixed distance. If you only follow the route then this will give a rough estimate but not as good as when I have implemented it properly. To enter a fixed distance tap the circle with 3 dots to the right of the activity name. Then tap “Fixed Length” and then “Set Distance”.
Same for Heart Rate Zones! For example it would be awesome to be able to rename them to follow the 80/20 naming conventionsIs there a way to edit Running Pace zones names and add or remove zones? In my training I use 7 zones and call them different things. Being able to match my training with the name would make it easier. If not is this something that might be a feature in the future? Thank you
I may allow that in the future, but I have just added the pace and power zones and reworked the heart zones, so I probably won't be revisiting that area of the code in the near future. Some systems require 7 zones (or even more). And those who don't need all 7 can set zones to unrealistic levels if required. Why are there 7 Zones? 5 Zones are normal.
No problem, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thank youI may allow that in the future, but I have just added the pace and power zones and reworked the heart zones, so I probably won't be revisiting that area of the code in the near future. Sorry about that.

I know of a few off the top of my head but I know I have seen more. Peleton, 80/20 Endurance, Jeff Wrinkler. I know 5 is standard but have seen more lately start splitting it up more.Which systems are these? I have been a runner for 15 years and I only know the 5 Zones.
This is actually the common division and standard.
Just longer. It uses a different haptic type, which involves just a long vibration.Hi, @cfc . I just saw there is a new option in the Workoutdoors beta that just got released called Long Vibration Haptics. I was wondering if enabling this will make the vibration stronger or the difference is that the vibration just lasts longer.
That sort of functionality is in my plans for the new navigation features but not one of the main priorities. So it may be included in the first version with navigation improvements or it may not. Sorry to be so vague but it depends on how things go when I code it.Hi!
Thank you for making and actively maintaining this fantastic app with a great price model!
I understand that Garmin like routing “on the fly” would be nice, but it would for sure be a complex task to make the routing algorithm from scratch.
On the other hand it would be very nice with a way to store waypoints in the app (like Garmin Express), and the have to ability to select a waypoint “on the fly”. The navigation to this waypoint could just be a direct course displayed on the map with a compass or similar. It would be nice to spontaneously select a waypoint on a hike and see the direction and “bird distance”!
Sounds good mate! I understand that things takes time 👍That sort of functionality is in my plans for the new navigation features but not one of the main priorities.
