The app stores the Stryd distances in Apple's Health system. If I buy a Stryd pod and connect it to WOD for indoor treadmill runs, will the distance and pace data that shows up in Apple fitness be the data from the Stryd or the inaccurate apple Watch indoor running data?
Hey thanks for that. This is the best I get on my watch, and in some circumstances it is not very easy to read the hour. I would suggest that the black background should be a bit bigger and maybe rectangular shaped to improve the readability.Hi, under Settings -> Maps -> Time Background -> you can choose between "None" / "Grey" / "Black".![]()
I think the reason it doesn't stretch to the hour is because you are using the bold font. The app tries to cover as little of the map as possible and I never tested the app with the bold font. Sorry about that.Hey thanks for that. This is the best I get on my watch, and in some circumstances it is not very easy to read the hour. So your watch simply is not calibrated, which explains basically all the problems you have with the WOD-App…
Perhaps you should do a few longer runs or walks with the native app when you are outside, before you use the WOD-App again.
No, you cannot edit the distance after a workout (or anything else). Sorry about that.@cfc
Is there a way to edit the distance from a recorded Run in WOD?
I set pause during the run and I lost 2 KM recording.
Someone else mentioned that recently, so I will probably add some sort of x2 calibration factor in the future (as you say like with cadence). However it won't be high priority as so few people have requested it. So unless more people ask for it then I will probably wait until I revisit sensor functionality, which won't be for a while. Sorry about that.Hi !!! Just a quick question concerning cycling activity.
I have a pedal based power meter on my bike, that means that my pedals measure power on both sides. ie. If I am outputting 200w it could be 100w each side, or 95left and 105 right and so on...
The problem is that I can only set one side in the app, so my power is showing just half of the normal value. Is there any way to use both pedals, or at least multiply one of the sides by 2 ( like we can do with the cadence).
Regards !!
I really don't know the reason. It could be that most of them are using single sided power meters. So the value is sent already doubled. Or they could be using a smart trainer. I have ready somewhere, if you take a battery of one side then the firmware on the pedal would interpret this as single sided power meter and broadcast the doubled value. Have never tried that tough.Someone else mentioned that recently, so I will probably add some sort of x2 calibration factor in the future (as you say like with cadence). I am surprised that more people haven't asked for it. Is that because most double pedal power sensors have some sort of ability to be configured for single pedal usage? Or do most people only use single pedal sensors?
I have never tried the watch app but have been recommending the iPhone app for a while. Looks like the watch app is pretty good too so I will have to try it out at some time.
Sorry - that is a bug. I hadn't noticed that the ascent metric was not available in the list of metrics that can be displayed or spoken when an alert is triggered. I will fix it in the next version.Hello cfc,
first of all, thank you very much for this really great app. It's one of the most important apps on my watch. I've chosen the Apple Watch Ultra over a Garmin Epix 2, because I like WOD so much.
I'm writing because somehow I am not able to select "Ascent (total)" from the elevation metrics, when configuring an Ascent alert (in my case I'm editing "screen metric 1"). However, "Ascent (total)" is available when configuring a "Status report". Therefore I think it's nothing serious.
Once again, thank you very much.
Btw: Can't wait to see the upcoming versions with navigation metrics one day. Hopefully not too far away ;-) I wouldn't mind to pay something extra for a kind of "Pro Version with Navigation". Would just be fair.
Kind regards
Pat
You may have a very rare bug in iOS / watchOS where the workout file gets corrupted when it is sent from the watch to the phone.Hello
Tried to launch WOD on my iPhone 11 on 16.2 and it does not launch. Rebooted both phone and AW8 and still doesn’t launch. Any ideas or known bug? Thx
Thanks for the response. I started in safe mode, deleted the top workout and restarted app. Still doesn’t work when going back to normal mode. I did two workouts today so deleted the second workout in safe mode, switched back to normal mode and still doesn’t work. Also rebooted the iPhone again. Any other ideas? You may have a very rare bug in iOS / watchOS where the workout file gets corrupted when it is sent from the watch to the phone.
The way to fix it is to switch the app into Safe Mode and delete the offending workout. To do this go to Apple's Settings app on the iPhone and tap WorkOutDoors and then Start in Safe Mode. This will prevent the app from trying to process any received files when it starts up. You can then delete the top workout by swiping left. Then disable Safe Mode and the app should start correctly.
You can then go to the Workout History on the watch app and select that workout and tap Resend to iPhone. This will make the workout visible again in the iPhone app. The fact that resending the same file works is what makes me think that the problem was a data corruption when it was first sent.
I hope that helps.
Any news on this feature (broadcasting the heart rate via bluetooth from iphone WOD app). Using apps like heartcast works fine but prevents from running WOD at the same time in workout mode and recording my cycling session.No-one has ever asked for that before but I can see why you would want it with your setup. However my current plan is focussed on receiving data from sensors rather than in broadcasting sensor data to other devices.
Sorry about that, but I will certainly bear it in mind for the future.
It's probably an earlier workout then. If you haven't looked at the iPhone app for a while then it could be any of them. Maybe look for the first one without an icon of a map or graph next to it.Thanks for the response. Someone asked about that today, which was the first time in many months that it has been requested. I don't think that watchOS allows apps to act as "peripherals". iOS allows them to act as both "centrals" and peripherals but my understanding is that watchOS only allows an app to be a "central" (which listens to peripherals).Any news on this feature (broadcasting the heart rate via bluetooth from iphone WOD app). I want to use the Apple Watch heart rate for my indoor cycling with smart-trainer (Elite Suito) and software FulGaz.
Interestingly enough, none of the workouts have graphs next to them now. This wasn’t the case before. I probably have 100 or so WOD workouts here. Should I just delete them all? They’re all duplicate anyway as the golden source is Apple Health, correct? I just don’t want to lose any Apple Health data here as I use apps like HealthFit to view my historical workout trendsIt's probably an earlier workout then. I have never heard of that. How often do you check the iPhone app? The corruption could have happened at any time since the last time you looked at it.Interestingly enough, none of the workouts have graphs next to them now. This wasn’t the case before. I don’t check WOD that often on iPhone (used daily on watch) but I did check last week on iPhone as I was changing data screens. I will delete one by one as you say and keep trying. Why do you say it’s not good to lose the workouts from WOD? Isn’t the golden source Apple Health and as such WOD is just redundant data?I have never heard of that. One way to check is to look at each workout and see which one causes the app to crash. Safe Mode only prevents them being examined when you start the app but the file will be opened when you tap the workout for details. So you should be able to find out which one is corrupted and then delete it.
All workouts are stored in Apple's Health system but it would be good not to lose them from WOD, so it is worth determining which one is the offender.
It is subjective. Some people prefer to analyse their workouts in Apple's Health system, some in WOD, and some in an external system like Strava, Garmin, etc. And some probably don't care because they just want to see live metrics or a map during the workout.I don’t check WOD that often on iPhone (used daily on watch) but I did check last week on iPhone as I was changing data screens. Ok. Presume I can just resync the workouts again from the watch to the phone to restore to the WOD app?It is subjective. For example cyclists who use power sensors probably don't analyse the workouts in Apple's Health system because that does not store power for cycling (and didn't store it for running until recently). So WOD or a third party system is better for them.
Don't delete the workouts - just try opening them until the app crashes and then that is the corrupted workout. Then open the app again and delete that workout. And then switch off safe mode.
The watch only stores the most recent 50 workouts (to save space) but you can send them to the phone individually by going to the Workout History, selecting one to send and then tapping Resend to iPhone.Ok.
