Today I noticed that I wasn’t able to send new interval schedules or routes to the Apple Watch. Restarted both devices, but that didn’t work. Apart from that the app works as perfect as ever.
iPhone 12 Mini
iOS 16.0
Apple Watch Ultra 1
WatchOS 9.3.1
WOD 5.2 (6) (beta)
Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Or should I update to iOS 17 and WatchOS10 and try again?
Firstly check that Bluetooth is enabled on both the watch and the iPhone.
As rebooting hasn’t worked then you may have another app that started sending a large data file and which is still transferring, in which case WorkOutDoors needs to wait. Sometimes this can happen without you knowing about it. For example the stock Podcast app on the iPhone mirrors all its podcasts to the watch even if you do not use the Podcast app on the watch. Unfortunately it is impossible to know what apps are sending data to the watch.
It is also worth checking how much storage is available on the watch. Apple only allow 25% of the total storage for "media", so your watch could be full without you realising it. To check this go to Apple's Watch app on the iPhone and tap General and then Storage.
If that is ok, and rebooting doesn’t work, and you have waited several hours then the next thing to try is to uninstall the watch app (not the iPhone app); reboot both devices; and then reinstall the watch app.
If that doesn’t work then the next thing to try is to un-pair the watch and re-pair it.
In the past this was the most common complaint about the app, but it happens less often these days, so I think Apple have improved things. However when it does go wrong these days then unpairing/re-pairing is usually necessary if rebooting hasn’t worked.
I hope that helps. The app uses the standard iOS/watchOS mechanism to transfer data and that sometimes gets confused or is busy transferring data for another app.
