Not sure if I am doing something wrong but for the past two runs where I am wearing gloves, the app will close while im in the middle of a run. I have the crown dial facing my finger tips and the only thing I can think of is maybe the glove is spinning the dial and closing the app or ending it? Sometimes when I am recording from my phone and using the watch as a viewer, the dial will rotate where the zoom is affected so I am sure the dial is being rotated while I am running. Is there a setting by chance that is making the app close when the dial is pressed or spinned? Again, its not that the WOD minimizes to background, it completely closes and when I open it, its asking if I would like to start tracking a run after I had already started it. or Maybe its a bug that some have experienced as well?

Im on the latest version.
That doesn't sound good. Try rebooting the watch before using the app again.

Also please could you send me the wkt file for those workouts and I will take a look. To do this tap the Export button 3 times quickly and send to info@workoutdoors.net

What is interesting is that both times, the initial run that was lost popped up as "Recovered" but I would have ran another mile or so before I even looked down and realized so alot of the run was missing. I had never seen this before I updated to latest version. Just sent the files.

Thanks for the files. It looks like the app crashed both times. Crashes are extremely rare but you are using the first beta of watchOS 10.2, so I suspect that may be the problem.

Is anyone else using the first beta of watchOS 10.2? I really hope that it doesn't cause as much trouble for the app as watchOS 10.1 has.

Similar issue as that shown on the right hand image. Complication shows as a blank circle (sans icon). Still functions just fine. Will see if it changes after tomorrow am workout.

Update: I managed/ edited the face complication straight from the watch (Ultra2) (Not from the iPhone app) and it now shows the graphic of the icon properly.
Hey thanks! I use AWU and had the WOD complication/icon disappear a few weeks ago as well, although didn't really make a difference to me, as I could still click the blank spot where the icon normally is and launch WOD. Anyway, your fix also worked for me. No icon since the updates. Today, edit the face inside the watch, not from the phone, and the graphic of the icon is back. Cool

This or something similar appears to have happened during my workout today. I will send the wkt file for the recovered workout to info@workoutdoors.net. This is with watchOS 10.1, not the beta.

Impressive battery life today on my first long ride using WOD.

AW7 running 10.1
Battery health 98%
I had my phone with me the whole ride
Watch on low power mode
Bluetooth wheel speed sensor
Elapsed time 6:55
Ride time 4:53
97% battery at the start
57% at the end

Next long ride I’ll leave the phone behind to see how that impacts the battery drain.

I was worried I’d see much more drain due to the wheel speed sensor, but it doesn’t seem to have much impact.

It was great to have all the extended stats and info WOD provides on a big ride.

Hi, Is it possible to change the way time is displayed? Because I can't find information about the display of the end time within the app. During the training process, it's possible to use 'pause', so the training time and the elapsed time are not the same.

That is excellent battery life. To only use 40% battery on an AW7 for a 5 hour workout (plus 2 hours paused) with a Bluetooth sensor is great to hear!

Another video on WorkOutDoors!! If you are a normal user you will probably not learn anything new, but watch and like to spread the word!!

That is an excellent video. One of the most informative and enthusiastic videos that I have seen about the app. Thanks for the heads up!

The end time is very rarely requested. It is possible to see it but not easily. You can swipe along the profile below the map and at shows the metrics for the position of your finger, including the time at the top. So if you swipe to the far right then it will show the end time.

Obviously this isn't ideal, so I will think about where I could show it in the future.

Is it possible to change the order of the different kinds of workouts on the watch?

(Edited to clarify my question)

The activities are automatically ordered by last used time, so your most common activities should appear at the top after you use them.

However you can move activities from the main menu of the watch app to the Other Activities menu by using the Menus option in the Settings.

I was wondering is it possible to make crown change volume?
I mean when I'm running marathon (IRL: walking to shop near me) and running WOD and listening music with my airpods pro it would be nice to easily change volume with the corwn.
I have feeling that it's already possible somehow or apple doesn't let you do that feature?

I am not sure if that is possible, but I could be wrong. Apple allow third party apps to display volume controls (or the full now playing screen), but I don't think there is a way for the app to control the volume of the watch without them.

It may be possible by somehow hacking the volume controls (e.g. by hiding them and making them think they have been tapped), but even if that is possible then it is likely to break in future versions, so I wouldn't use it.

Hi @cfc ,

I've just switched to a new iPhone, and I would like to transfer all my activities from my iPhone X to my new iPhone 13. I wanted to know if it's possible to clone the data (activities, interval Schadules, etc.) from my old device to the new one.

Thanks in advance for your response.

If you did not restore from a full backup of the old phone then you can use Apple's File Sharing to copy the data from the old phone to a computer and then to copy it from there to the new phone:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301 (Windows)
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210598 (MacOS)

You can copy all the files and directories or just the data that you want to preserve.

Hi @cfc , do you plan implement import TrainingPeaks workouts (or .fit workouts) to Workoutdoors training interval schedulers?

Congrats for your awesome work!

Importing schedules from FIT files is on my to-do list. I have coded it up to work with the current interval schedules, but they don’t yet support nested repeat loops.

I asked on these forums a few months back and most people said there would be complaints if I released without supporting nested repeats. So I decided to hold fire because nested loops would take a while to implement and there are higher priorities at the moment.

However watchOS does not allow nested loops in structured workouts either and watchOS 10 allows other systems to send it workouts. So the nested loop restriction doesn't sound too bad now.

My current plan is to wait and see how Training Peaks and other systems utilise the new watchOS 10 schedule importing and then decide what to do.

Glad you like the app!

Final Surge does "flatten" nested loops when syncing to watchOS 10. Works great and is perfectly usable.
E.g. I did yesterday a workout 3x(4x200m/200m, 4 mins jog). Was a lot of steps, but great.

To be honest I didn't even consider flattening the nested loops. That would make things easier. I will bear it in mind when I look into that again. Thanks.
