Ok, this sounds good. Hope it improves. What makes me wonder are the following very ugly recordings.
Tree cover was very light, btw. Two examples:

1) Left is my way back on the route where the track is quite good, right is the track on the first half which is very ugly:

2) I was running along a road with almost no tree cover and the track was horrible, right after I paused and resumed:

Il also have these horrible tracks when I use my S5 LTE.
It seems that when I run with LTE ON (and without phone), the GPS accuracy is terrible.
I don't have made a lot of tests to be sure, but it seems it's better with LTE off ... and it's a shame ...
Maybe it uses LTE localization when the GPS accuracy is poor ?
I am really disappointed with my S5, my old S2 hasn't such issues.
Is it a software issue ?
My S5 has been replaced, but it's still the same.

I suspect that it is due to iOS 13 and/or watchOS 6. Both are very unreliable. I have noticed that my tracks are not as good as they were previously, even when the watch is reporting good accuracy. Hopefully iOS 13.2 and watchOS 6.1 will improve things.

Is there a plan for a feature to auto upload new workouts to strava after completion? Zwift and strava’s native app do this, and it is nice to not have to manually export to strata after every workout.

Yes, I will do this at some time. I wanted to start simple first and only switch to making it automatic when it had been working reliably for a while.

I was going to upload automatically with the latest version but that now uses TCX files by default instead of GPX files, so I want to see how that goes first before automating.

Would it be possible at all to get a demo/trial for 24h please?

Unfortunately Apple do not allow that via the App Store. Hopefully they will add it at some time in the future. Sorry about that.

What about SUP support? I SUP a lot and the available apps are really crappy.

The app offers a Paddling workout, which should be suitable for SUP. Apple describe it as being for "canoeing, kayaking, paddling an outrigger, paddling a stand-up paddle board, and related sports". Hope that helps.

Hi, my wife was horseriding this afternoon and had workoutdoors running for tracking. The AW2 had not been fully charged and went in low battery mode after 3 hrs. Any chance to recover the workout?

If the battery ran out then the workout should still be available in Apple's Activity and Health apps.

Thx, sorry, was not clear, what we are missing is the GPS of the tour for displaying on the map. And does / can wod not keep an uncompleted workout in the history?

Unfortunately watchOS preserves the workout details in the event of the battery running out, but it does not preserve the route. Sorry about that.

I may add some sort of preservation in the app in the future but it would use some battery power. To be honest I don't want to duplicate what watchOS already does, even if that doesn't save the route.

The app has battery alerts, so you can configure it to warn you every time the battery level drops by 1%, starting at a configurable level (which defaults to 10%). Hopefully if you use this then you can end the workout before the battery runs out.

Swimming in this real thing...
1st all I love your app. It’s made my AW a perfect running watch for me. One thing I find annoying though is I listen to Podcasts using Overcast on my watch. When WOD provides an audio alert (which I LOVE) it pauses the podcast but it doesn’t auto resume it. I have to go to Now Playing and hit play. Is there anyway to fix that? I used to run with RunKeeper and it didn’t have that issue.

Sorry about that. This will be fixed in the next version. I hadn't realised that I needed to do something slightly different in the code to handle podcasts as opposed to music.

Thanks for your kind words about the app - glad you like it!

Oh cool. That will make the app literally perfect! Well almost. It would be great if your could copy Interval Schedules between activities. It is a pain to have to manually create theme in both Running and Indoor Running.

I may allow this in the future but it would require a lot of fiddly checking because different activity types have different available capabilities and metrics. For example copying a schedule from outdoor cycling to indoor cycling would only work for some schedules because indoor cycling does not have distance information, and therefore no pace information, which would affect the interval durations, targets, screen customisations etc.

Even when copying between outdoor and indoor running it would not be possible to copy any screen customisations that showed elevation metrics, bearing metrics, compass metrics etc.

That is not to say that I won't allow it in the future, but just that it is not as easy as it sounds!

After sorting out my GPS accuracy issues (for those interested: it seems they were fixed by calibrating the watch through multiple runs and also by moving the crown from right to left - see other thread on this), I did my second run with Workoutdoors. Absolutely love it, great app.

Two things I noticed:

1) When autolap info is displayed, it is disappearing very fast. From noticing the sound/tap to turning my arm I can only see it fade away. Is it possible to configure the display time or double the time?

2) I set my shortcut for double tap to pause the run. Fiddled around with it a bit and it worked ok. Midtime in the run I noticed that the distance counter did not count anymore and I figured out that stupid me continued my run in pause mode. So big drama: I was missing 300m on my run... 🤦‍♂️
Would it be possible to distinguish "Pause" and "Resume" more obviously? Garmin does it through a red surrounding of the screen when paused and switches to a green surrounding when resuming. This surrounding goes away shortly after resuming.

Sorry, but I am sure it's not fixed ...
I still have the same issues with LTE ON, and the calibration and crown position doesn't change anything.
I am afraid you will be disappointed ...

Ok, sorry. „Fixed for me“ is what I meant. But as you write: the track of today recorded with WOD looks worse than my recording with the Apple app when I zoom in very deep. Had some hiccups I did not have with the Apple app on the same course.

What app did you use?

It's not depending on the app. All apps give the same result.
Each app get GPS position through Apple API, and it's a mix of GPS, movement sensor, WIfi, LTE ...
The developer has no control on that.
I think you problem is not fixed, as for me. It's random, sometimes it works, but in other conditions, other times, you get a bad tracking. So it's not fixed.
Sometimes I have got a perfect tracking for a 2 hour running session, except 30 seconds somewhere.
So you can't conclude it's fixed.
Unfortunately.

I am not sure about your point, that all apps behave the same. Maybe Ian can shed a light on this how this works. Could imagine that each app has a different algorithm for deciding, which points to keep and which not.

About your point: "it is fixed". True.

I'll try tomorrow on my home route with WOD and see if there is a difference to my last run.
Inspecting my run today, it is definitely more "wobbly" than my run last Monday with Apple app on the same route.
