With Strava it’s only visible if it’s in the top 3 of your PR’s right? Maybe I’m looking at the wrong place or is this behind the Summit paywall?
Runalyze.com can do this.
You can easily export all your runs to runalyse with healthfit.
In an activity you have the option to view the best sub segments, see picture for an example.

PS I'm new here, but I use WOD for a couple of years. I run also with a Stryd the last months so i'm also waiting for the update :) Now I press the crown to switch between the two apps.

Hi, great app, just bought it!
I want to implement the MAF180 method, ie stay in my zone (180-age) and get an alert on my watch, anyone work out like that?

Used imported routes yesterday on a bike trip. It saved my a**. I was biking in a new area and ran into snow after a while. Decided to push on hoping it wouldn’t be for long as I planned a round trip. Got up to a meter deep rotten snow for long stretches. Broken trees lay across the path that was getting increasingly difficult to see where went. Every time I strayed a bit off WOD alerted me and I managed to find the path again. 2km of this with out the app would have been very difficult.
looking forward to turn by turn, but it works well as it is now. Thanks again for the great app

Glad to hear that the app helped in such extreme circumstances!

Got my AW6 early April and had pre-selected WOD as my running app of choice. Been getting the hang of designing my screens and using a
smart watch after 15 years of Garmin watches and loving the switch.

I have nearly 30 runs worth of data and I have just noticed a big discrepancy on Strava between moving time and elapsed time. It looks like there is a difference every day of at least a few seconds and as much as half a minute sometimes.

Under WOD Pausing settings I have Auto-Pause disabled.

My route is almost road free and I don’t stop! Looking back to my Garmin days Moving and Elapsed time were identical although I had auto-pause enabled.

I have read a few posts (mainly on this thread) but am baffled about what might be going on. Any clues or insight would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance!

Strava's moving time metrics always seem unreliable to me. Maybe they have tailored their pause-detection algorithm for the files produced by Garmin.

I recommend switching the run type to Race, which makes Strava display the elapsed time instead: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001188684-Moving-Time-Speed-and-Pace-Calculations

I wish that Strava would respect the values in the files sent to them instead of trying to recalculate everything from the GPS positions!

I've just accepted that Strava will never fully match reality. I've always had discrepancies, even when I was on Garmin watches. I prefer Smashrun for metrics and Strava just for the social stuff.

I'm considering picking up a stryd pod, but I'm mostly interested in using it with workoutdoors for trail running with maps. I know that the integration is still being worked on, but I was curious if it would also work with Stryd's new training plans ie: will it automatically pull in the scheduled workouts for the week.

Definitely not in the first version, but probably in the future when I add the ability to import scheduled workouts.

Is that going to be possible? You can’t export stryd’s structured workouts into anything at present other than the stryd watch app. I certainly can’t see them permitting it so you’d need to somehow retrieve the runs from their system

Hi, do you have an estimated date for the release of this first version ?
Sorry - I don't like to set myself deadlines. Probably in a couple of months but that is just a guess. I decided to include a few other features, such as topographic maps, which has also been a lot of work.

My plan was to try to switch to smaller more frequent releases, but I just get bored coding the same feature and like to have some variety. So it will be another big release with lots of new features, which means it will take a bit longer. Sorry about that.

I didn't realise that. I haven't looked into it yet but I assumed they would allow structured workouts to be exported using a standard such as FIT, but I guess not. I can't really criticise though because WorkOutDoors doesn't allow it either yet.

I frequently get people asking to import structured workouts from systems like Training Peaks, so I do plan to allow that in the future, as well as probably allowing those created in WOD to be exported to other systems (although that is lower priority).

Stryd can import workouts from training peaks and final surge and many users will use purchased training plans from those platforms. So compatibility with those platforms would be very helpful. Their own training plans are part of the membership tier unfortunately though and can only be used with the stryd app. You could manually programme of course.

is there a way (or workaround) to keep track of how many km's I ran with a certain pair of shoes (or any other type of equipment) in WorkOutDoors?

I may add gear tracking in the future, although I think it is something that Apple should do so that they can track it across different apps. However they have not added it and several people have asked for it, so it is on my list of features to add.

In the meantime you can see total distances in the app, which may help. To do this tap the icon in the top right of the Workouts tab. Then filter by Running and group by something like month. It will then tell you your running totals for each month, which may help you calculate how much usage your shoes have had (especially if you only run with one pair).

okay, I added the name of the shoe in the name of the run and then I can search for the name of the shoe and group by year (I rotate between 2 pairs of shoes). Not perfect, but one step closer to not need Strava anymore ?

I see an app called ShoeCycle which integrates with HealthKit. Haven't used it myself but maybe it would do what you are looking for.

Hi all,

Long time apple watch user, but mainly wanted a watch for running. Switched to a garmin 945 for a year, but missed apple watch too much -- back with Apple Watch Series 6 now.

I'm trying to use the workoutdoors app and I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some interval runs. I know you can set up an interval workout, which works great. But when doing a workout without people, and watches not syncing up perfectly, it's nice to be able to manually start the next "interval/lap/segment."

Is there a way, to have it so I can manually "lap" but... it still auto laps at every mile? That's the only thing I'm missing about a garmin! I've added pictures of what my workout looks like on apple watch, and what it looks like on garmin - I want it to be like garmin!

You can see the 8th segment in the "apple watch" workout has 4 miles in it. It would be very valuable to me be able to know what the pace was for each of those miles without having to manually lap each one..

If I'm over complicating, let me know!

@cfc any thoughts?

Sorry - I am a bit confused. Are you saying that you want laps within an interval, or that you want to manually start a lap and then future laps happen automatically after that?

Some background which may help: Previously the app allowed both laps and intervals to be manually controlled, but this confused downstream systems which only handled one way of manually splitting a workout. So I removed the ability to manually start a lap, and this made it consistent with Apple's app.

So now laps are always of a constant length (splits) and you should use intervals to manually split a workout. This can be done either manually during a workout (by using the New Interval command) or by using a custom interval schedule. Or both.

This means that what you want is only possible by using intervals. If you want repeating 1 mile intervals but with some that are truncated then set up an interval schedule with a repeating 1 mile interval and then use the New Interval command when you want to start a new interval early. It is probably best to set up a shortcut to the command, such as double tapping the screen or using both side buttons.

I hope that helps?

Maybe it's this you're looking for (?): WorkOutDoors differentiates between intervals and laps so you can see both for the same run.

That’s an interval workout you set up in advance right?
Yes, but it's the same when you start an open workout with new interval button, just the names of the intervals are different (the screenshots are not of an actual run - that's why the data makes no sense).
