Haha just look at calendar

Image

iOS7 is ridiculous.

The new Calendar design doesn't look THAT bad. I like the use of color and space, but wonder about the readability of those thin fonts that are used throughout the iOS. The color choices are questionable but ugly colors are the new black these days so it's just part of our current culture. The reduced functionality is hard to comment on without having used it, but it looks like they kept the views I use and axed the ones I didn't like as much.

I want to stop talking about it and start using it!

I have to admit I was getting bored with ios and did want a change but gosh it got beat with an ugly stick throughout. Unfortunately it probably won't end there as developers will likely update their apps to match ios 7s design. It does have some nice features though but I was already getting those before via jailbreaking but its also missing a handful of much need features as well. I did play around with the beta 2 for a few days and the bugs wasn't a problem but just the overall look is bad imo and I'm hoping to see some design changes in future beta builds once apple iron out some of the current bugs first.

Seems like a disaster to me.

1) Way too many Apple apps are broken in that you cannot select the top row of the scrollbar: this makes it impossible to select the most recent caller who left a voice mail, you can't ADD a stock to the stock tracker app,
2) The calendar fonts are such that you simply cannot tell the difference between days with calendar items and those without.
3) Scrolling of email is jerky, and delayed at random intervals, so the action is not smooth at all. Horrible.
4) The photo/video control buttons are impossible to decipher. You can't tell when video is on or off. They abandoned the usual VCR controls and now you can't tell whats going on. They injected some crazy animation that leaves pictures out of focus most of the time.
5) They broke quite a few other apps that rely on search or other controls on the top row of a list. You simply cannot get to the top row, especially if teathering is activated.

OMG... I just read this... somebody shoot me please!!!

The question I have is, does Jony Ive and his team believe their design prinicple's are more important than customer satisfaction? I don't think apple had many issues with iOS and customer satisfaction.

Anyway I blame Tim cook for not doing his job and keeping core talent in the company.

not only not keeping them, but trying to get rid almost everything that's designed or done by them, unnecessarily, how interesting when you think about it.

I guess you could consider a feature of iOS 7 to be project sandpaper. A lot of it is not smooth at all.

7 is the reason I will be staying with 6 unless I am forced to upgrade for security and performance related reasons. The design is just horrible.

Anyways I don't see any drastic changes in UI. The fundamentals are still the same and so it feels like a cheaply themed android phone to me. I will continue to enhance 6 with jailbreak hacks as long as possible. In fact I already have most of the features of 7 and more through jailbreak hacks.

And me!!

It's a beta (only the second one) there are going to be issues with it. I have no doubt the calendar will be sorted by the time we reach GM, plus all the other issues.

Some people need to calm down!

I wonder how nice would be beta 3...

People should give Android a chance. They just don't know how better it is, and how much better it will get.

Plus you have much better hardware also.

Buying a phone based on "how much better it will get" is a fool's errand. Ultimately, though, Android is not better, it's just different and caters to a different set of customers. Trust me, I gave it a chance and played with it for almost two years, and I came back to iOS without regrets.

The Finder, and traditional hierarchical file systems, are relics from the PC era. These things are not needed on modern, cloud-aware mobile devices.

That isn't to say iOS couldn't use better document management capabilities, which works across apps, in the future. But it shouldn't be anything like the Finder.

Spoken by someone who obviously doesn't work with many files.

The fonts and many other UI elements are too thin and the colors are garish and clash. Really not liking it and I'm a die hard Apple fan. Not liking it also makes it all the more apparent that if you don't like something you are stuck with it. I think I like stock Jelly bean better. Too bad most of the Android hardware sucks.

Let's hope next updates will be better. No use overly complaining about the same stuff when it's not the full rolled out version of ios7.

In the last 2 years, what has android gotten? A new UI reskin, a new branded service that only tells the weather for me (and its available on iOS), and a new branded "feature" that's supposed to make smoother scrolling (I can't believe how people ate it all up,and called it innovation). Even then, android devices still lag.

You'd think they would fundamentally change Siri, but she still behaves as if she's in beta.

I wanted her simply to find my sister on Facebook.

It couldn't do it.

Because my sister shares my last name, all Siri could say was: "I don't see that name in your contacts."

No matter what I said differently, same response.

Then I said Search. What does Siri do?

She searches for the word search.

Embarrassing.

All I wanna say is that I'm content with the way my iPhone looks and functions on iOS 7 :3

My thoughts exactly. I even downloaded the most popular iOS7 theme from cydia and the look (which matched all the screen shots I've been seeing) was so gawd-awful, that I deleted the theme and welcomed back my stock icons.

First impressions mean a lot and if you're expected to 'get used to' or 'warm up to' the new look then it's a big FAIL.

I seriously hope they offer a 'dark' theme to switch to, but knowing Apple, it's their way or the highway.

Siri can't access your facebook account, what did you expect?

To the user saying that you must not use that many files,it's a freaking phone what files do you edit that much on your phone? do you really create presentations and stuff like that on your phone?
What Apple needs is a sort of central repository that all apps can access if access is granted by the user,a simple way of solving the problem without having to know the directory.
