I change my phone every couple of years so I'll catch up with any design changes. It doesn't matter what you buy or when, there will always be something new coming along. I buy for what I need and want right now. Having said that, a nice new iPad with Face ID, yeah I could be tempted to upgrade and pass on my current iPad to my daughter. See that's how things work in life - when you can afford things, and have choices, all of this petty debate is just that - petty.

iPhone X X owners, will you feel hosed by.. a X Plus next year?

I don't consider an upgrade to a physically larger phone as an upgrade!Nope, I would just upgrade since I have annual upgrades.
Besides, I'm on an "upgrade any time" plan. Buy the phone outright, pay way less per month, sell it for more at the end of the term. Total cost of ownership is far less than paying for these monthly "rentals".
I would love Apple to make the X Plus. I won't buy it because it will be on a large side for me, but I am sure many people would want it.

I’ve been playing Apple’s game long enough to know what’s going to happen. I’m going to enjoy the X this year and then upgrade to the X Plus next year.
You can be like those other people that keep on holding out for the next best thing and end up not getting anything.
No, in part because a larger form factor is not of interest for me in a phone, and in part because I do not have “upgrade”-itis. There will always be something new around the corner. That does not prevent me enjoying the now or mean I need to jump on everything new. I bought my X with the intention it will be mine for at least two or three years.
I think a lot of people will be very happy with a Plus version of the X, though, and I think it would be great if Apple gives them that option.

How silly. Of course not. I've never felt 'hosed' by the next year Toyota Corolla either.
Of course not. There is always something better next year. Doesn't take away from how great the iPhone X is right now. I am not sure I want a phone as big as a Plus size anymore either, but I will certainly evaluate what features it brings (more so on the software side).

I am not in the camp of buying a phone every year. If I get one, that's what I have for 2 years. I am currently still on the fence with the X and 8 plus, and my 14 days are running out. I can't make up my mind. I don't feel hosed, but I would have liked to have an X plus. But it's not a game changer to be honest, and I am not on my phone 24/7 so I can live with it
Not at all. I'm thinking of returning my X as for me, it seems to big and heavy already. I would rather Apple make a smaller version of the X. This big phones are to large to carry in your pants pocket.
Nope. Not in the least. If a larger size is released, I will buy it and give this version to my wife. No big deal.
The plus size phones are just too big for me. Comically big almost. So the X+ will do nothing for me
I picked up my 6S PLus for the first time in since getting the X last night. It felt like a damn brick. Way too wide. I don't know how I lived with it for all these years (started with the 6 Plus). It just looked ridiculous. I guess I just wanted the bigger screen.

As a iPad Pro 12.9“ and macBook 15“ owner, i find the smaller iPhone X fits perfectly to this group. I loved the iPhone 7+ screen size, but its overall size was a bit too big. I‘ve often noticed it during biking or running. The screen size and camera was the main reason for me to get the 7+. But now with the X, i have more or less the same screen real estate in a more handy form factor. I won’t say that a bigger iPhone X won’t get me, but from my current point of view i don’t think i will get a bigger X in the future, if it doesn’t offer any additional „must have“ feature.
