I think there will be some pissed buyers if Apple bring out three models next year as they may drop the current X completely. This is likely in order to supply oleds for new models. This will kill the resell value of current X which I forsee anyway. Predict half price used sales.

I know a few people who feel burnt from buying the 7 to only be superceded twice one year later with the 8 and X.

Buy what you need today and don't worry about tomorrow I guess.

Nope. As long as they don't gimp the regular sized X then I won't be going back to the plus size again. I dealt with that for the last few years and I really love being able to use a phone one-handed again. Love the size of this phone.

Considering that Ming Kuo has already predicted that Apple will launch a 6.5 OLED iPhone, you might want accept this rumor being a reality eventually next year in 2018. It Only makes sense that Apple is going to expand into a larger size iPhone to create more diversity in the iPhone X lineup.

That said, the iPhone X is a great size device, but it does feel slightly small to me. I personally like larger displays, not necessarily larger phones. I think the iPhone X Plus will meet that median for me in terms of what I am looking for. As for what somebody will pay for a device, is subjective and based on what their preferences are.
Consider that the price of the iPhone X Plus is rumored at $1500. The price of a 64GB iPhone X and a 128GB iPad with WiFi is roughly $1428 including tax. Do you think that it's better to get iPhone X Plus or iPhone X and an iPad? For me, the iPhone and the iPad is a no-brainer. If the $1500 price tag rumor is correct, this shows that Apple is starting to get a little too greedy, and some people aren't exactly catching the better deals that Apple has. I just don't see why getting the iPhone X Plus is justified if you can get the iPhone X and iPad bundle for around the same price.

What I’m going to be disappointed in is if I have to make extra payments in order to IUP the X Plus. I wonder if they will release in September as usual next year. I’m still gonna do it though. That phone is gonna be awesome.

Unless someone put a gun to your head and forced you to shell out $1000+ to buy an iPhone X this year against your will, you have absolutely no standing to feel 'hosed' about what comes out next year. Stupid poll.
Absolutely agree, stupid poll!!!

I'm guessing you mean 'swindled', which is absurd.

Another childish, nonsense thread on MR. But... there's nothing wrong with being a child; we all do it at some point :D

I hated the 6+ when it launched and hated it, downgraded to the 6, still missed the 5S size, so bought an SE as soon as it became available. The X is the first phablet I can unreservedly love. I'm OK with the bigger device size as long as I've getting proportionally more screen for it rather than bezels, but the X+ is a bridge too far. I'm a Mac guy, and the iPhone isn't my primary computer, so an even bigger iPhone doesn't scratch an itch I have.

I have already accepted the fact that we have to spend $1500 for a new iPhone every year. However, next year we will probably have 3 options but I will get the best model from Apple.

Knowing Apple thinks that bigger equals better equals more money, it will likely be the X2 Plus model.

I think this question should be asked in September once the keynote of the X's successors are announced. Too early. I do think some will feel hosed when the X2 Plus gets more perks like more RAM, higher ppi, longer battery life, etc.

While initializing my wife's iPhone X return over the phone, the Apple rep said there's going to be an X plus coming in the spring. I think I'll hold out a few more months in hope that it's true. Just thought I'd throw this in there.

Edited to add: Apparently, the plus was supposed to be released with the X but the screen supply issues pushed it to the spring.

Not sure I would consider the X a phablet in 2017. The display area is no bigger than comparable phones like Galaxy S8. Next to the S8+ and Note 8, the iPhone X is small.

I know it's juvenile, but I still chuckle when I see plus size phones. Reminds me of tourists pulling out ipads to take photos at tourist attractions. But there is clearly a market for it as we've seen the last few years. More power to those who get the phone they want, if it's the X+. I got the one I wanted, everyone should feel the happiness I do too.
