No chance that both LG and Samsung have the same display problems.
has it even been shown by anyone here that LG panels exist or don't have the yellow tint issue?

Based on the information in this thread, and many people have done multiple exchanges, there is like a 99% chance your phone will have a warm screen.

With anandtech confirming that we are not crazy today, I think it’s safe to say this is what most iPhones look like this year, and the “nice” screens out there are the true outliers, not our yellow ones.
Glad i got a 12 after reading that.

iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 generally seems to beat the iPhone 12 Pro in terms of accuracy, again showcasing better results and an outstandingly good overall error result of dEITP of 1.44.

Apple Typical Best Displays

Overall, the new iPhone 12 series continues Apple’s tradition of having amongst the best calibrated displays on the market. The 12 Pro seems to just shy away from the usual Apple perfection, but the results are still outstandingly good and beyond that of any other device.

I think what’s most important for this generation of devices is the fact that the iPhone 12 now features a higher resolution OLED screen. It can’t be understated how much of an upgrade this is compared to the “Retina” grade LCD panel of the iPhone 11. Personally, this makes the iPhone 12 an actual consideration whereas I wouldn’t have been satisfied with using the iPhone 11’s LCD. It also vastly diminishes the feature gap to the Pro models – I don’t consider the brightness advantage of the 12 Pro to be all that significant, although again the Pro model does showcase better viewing angles and a more pronounced “sticker feel”.

Help yourself : http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html/

From your phone - Settings - General - About .. tap and hold on the serial number to copy. Paste it on that site.

you’ll need the full serial number. Been using this site for years and never had an issue!
I entered my SN and registered but it is not displaying any information?

It says "please be patient, we are looking up the data." For the last 10 minutes?

OK .. but it would be enough if they added the white tone adjustment ... not that of the color filter .... do you think it's possible?

try refreshing the screen and doing it again.. Usually it's pretty quick.

I couldn't tell ya.. I just believe it will help us 'some', but it may not alleviate the green tint or dingy looking text, or raised blacks issue that many devices appear to be affected with..

I noticed that since the xs generation the panel have become more and more uniform.

This model year show minor to none variation from each panel as you can clearly read in this thread.

yes there some clearly defective units but the most are identical. They may be yellowish the 11, have a kind of glow or whatever but that’s it.
Mone of the most annoying issue of the X generation, for example, was the evenness of the display: starting from 11 all and I say all the panel I saw was perfectly even.

Unfortunately the trend started with the oled make the panel of every new gen more yellow.

I recall the “old times” with (from 5 to xs) the variation was huge... and so, at that times, you really play the lottery game.

now it does not worth it. If you do not accept the warmth of the tint and you can’t live with the color accommodation bandaid you’re done. Look elsewhere.

perhaps the next batches will be better, who knows. At the present the evidence is pretty clear to everybody.

If it’s only the samsung panels there’s hope for a sw fix, since i’m pretty sure iOS should be able detect the panel manufacturer and calibrate accordingly

Where are those good LG / Samsung panels that are cooler and don't have yellow tint? How is that people have exchanged so many phones and they are all yellow?

Those articles refer to other display issues other then the reported yellow tint.

I just took for granted the temperature differences given with the lower number being that yellow tint result. Good call.

Has anyone updated to 14.3 beta?
I saw a post that said that might solve the problem.

There have been posts about how every single upcoming update "might solve the problem". So far, no, it hasn't. There could be another beta tomorrow and that could address it, but there's zero indication of if/when it will be addressed through software.

It won't be. I'll give 11:1 odds on anyone willing to bet. 11 because thats the number of years iPhone 3GS owners have been waiting for this software fix for the same yellow tint for that gen.

Well comrades... no clue what happened but it looks like my X's battery went haywire or has short circuited. Trying to fix it but it doesn't look good. Couldn't even go back if I tried 😂
