normal behaviour - my old 11 pro max does that where it moves even worse. My 12 pro max doesn’t do it as much.
My wife’s iPhone 12 and my mate’s iPhone 12 pro don’t have the “raised blacks” issue And the a OLED smearing on theirs is much less noticeable. I discovered a few websites i visit frequently that have that all black background, with grey bars, and as you scroll up and down the smearing is noticeable On mine.
I also showed the videos to an apple senior member of support, who eventually recommended I go for a replacement, if I am still in time...

I should add that my wife’s iPhone 12 and my mate’s iPhone 12 pro, despite not having the “raised blacks” issue And a much better OLED smearing, their yellow tone was worse than mine and their greys worse than mine (more green).

Not sure if I should see a correlation in that.
The only logical explanation is that since their screens display the greys with a green tone, then the “amoled smearing” effect is less noticeable...

Iphone 12pro v iPhone X

Dark Mode off,
True Tone off,
night mode off
No colour filters applied

Basically all settings on both phones the same but the 12p screen looks dim side by side to iPhone X.
If I turn the auto brightness off on both phones and wait a few seconds then the X doesn’t change and just looks the same but the 12p goes as bright as the X?

Is this a fault?

Why should I need to turn off AB on the phone just to avoid looking dim? Why are the 2 phones behaving differently? Apple even recommends to keep AB switched on
Help please
When AB is turned off, not only brightness gets better, also contrast and sharpness too. You can immediately notice the difference on images. Everything looks much nicer.

I think there is definitely something wrong with AB. Brightness at 100% should be exactly the same regardless of AB turned on or off.

After a couple of swaps I had ended up with a non yellow or minimally yellow mini albeit with more noticeable colour shift off angle. Was finally happy with a screen after two swaps but have a faulty volume button and have to re enter the screen lottery. Very sad.

Hello from Europe

I’m on my 3rd swap, still yellow as a banana
Trying 14.3 update and will cancel order if not successful (most likely)

Serial starts with C6 something (didn’t checked the 2 previous one)
A friend of mine got an FD9 something and it’s perfect (see picture)

Going to grab a 11 pro or keep my 6s instead and waiting for this nonsense to stop
If apple is intending to sell crappy screens, then I’ll rather not pay ~ 1k for it

So you have an iPhone 12 Mini with no yellowish screen ? Could you please give 5 first characters of serial ?

I just have my second Mini and it's always yellow. My SN start with C6KDN

Accordind to this site https://en.tab-tv.com/?p=18929 it seems "DN" was product on week 45..

I have a G0NDK. I thought mine had that yellow screen issue. Mine looks fantastic, as long as True Tone is off. True Tone is really aggressive.

It’s really odd. Sometimes I feel my screen looks fine, then other times I feel it’s a complete mess. And there’s no rhyme or reason to it. I guess I’m just more sensitive to the yellow sometimes, but it’s weird. Never experienced this before with a device.
I have the same problem... I think colours adjust very aggressively under various light conditions. So sometimes it looks good, sometime worse than a 120 euro phone I use as a second device

My 12Pro has a slightly warmer screen than my 11Pro, but I would not call it yellow. The display varies quite a bit depending on the ambient lighting. My 11Pro does the same thing, but I considered that screen perfect out of the box and never thought much about it. My poor 12Pro gets checked for everything and yes it does have the raised blacks issue.

I think this may be a characteristic of oled. The ambient light conditions really have a pronounced effect on the way the screen looks. I’ve found the same even with my “good” screen.

At that point I really doubt

I've had tons of OLED screens going back to the Samsung S6. Never experienced anything like this before.

There’s definitely a pattern you just haven’t tried to find it. I’m willing to bet anywhere near natural daylight it’s okay and anywhere indoors it’s crappy.

That would point to a bug with TT somehow not fully turning off then, which would mean it's a software bug, but that doesn't make sense as some people have reported getting good screens.

Anyone noticing the screen becoming a bit blurry and less vibrant after updating to 14.3?
I just got the iPhone 12 Pro after having the 10 for 3 years. Side by side, the 12 display does seem more muddy / less crisp than the 10. It also is warmer. Both have 14.3.
