Are you going to return it?Today I got my second iPhone 12 PM. 49 week looks worse than mine from week 42. New on the left, old on the right
Are there any new iPhones that dont have this problem...
Looks like I might have to get the 11 pro max

For those tell us there is no problem: I had 3 iPhones 12 and first and second mini’s screen where horribly yellow, and the third iphone 12 Classic is great.
it’s not my eyes, that was not iphones just a little more yellow, they were very crappy, very yellow tinted and poor quality display.
Another perfect display, stunning - like mine. After being mocked (desrved) for posting a screenshot, I take this pic here from the camera on my S7+ (I don't have a compact camera).
For sure I expect a lot people laughing as before saying my display is sxxt nevertheless, but I post anyway for my sake of comprehension. Before taking this shot I compared the display in full brightness of my 12PM with the S7+ which has as said one of the best if not the best amoled in the 2020 market. That said, the display of the S7 compared side by side (I can't take a pic cause I don't have a third camera) appears to be less white than the display of my iphone. I am a bit lost here...but for sure, based on my own eyes see, I am happy with it.
Thanks everybody for sharing your opinions, there is a lot to learn from more expert people.

How can you tell from a picture?Another perfect display, stunning - like mine.
How can you tell from a picture?
No my iPhone 12 Classic is FFWDN.Does your Serial Number start with G6TDQ... ?
Mine does and it was the best display out of 3 other Iphone12 i tested.
95% similar to my IPhoneX (which had really perfect white colors).
Also i noticed in the first 2 weeks there were more „yellow“ displays in the apple store,
But now those are gone. Iphone12 Pro Max still seems to be more yellow than IPhone 12 displays in average.
Edit: this also doesn't mean there's not a consistency problem with a small subset of users, but it should help show that even the experts don't necessarily consider this a major problem that Apple has to fix...
Does this problem only happen when True Tone is on? When True Tone is off is the screen white?
That is the problem right there. How can you determine that the problem is with a "small subset of users"? There is no way to know this. You are diminishing a problem because you think that is a small subset of users. Or do you work at Apple and know this from facts? How can you determine this? This is a subjective issue that requires a comparison between other displays and what is perceived as correct or not.
I don't think that apple intended a different color profile only for the iPhones 12 than other new Apple products such as the new MBP M1 which is similar to my iPhone X when TT is off and similar to a professionally calibrated monitor for video editing.
I can understand your point, but in my case what I don't think that Apple intended for inconsistent white balance between iPhones 12, even between the same model. I never use TT or Filter, or NS. I like/need a consistent display between all my devices since I like to edit photos with Lightroom and compare them on multiple devices. To get anecdotal as you, I have compared multiple iPhones, 12 Pro and Pro Max. There are not the same displays. Even with the TT off, some of them are more yellow than others, and some of them are similar in white balance or cool as my iPhone X. So, I'm the only one that had the "luck" to witness the unique iPhones with these inconsistencies? Yes, Apple may have set for a warmer white balance this year, but I think the manufacturing process screwed up the calibration and the QA process was relaxed enough to keep the high demand. That's a fair point, but you could swing that the other way as well? You "think" Apple didn't intend this. I "think" Apple did. It's a fact, no matter which side you're on, that the 12 line of iPhones are more yellow (or "less white") than the previous models. The evidence to the contrary is so small compared to the mountain of evidence otherwise that I think that's a safe conclusion at this point.
If we want to get anecdotal, within my family alone, we've had two 12 Pro's, two Mini's, and two regular 12's. All from different retail sources, all ranging from the release date until this past week. Every single one of them has a screen that looks more yellow than previous models. You have reviewers and experts stating the same. You have "display experts" observing the same. And yet not one of them has jumped off this cliff stating it's some sort of chronic problem that needs a fix. It's just the way they did it this year, generally speaking.
My issue isn't the subjectivity of the matter, or whether or not there's a little inconsistency. My issue is, as someone else stated earlier, the "get your pitchforks out!" attitude of this thread from the start. The reason I think this is blown way out of proportion is because of the inherent nature in how a problem like this flows.
I think the majority of people complaining about the yellow screen simply have a phone designed as Apple intended it this year because that's what the evidence suggests to this point. The sensationalism of the beginning of this thread is what's pushed so many people to think this is a systemic problem rather than what was intended. Because of all of that, I think it's a small subset of users that truly have screen issues.
- Sensationalized post about yellow screens
- People get new phone and the screen looks more yellow to them
- They google it and find a thread like this and think, "omg me too!"
- Because essentially every iPhone 12 is like this, the forum "beast" feeds itself, perpetuating the hype
- In actuality, most people complaining about this "issue" have a phone that is simply less white because that's how Apple made them this year
In a few months if Apple comes out with some sort of recall, then I'll eat my words. But the more likely outcome will be one of two things. Either Apple will silently "address" this by tweaking True Tone to be a little less warm, addressing the "problem" for most people. Or people will simply stop comparing to their older/other phones and get used to it.
Sorry, that got way too long...
I've seen this as well actually. Can you guys test something for me, search for a message in the mail app across all mailboxes then open one of the found items. My screen is grey and dim except for the found message, is yours the same?
Dang that screen on the right is beautiful.

Yes I confirm for having seen it with my own eyes. For me all iPhone 12 should be like that. That’s what you expect when you buy APPLE products.Dang that screen on the right is beautiful.

Dang que l'écran de droite est magnifique.
