The screen on my 12 PM I bought on launch day is disgustingly yellow compared to other iPhones I have compared it to. Nothing I did fixed it, still garbage yellow. Mine took a drop and a stupid sensor inside it broke and Verizon is sending me a new one. This one better have a proper display for the absurd price I paid for it.

Got a replacement - week 50 december

Looks very similar to the one I sent back - much warmer than the Xr, but probably fine if one doesn’t hold one next to the other (that one guys I don't understand why Apple does not give the possibility to change the color temperature, with my Xiaomi I can easily set anything .. I am seriously thinking of abandoning Apple after this iPhone 12 unless they fix the various problems with a new update this month
same with Huawei devices. They have the industry best user color adjustments in the industry as far as I’m concerned. One can change every aspect of the display color wise. It’s infinite

no, I'm talking about the green color because in my iPhone I noticed not perfect blacks also but a green tint if I see videos in a dark room .. I don't like the yellow tint but I can also get used to it but I can't accept not perfect blacks After a lot of money
Watch the attached video in a dark room and reduce your brightness to zero. What color do the brightest keys on the video show up as?

what this test should demonstrate? What’s supposed to be a normal behavior of the phone?

Can you elaborate more on what we need to do please.
Put the video on full screen in a dark room , preferably pitch dark. Then gradually reduce the screen brightness until it’s on the min setting of zero. Some green tint issue will prevail on the lower set of keys on the video if your screen is effected with the dreaded green tint issue.
An example shown below from another device when brightness was set to low and zero. Note the green keys.

Does everyone in this thread have their 12 Pro (6.1") screen bottom half dimmer than upper half?
I went to compared these to my local store and I saw 4 pcs 12 Pro's and all had dimmer bottom half. It was noticeable no matter what orientation like landscape. Due to bright lights it was harder to judge uneven tint but I think they were just dimmer bottom half but the same hue. Mine is dimmer bottom half and greenish hue while upper pinkish bright.

Slightly off topic, but do older iPhone screens that use OLED panels shows burn-in mark?
I did not notice any on my 2 year old X and neither was our other family member X after same time.
But I was using it with care. I think OLED can be "burned" if keeping something constant on the screen long enough.

My pro max , has slight pink hue around an inch or two on the bottom of the screen. It’s extremely difficult to show via pics.

Could be that Max has better screen as the one I saw in my local store seemed a bit better than 6.1"´s (but too small sample size as there was only 1 x Max (4 x 6.1" Pro's)).
Anyway with my Pro 6.1" I'm not talking about small hue difference spots but that upper and lower half of the screen are more or less different hue and bottom noticeable darker. Also bottom half has small coin size very greenish spot on the lower right (in portrait position).

If it’s going to cause you annoyance then get it replaced.

I would but what can you do? I don't think Apple will send me a new one just like that and in case I ordered a new one, it takes like a one month to get it but I need to return mine by 8th January. Or do they actually replace ones that client is not happy by sending a new one first? I have no Applecare.

Can someone please check and tell me if I need to be worried? The greenish effect appears in photos but not in real when I observed in a pitch black room.
12 Pro Max, 128 GB, Pacific Blue. Photos taken using a Galaxy S6. Also if you think I should take the photos with a better camera please let me know as I feel like the S6 might be ruining them.

Can’t you order to pickup at store as a new order then when you go to pickup the new device return the old one.

The last photo is typical of an OLED panel in patch dark room with low brightness on a dark wallpaper. Here’s two from my Samsung note 20 ultra for example.

iPhone 12 Pro should have excellent brightness distribution. Notebookcheck's review says theirs was 99% evenly lit which is as good as it gets.

Looks good in person. Had to slightly increase brightness for the camera of my Xr to capture the greys.
No sign of green tinge
