I’m going to ask a question , do these tests conducted use just one sample device or multiple ?

I have no idea. I will say it would be some coincidence for all 4 on display and his device to have a dimmer lower half. Maybe a bad batch that got sent to that store.

Can’t you order to pickup at store as a new order then when you go to pickup the new device return the old one.
No Apple stores in my country and online shop does not sound very helpful either. They let return it by 8th January and rebuy but that's about it, you have to deal with the delivery times which are about 1 month away and getting further every day and I can't be without phone for a month...
I could get silver one from one other store but not sure I want that color as it is scratching so easily without PVD coating. And not sure that shop has such a good return policy in case my luck is like usually, I get the faulty ones.

It was not even the same store I got mine where I saw these and I even checked serial numbers in store demo units and they were from completely different factory than mine (and different production week too).
Nobody else really seen 12 Pro's with dimmer bottom half of the screen? To me that issue looks pretty obvious but not sure if others really look their displays carefully enough in right situations? It is obvious even in settings menu and no matter which orientation you turn the phone. Or just full white image.

iPhone 12 Pro should have excellent brightness distribution. Notebookcheck's review says theirs was 99% evenly lit which is as good as it gets.

I saw that review too. Probably they got a good unit. Not sure they have more than one in test?
Anyway, I have no idea how much in percentage was different in ones I saw but I'd say it must be double digit percentage if you can notice that so clearly. I don't think I can see bare eyes couple percentage difference at all.

Are you sure it's brightness and not just a different color temp ?

You might have very sensitive eyes.

I have sensitive eyes, but I doubt it was not only different color temp as at least 3 demo units I saw seemed dimmer to me on bottom half and only one with dimmer and different hue bottom (like mine). Also our family other 12 Pro seems even color temp to me and just very slightly dimmer (but almost unnoticeable to me even).

Oh ok gotcha. So things like your TV, Laptop, Tablet all have even brightness ? I check my TV by watching a full white video on Youtube.

Yeah. Been checking my MBA M1 a lot lately and white screen and greys are even. So is my OLED TV in brighter images, plus my old iPad's. My X was also fine. I had one X I returned that had red / green screen upper / lower part...

Last sentence, I know the feeling.

Good point raised there. Since color temp would and could show to the eyes as "dimmer" in certain areas. My bottom inch or two is dimmer but in reality for me it's uneven temp. Not trying to disrespect the poster who claimed this either.
I'm picking up another time later today. I'm assuming it'll probably be the same. If it is, that would be it. I'm not going to keep wasting my time exchanging only to upgrade in less than 12 months time again. Lol

I'm pretty sure mine is both dimmer and greenish. But either way, it is pretty disturbing if there is a lot of phones having screens that have different color temp between upper and lower parts. I find it hard to believe such can be fixed by software, unless they are all equally different hue. Just like our two 12 Pro's you could not put them both the same "correction" table for this issue, in case there was one that worked for my panel it would make that another completely disaster. I find it hard to see how they could differentiate these panels without actually measuring each one and correct them based on that. I know with OLED panels there is a lot what you can do to them to correct issues (like mura correction, at least in TV sized panels), but doing that without measuring one individually, I find it hard to believe.

The color tint issue (pink on top and green on bottom) and uneven brightness has been a complaint in earlier posts on this thread. I would definitely try to get a replacement.

Would make sense for additional screen issues to pop up along with this tint issue on the 12s.

Really? I found only complaints about yellow screens but not much other than me complaining uneven issue. What was the outcome for that issue for other?

I don't think there is an outcome for any screen issues other than exchanging the phone which was helpful for some, but not many. No response from Apple that I'm aware of. I have a 12 Pro purchased at launch that does not have any unevenness of color or brightness. It has a "warm" screen and does have the raised blacks issue. I find the screen acceptable and the raised blacks don't affect my use case, but I would return a screen that has significant unevenness of color or brightness. I hope you are able to get a phone with a better screen.

So decided to go to Sam’s Club today to grab some salad and raspberries. Suddenly, I started comparing my iPhone Pro Max display’s with the store DEMO unit. Yes, people were looking at me funny. Luckily the store associate wasn’t there...

In Conclusion: It looked like my iPhone had a whiter tone yet subtle white. Also, a sharper display. Both iPhones had 100% brightness on. True Tone off obviously.

It’s just the luck of the draw. I don’t have a yellow or warm hue. Thankfully.

Oh also, I forgot to turn off the flash 💡 light from the display model... guess it’s going to stay on for hours... Doh 🙄

The last photo is typical of an OLED panel in patch dark room with low brightness on a dark wallpaper. Here’s two from my Samsung note 20 ultra for example.
What about the other two pictures I posted? What do you think of those?

UPDATE: I posted more pics below taken with an iPhone 11 in both night mode and with night mode off. What do you think of those?

The greenish areas are ONLY visible in the photos, I tried looking very carefully and wasn't able to convince myself as it looked normal to me off camera especially in the black tile YouTube video test. Not sure what to do as I am travelling in two days and cannot get another replacement. Although what if it's just the camera showing this? Because as I said, I couldn't see the greenish tinge in real.

Can someone please check and tell me if I need to be worried? The greenish effect appears in photos but not in real when I observed in a pitch black room.
12 Pro Max, 128 GB, Pacific Blue. Photos taken using a Galaxy S6. Also if you think I should take the photos with a better camera please let me know as I feel like the S6 might be ruining them.

wich wallpaper did I use in the picture? Brightness level?
