I bought the 13 Mini on sale, not as much savings as I would have hoped with between 90-130€, but because of chip shortage etc it is even a wonder to get it on sale at all. Now I got two 13 Mini because I bought one a long time ago on sale not in stock and it shipped the day my newly ordered iPhone 13 Mini shipped too. :-(

The one is a pink 13 Mini 512GB, the other a 256GB white 13 Mini. And I chose the pink one even thought I don't need that much storage. Because of display quality. It is still crazy how different it is inside a line up. My 13 Mini 512GB has a way better display quality. Especially when comparing it to my other 12 Mini and 13 Mini when shifting the device you see the difference. It has more contrast but most of all is way cooler, a little reddish tint but just a little. It also has much less color shifting when tilted.
The other 256GB 13 Mini is WAY more yellow and has this infamous yellow tint. You see it in normal handling but more than that when shifting it to the right or left. The 256GB one gets more and more yellow the more you shift it. Weird, it was a blue tint shift on the 12 line. It is a night and day difference. My old 12 Mini has the worst display compared as it seems of low quality in general when compared. It has less contrast, yellowish tint like the 256GB 13 Mini and in general you can see that it has a worth quality than both 13 Mini displays. And I tried 5 12 Minis back then in several months before getting this device which had betterd isplay than the others.
So display quality difference is still there. I really was shocked how different those displays are. Thought they would have worked on it. So happy with the 512GB display. Is it a coincidence that the most expensive model with 512GB has the best display? It costs me 260€ more than the 256GB device but the display is what I look at all day so I chose the 512GB, also because I wanted a new color...
They don’t work on the displays, what you see is what you get throughout the production life cycle of the iPhone 13. Maybe the 14 will be better, but guess what? I doubt it.

I mean that they would have reacted to all those yellow tint, bad display quality stuff of the 12 lineup and figured something out. But obviously no. I mean even the yellowish 13 Mini has a better display quality overall then my 12 Mini. Still all those tint issues are still obvious. But whatever, I am happy I got a device with a better display and no yellow tint and better viewing angles etc.

Yep. The overall package is most excellent.

Does anyone here know how to find the serial number of my screen? I would also like to know if there is any way to know if any hardware was changed in my cell phone after being repaired? HELP

I got to buy another iphone 13 pro max and the screen is ok. But now the problem is other, my iphone heats up with normal use and when I'm filming for more than 3 minutes it starts to burn!!(motherboard i think, next to cameras) . Anybody knows what could be the problem? I already tried to restart the software of my iphone. I am thinking of taking it to a technical service but I have the doubt that they will change some hardware... that is why I asked the previous question.

Thin body and glass back. The processor runs hot and you will feel it - the heat has to go somewhere and it's right where your fingers are. I've noticed these phones run hot but don't currently own one (due to PWM so I cannot own an OLED iphone) so I can't say if it's 'normal'.

Likely it's still doing some background activity if you have just setup phone so maybe running a little harder? Filming probably puts the most stress on the processor.

Likely some will tell you to "just get a case". If your concerned just ask Apple, they could remotely check your device to see if it's running correctly via 'support' app - maybe ask them when phone is running hot.

I wouldn't have thought this was an issue for Apple again... I do remember the iMac 24 release disaster from way back when. So happy to hear the iPhone 13 batches are working great with no tint.

To get perfect displays, the yield would probably be very low. There needs to be a better manufacturing process in place, one that is not a display lottery.

Thank god for Mini Led displays. ?

Loving my iPad Pro & MacBook Pro Mini Led displays.

No yellow, green, red, pink tint garbage, no off axis colour shift.

I love mine so much also, Ive gone completely crazy, have True Tone and nightshift on, I think I ve acquired a yellow fetish?
She's a keeper that's for sure. 😻🫦

Hell no. 😳 Pee tone and pee shift off for me on all my apple devices. 😂

I needed 5G, went with a regular 13 and it was too small while giving me massive eye strain. No regrets on the 13 Pro Max. This is actually less yellow than my 11 Pro Max. I got the last 256 in my whole city at the time too. I will still use color filter but I like my screens abnormally blue. No filter on here.

Hello.

I've purchased an iPhone 13 mini, and ir has an off-axis bluish tint.
I've found the serial number of the OLED, and it doesn't match any of the 3 you mention across the thread. Instead of G9Q, G9N or G9L, mine starts with GH3. Is that an indicator of the manufacturer? Thank you

That looks good. What about when the brightness is dimmed? Do you face tinting when viewing something with black/grey backgrounds?

None of that and I've got a bit of a complex about my device screens. It is better than my 11 Pro Max was. It's good at high and low brightness. No tint, no green glow, no excessive yellow, etc.

I've found this rather late. I purchased my first iPhone since the iPhone 7, and this time I got an iPhone 13 mini 256 GB.

The display is ---well, very yellow. Even in dark mode, the darkness takes on a color I would describe as latte maybe. Turning on True Tone is like having Night Shift on, and Night Shift is . . . well even more so. I'm past the 14 day return period. I hadn't opened it right away and had never heard of this issue before. I don't have another iPhone to compare to except my iPhone 7 which looks brighter and much more of a clean white despite its age. My Apple Watch Series 7 looks brighter and much more white than either of them. It's a perfect looking display to me. I assume having it replaced under warranty--if they even did agree to--would mean a refurbished phone? And it might not be any better. I honestly don't mind it that much, but I find it very distracting every time I look at it. I have an urge to "clean" it--it looks sort of like my display is behind a layer of smog.

Edit: I do also have an iPad to compare it to, which also is comparably very white--it's an old entry level iPad.

Edit 2: I forgot to add, I have seen this on OLEDs of pulse oximeters before, but it's as they age. I assume maybe my display was really old, but seeing these other posts, it seems that's not the issue. But that's what it looks like.

Edit 3: Playing with it more: It looks like a clean normal white color from very steep angles, and then facing it again it switches back to looking what I would describe as sometimes yellow sometimes rosy colored.

Exchange it or live with it. I’m not sure after 327 pages of discussion what you hope to learn beyond what’s already been said. Apple has multiple suppliers and sloppy quality control as no two screens are alike.

I managed to return an iPhone on the store past the 14 day return window, but it was just by a few days. If you’ve had it for 16, 17 or even 19 days, you could try luck explaining on the store that you didn’t open it until recently, and you’re not satisfied with the purchase.

Even better, you could ask for an exchange (for a new iPhone, just like when you’re on the 14 day window), and if that new iPhone is equally yellow, just return it and get a third gen SE.

I’m really hoping the next iPhone SE to be LCD because of issues like those, terrible vision angle of OLED, yellow screen, PWM…

None of these issues would exist if Apple would simply include a color calibrator like on MacOS instead that the stupid "Tint" which instead overlays a color, thus dimming the screen.

Hell I'd almost settle for the silly "Tint" option if it allowed for fine tuning with some numbers in the slider.

I had the same thoughts for a long time. Yeah, exactly.
Maybe we could send feedback about that?
