Hey guys,

I've been following this thread and decided to test my own rMBP late 2013 base model.

So I went to this website and ran the yellow test. Here are the results :

Sorry if the rotation is not correct. Preview app shows the pictures correctly :)

We can nearly see a yellow blotch at the bottom right. My LCD model is A022. Do you guys think I should ask for a replacement ? Except this yellow blotch that I can barely notice, my screen seems even...

you forget the attach

It doesn't look very pronounced, the gray bars look the same I think. Maybe I can't tell by the color.

Yeah, it's probably my mind that tries to trick me and push me to think that I got a wrong screen :) I think I'll stick with that display unless I see IR or something...

what is IR? by the way...

ok I have $2600 to spend, I go right now for the macbook pro or I wait? what you think guys?

Thats just right. You got a good screen. :)

Yay! Yeah, when I turn it to full brightness the whites look pretty white. I would like to know how to calibrate the screen colors to as close to 100% RGB as possible. This may create a warmer look, but accurate colors are always nice. Any ideas?

Mine is an LG display. It gets slightly warmer as you go down the screen. It's not very noticeable at full brightness, only on certain light grays. Calibrating the screen minimizes it even further. I probably wouldn't have ever noticed it had I not seen this thread. I'm pretty anal retentive over things like this too as someone who stares at photoshop and illustrator extensively. It does bug me a little now, but not nearly enough to return it and risk getting something worse. I don't believe any LCD display is ever perfect.

So this is my screen. Look at the left from bottom to the top. What do you guys think about it? This is a Samsung screen, btw.

Another one:

It depends how noticeable it is for you. My screen has yellow blotches in the corners, which makes the screen look like there is dirt on it. A far cry from apple's claim that these screens are vibrant and high quality.

Apple doesn't say that the screens have uneven temperature and so always look dirty in parts now do they?

It's only the bottom left corner which has this weird yellow spot. Every other corner looks fine, so does the right side of my display. Only the left part is yellow. I went to the apple store and took a look at the other MacBooks, they were fine. No weird yellow spots, really great looking screens. No yellow at all, they had a "cold" color temperature.

I can't tell you what to do. But I would ask for a replacement.

Same thing with the one I got. I actually am on my second. The first had some weird depression that was definitely something that happened during manufacturing. I returned that one outright without even getting to test yellow issues.

The second is yellow in the bottom left. I can calibrate the display to make that area white, then the rest of the display gets a blue tint to it.

I'm done I think. I'm not playing Apple's display-lottery game. I wanted to go back to Mac, but paying $3200 for a machine (with applecare and taxes) is just too much to not get a perfect machine.
