What may be funnier is all the Macbook Pros in stores around me have only the Samsung on display for all the 15'' models. They all look great.

At the apple store by me they were all Samsung as well but the apple store is not the best place to examine the screen as BRIGHT LED lights shine from above...just saying. Hard to REALLY see the yellow and clearly they want the floor models to be in top condition.

I've told apple about this thread twice now, and just did so again. I wonder if they will ever acknowledge that they are having issues?

Well I received my Retina MacBook Pro this morning and sadly it also has the yellow tint and this one is even worse than my original one. Exactly the same situation as before with regards to placement though, extending outwards from the bottom right of the display to the centre.

This is my first replacement machine. I'm going to call them now and get yet another replacement.

So angry.

EDIT:// Tested with the console command, this one is a Samsung display. My last one was an LG display. So different screens entirely yet same problem. I think it is obvious by now that the issue is either in the backlight used or the bonding material between the front glass and the circuitry of the display panel. The yellow doesn't go away regardless of angle it just changes colour slightly (as does the rest of the display).

Do you know whether your replacement shipped from a local facility or from the factory?

Factory I presume, it came from China like my first one did. Took 8 days to get here too.

I'm on the phone with Apple right now they are doing me another order with the fastest shipping they have, hope it arrives faster than this one did

They claimed they were going to check mine first. I don't really believe them. I think apple is going to be forced to issue a press statement about this fiasco eventually. Just wow!

Ask them if they can acknowledge whether they are having issues. Please?

Last week I asked them if this is a common problem and was told "Oh no this is very rare" today I asked this rep, completely different person and was told "no, this is very rare" almost verbatim. Sounds scripted.

i would say get your money back, as I have had 4 replacements with creaking and now just want refund.

You should not have high hopes for your next one either, it's a common problem with apple nowadays. 0 QC!

My problem is that I really need a computer. So, I can't just wait. So, frustrating! My replacement better be up to par.

If this 3rd unit has the same problem I'm going to get a refund and call it quits.

I have compared my rMBP with some others and mine is more yellow than some rMBP. But there are also rMBP that are way more yellow than mine. So now I"m confused.

So a replacement can be better but also worse than my current rMBP based on what I have seen. It's one friggin lottery.

I asked for a replacement. I'm going to open it in the store and compare it with my current machine. The best of both machine I will keep since I'm already on my 2nd machine. Or perhaps I'll ask for a refund if the new machine has a great white screen and wait for Broadwell with IGZO display.

Do you mean yellow overall or more uneven yellow?

The Samsung yellow corner problem has been driving me nuts. I've had my rMBP w/750m for 7 days now hoping I could live with it but I just can't for the $2600 spent. Mine is going back tonight and I might wait for reviews of the new Dell XPS 15 with IGZO that's coming out.

Overall yellow. The sad thing is, if you look hard enough, you will always notice some uneven yellow or white. I have not seen 1 rMBP that has 100% perfect even white when I was paying attention to it.

I think most people would feel that my rMBP has a perfect even yellow tint. But you'll see some unevenness if you try looking for it.

I'm returning my 2.6 (Samsung - it's yellow compared to LG).

Even though the local stores may have the maxed out 2.6 - I want to have a "freshly" made machine. Is it just me?

I just returned my base 15" to exchange for the top tier model but now worried that I will receive a Samsung screen.

There is unevenness and then there is unevenness. All these displays are going to have some unevenness. I don't think it's acceptable though for it to be so bad that it's immediately noticeable whenever doing anything that has a white or grey background.
