Just got my replacement.

Previous one had a dead pixel so I sent it back. It also had minor yellow tinting on the bottom right side, rest of the white was good. It was a LG SJE1.

New one is really perfect, no tinting, also a SJE1. The white on this panel is just beautiful and it has even backlighting.

You're lucky! I'm sitting here with bated breath myself.

It's a matter of principle. It's the only way for Apple to realize they can't start suddenly cutting corners and still charge a premium.

This is the new Apple, unfortunately unless the customer speaks, we're gonna have to get used to it.

I guess you weren't here when last year's rMBPs had faulty screens. Or when the iPad 3 had green and purple splotches on the screen. Or when the original iPod Touch showed blacks as a kind of glowy-blue. Or when the original white MacBooks had mushy trackpads

Apple's build quality has always been overrated. You're right in that for what they charge you should keep returning your laptop until they get it right, but these issues are nothing new and I wouldn't expect any change from Apple any time soon

I just received my replacement from apple. For those of you who have not been reading this thread the whole time, here's some background info.

I originally ordered a 750M macbook pro from Apple two days after the release of the new models. It arrived and I noticed a few days later that the screen had yellow blotches in the corners. I called Apple up and asked for a replacement. I wanted them to mail me a replacement first and then pick up the current machine. Apple refused to do this, even though I asked them multiple times and said that I really needed the computer for work. I ended up agreeing anyway, because I hated the yellow blotches.

3 days go by and I receive no confirmation from Apple or any sign that they are going to collect my current faulty model. So, I went to the Apple store online and decided to ask for a replacement there. As I need a computer for work, I went down to KRCS and bought another one. I noticed when I got home that the screen also had yellow blotches in the bottom corners. So, I returned it the next day and got a replacement. The replacement also had yellow blotches. So, I returned it immediately in the store right then and there and walked out.

By this time, I was seriously considering buying a Dell. However, I decided to call Apple up when I got home. I was furious with them on the phone, and they transferred me up 3 tiers in their system. Apple eventually agreed to send me another one immediately, said I could keep the current one as long as I needed to transfer information, and that they would check my replacement at the factory before sending it to me to be sure the screen was alright.

Did Apple really check my replacement for me? I don't know! But, I'm happy to report that as far as I can tell right now, the replacement has no yellow blotches. Also, as far as I can tell, it is not creaking. (My first machine started creaking later, so it may yet start.) Remember I just got the computer and started it up, so I will report back if any issues are discovered. I hope they are not!

Not as good as my replacement screen that's for sure if the picture is accurate. Is the picture representative of what you see?

Nope not at all in real life it looks awesome, I posted another pic earlier which actally looks alot better.

Can you post a pic of your new one?

Does mine at least look uniformed?

Really, pictures aren't great at showing these things. Check for yourself. If it looks uniform to you, then that's good enough.

I just returned mine through fed ex. The screen is definitely yellow. This website is a perfect test. The whites on this site on my 2012 MBP were white. They were yellow on my rMBP.

What's deleted? lol

I wanted to make a general reply to the thread, But i clicked on reply under your comment by accident. Sorry fitgirl

ok, thanks - this confirms my assumption that the A019 are really great this time and the A022 are showing the "yellow-bottom"-issue

So, I noticed something about my replacement computer. The SSD aint perfectly silent. Whenever I copy a file I can hear it. It's like a very faint sounding old fashioned hard drive. Apparently, SSD's can do this. The sound is coming right from where the SSD is located in this computer.

Anyway, I'm not asking for a replacement, because this is my 4th now. haha! The screen is perfect and it doesn't creak. The case feels much studier. If the SSD fails, I can just have Apple put a new one in.

BUT JESUS CHRIST APPLE WORK ON YOUR QUALITY CONTROL!
