Yellow spots were getting worse, contacted Apple today and they're sending a new one out whilst letting me keep my old one due to needing a computer. Very happy with Apple's CS always top notch.

I went to a Mac reseller today and all Retina displays (both 13" and 15" late 2013) were slightly yellow at the bottom just like mine. If you move a finder window up and down the screen you can clearly see this.

My replacement came and it's a Sammie. A022. Yellow and all. 3 Samsung screens in a row. Getting tired of this.

Was this within your 14 day return policy? I am sadly approaching three weeks. LG screen and is definitely yellow. It seemed to be fine before the EFI update for the Nvidia cards. Is it possible this could have changed the color of the screen?

My first one was an LG Display, it was denoted as A019 and it had the yellowing. My second one was a Samsung with the A022 model number and it had the same yellowing in the same place as the LG had.

I really don't think it matters which panel you get, in my opinion the issue is either with the light bar or the way the front glass is being bonded to the LCD polarizing film.

I feel like I am going crazy!

With the yellow tinted Samsung screens, do you notice if contrast is worse compared to the cooler LG screens?

My LG screen looked vibrant and the Samsung one looks a little more "dull". First one had the creaking problem and this one is sturdy with no creak

I think the colours look better on the Samsung display from what I have seen. It's warmer and just looks better, except if you are going to be comparing white backgrounds. But this is subjective.

I think someone needs to do measurements which display has the more accurate colours.

Luckily yes, so glad I decided to contact them instead of settling for the one I've got.

Yeah, mines LG too, everything else about the laptop is outstanding, just a shame it started to developing the yellowing on the bottom half of the screen.

I was having withdrawals too, but it helped me get some work done.

My SSD has stopped making noises. So, I haven't swapped them yet.

However, the computer does make a quiet electronic sounding clicking noise whenever under load. It's only noticeable in a quiet room when the fans are on idle.

I had a titanium powerbook G4 that did the exact same thing, and it never broke or had any problems. So, I'm thinking that the noise is nothing to be concerned about.

Anyone else's computer make faint clicking noises when under load?

Don't tel me it's the fans! It's not. It only does it when scrolling or something like that and has nothing to do with the fans.

Honestly these pictures aren't helping because as other posters have pointed out already the camera will alter the images and it's not a human eye. It's hard to tell from any of these pictures what is really going on.

Quu can you give me a summary of where you are seeing the yellowing and how much of the screen?

I swear I see a small area of yellow like two inches left of the bottom right, but no one else I show it to can see it...I swear I am going crazy lol

Did I win the Lottery? Just received LG for my replacement

I placed a re-order of the 2.6 immediately after I returned my 2.6 Sammy. But I was on the phone with Apple Customer Service and the Apple Care Service advisor for a good bit after I placed my re-order.

The screen looks great. I previously ordered a 2.3 as well (that one was a LG but had a creaky screen).

As soon as FedEx delivered my 2.6, I ripped her opened and begin to look at the Color profile and ran the terminal Xcode. I had to scorrer (spell check) / look for for the terminal code - finally found it.

my 2.3 with LG
ioreg -lw0 | grep "EDID" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
Color LCD
LP154WT1-SJE1
DCN335401XGFD4NA6
Color LCD

my 2.6 with LG
ioreg -lw0 | grep "EDID" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
Color LCD
LP154WT1-SJE1
DCN341701M0FF0NBZ

FTW: Apple store is now offering Extended Return policy!!! Ordered the 2.6 on 11/8; I clicked on "Return" and it shows 1/7/14 as the return date.

If it had been a little spot in the corner I probably would have kept it but coming out so far in to the display it's very noticeable for me. I showed it to my wife and she didn't see it just looking at the display head on, but as soon as I took the Systems Preferences window and moved it from the top left of the display to the bottom right she noticed the colour shift instantly to cat-piss yellow.

Did the color shift when you changed the angle of the display? I am thinking this is my issue: at the angle I use it at, it seems slightly discolored in the bottom right.

If I stand far back or change the angle, it isn't as noticeable. Is that still considered an issue you think?

To be honest yellow tinting in only one part of the display shouldn't be happening even at wild angles. I've never had a laptop display where one corner turned yellow and the rest didn't even if I looked at it from below. The whole display should shift uniformly not just one little area that means there's a problem with it.

As I've said a few times in the topic, if you can see it and it's a problem for you, exchange it. Don't settle past your return period and then realise "I can't live with this!" only to be stuck with it.

It is just frustrating because I feel crazy doing another replacement. What if they don't notice? That kind of thing.

At this point I kind of want to just return it and buy again to start over haha

Keep exchanging until you're satisfied is my advice. These things cost too much to settle for a defective unit.
