Looks better then mine

I am not really sure this is yellow tinting. My screen in my opinion looks fine. I use my iPhone 5s as a camera area I get a very similar picture this is likely more a white balance issue for our cameras

I happen to think this particular display looks very good with an overall uniform illumination
Changes you see your fairly symmetric I'm both sides of the display

Unless somebody can convince do not believe this is an issue.
By the way on Saturday I picked up The 15 inch retina display 2.3 GHz with 16 GB of RAM. My serial number had an M for the display as a date and by using the terminal command it is a Samsung display

I hate to say I think some of you people are looking for a problem that is not existing on some of these displays

Were you referring to my display looking good with with an overall uniform illumination?

Does the "perfect" screen (by perfect I just mean a screen without a yellow tint) actually exist? I've been through three computers and all of them had the same problem (2 Samsungs, 1 LG).
This is really frustrating. Do you guys think this problem will be fixed by December?

Out of curiosity how much would it be to replace the retina display screen once it's out of warranty?

Got my second mac.
Screen was a bit better, but the whole thing creaks a lot.
I contacted apple, they are sending me a new one, and have promised to check it first to make sure I get a good one.
They are letting me keep this one until it comes, so apple is being pretty good about this.

Is there any yellow tinting on your display?

No yellow tinting, but a fair amount of backlight bleeding at the top left corner and right side, when the background is dark and brightness is high

Lucky you lol I have a very subtle yellow tint on mine on the bottom right hand side.

I have finally received my refund for my rmbp 15", with creaking and yellow screen issues.

I feel that over a month has already gone since apple updated to haswell and broad well is on its way. Do you think it's good idea to wait for broadwell? And if yes, when do you guys think apple will upgrade to it?

Apple next year will be moving away from Retina (right now the 13" are using the old stock of retintas from last year to just get rid of them) before they introduce IGZO... so everyone is buying old retina with haswell. Have to get rid of old stock of displays to cut down the money loss.

You might get a perfect white screen now but after time yellow will develop I seen this happen on my friends 13" haswell just last week, he had a perfect white and now its developing @ one of the corners... and he is over the 14day return policy ...

Soo by the time you sale your haswell rmbp screen might be all yellow and noone will buy it :( hence why i settled for a maxed out AIR 13" until IGZO comes out, i7/8/256 is faster than for same price 13" 2.4/8/256... not to mention 14hour battery.

Yellow tint across whole screen and noticeable muddy left-lower corner.

Edit: This is a full-black image with the brightness maximum and the room lights off.

I compared my wife's 2010 MBP w/o retina to my 2013 w/ retina side by side in the dark. There is no doubt there is a yellowish tint to mine, But hers has a bluish tint. The retina displays do run a little warm, But the eyes do get used to it, Just like the bluish cool displays. I reinstalled the os from scratch and i am happy. In conclusion, The retina displays run warm. I decided to keep this beast.

The eyes do get used to different colour temperatures, and I personally would even prefer a little warm (or yellowish) tone over to too cool (or blueish) colour temperature. But if the screen is too warm or too cool, I would I find very hard to accept that as the colours wouldn't be anywhere near what they should be. Perhaps even a greater problem would be if the screen uniformity is all over the place, as there's no remedy to that. And for many users here the uniformity indeed has been pretty bad.

I thought you folks would get a kick out of this side-by-side comparison between my current rMBP and the 7-year-old WhiteBook I was using for the past three months. This photo was taken with both laptops showing the same, plain white wallpaper.

(Note: Brightness on the 15" was drastically reduced to match the MacBook's pathetic old backlight. And that's not a defect, but rather the reflection from a lamp you see on the left side of the retina MBP.)

Anyone else notice a difference? :D

Did you take the pic with an iphone?

Its only yellow when i compare it to my wifes cool screen. For example what is the true color of this webpage? My wife's laptop shows the colors to be violet. Mine shows it to be a slight beige.
