This is frustrating.
I'm frustrated that they keep giving me this BS about not knowing about the problem. It is statistically improbable that I'd receive 4 machines direct from China all with the same (and obvious) defect which they don't know about. I'm convinced at this point they've been told to never admit to any kind of widespread manufacturing / design fault to keep them safe from a class action suit.
I have been a lurker in these forums for quite a while now (since the disappointing Feb 2013 bump), and have been following your story with shock at what Apple are getting away with. Maybe there is a silver lining to this - and I am quite serious - how about looking into a novel crowd-sourced class action law suit prepared by a very disgruntled online community? The sheer publicity that would arise out of it would compel Apple to acknowledge the problem and do something significant about it, instead of treating its target audience with such contempt.
If it was the iPhone or iPad that would be viable but they sell so few 15" Retina MacBook Pro's that I doubt it would ever gain the amount of people necessary to get media attention.
In my opinion we'd need to get at-least 100 people involved and I doubt we'd be able to find 20.
Received my MacBook just yesterday. Have done the IR and yellow tint tests, happy to report that my screen is close to being lawless
My screen is an 2nd gen LG; LP154WT1-SJE1

every apple employee i've talked to throughout this process has been exceedingly nice and sympathetic while all claiming to know nothing about any issue and without taking any concrete steps to make the situation better.
i m on my 4th one... I am beginning to believe this problem exist in all the rmbp haswell and those who are saying their display is fine just can't tell or don't know where to look for it. I am contemplating weather or not to just getting a refund for it. I really don't want to but I am beginning to feel cheated.
Sorry to burst your bubble but. I had the same screen and there was a noticeable yellow tint bottom left corner
Let's see the pics then.
There are good ones out there it is just not easy to get one. I gave up after four. I may try again after broadwell is released.
No need to be sorry; somebody is bound to burst that infamous bubble sooner rather than later and why not let it be the good people at the MacRumors forum.
Yeah sure, let me know what those discerning eyes reckon.

Update on my situation
Got a replacement with letter R
Samsung display and same problem but I'm done it exchanges,. Just going to keep this one.
Keeping a yellow, defective computer? Why not keep your old one instead?? You are basically telling Apple "I'll take whatever you give me, so no need to care about quality".
