The iPhone 8 Plus is the best phone ever made

Well reading through this thread I’m reassured and glad I don’t hang around with tech geeks who will judge and laugh at me for using an 8+! lol. Christ on a bike the Apple marketing machine and the pressure of staying fashionable reaches pathetic levels on here sometimes. Hugely entertaining though.

I don’t think anyone said that in this thread.

But we are secretly judging you for not dropping $ 1100 on a gold UAE-approved giant phone.

My proposition is this. The iPhone 8 Plus is the best phone ever made.

Touch ID. (Works every time, in any light, no matter what my facial condition or angle is, such as bleary-eyed and sideways on a pillow in the morning. And Touch ID is super fast. Doesn't work when finger is wet, but that's no big deal for 99% of people 99% of the time.)

No intervening screen to swipe away after using Touch ID.

I miss the touchid for sure. When the phone is on the desk I could unlock and do everything without the need to unlock it with face. well I had the 6s plus and I feel that is the best phone ever made. I had ios 9.3.2 on it with pptp vpn

for me the best part of 6s plus was

ios 9.3.2 where pptp existed and that is not blocked by the provider for voice over ip like whatsapp calls.
headphone jack and charge at the same time
unlock using touch id
force touch. Just simple experience.

I got the Xs Max and have kept the 6s plus on side with ios 9.3.2. I do like the Xs Max a lot as the size is perfect.

I also have a brand new still in plastic ios 9.3.3 6s plus in a box. Its my stash. :)

This is my only annoyance with the 8+ or any massive phone for that matter!

Clothing companies and fashion just don’t design for people to have deep pockets to house these beasts. I often have to take it out of my pocket to either stop it sticking into my pelvis or fall out of my pocket completely. The larger screen is great in use but the portability is something you ever get used to, you just adapt lol.

[doublepost=1539593639][/doublepost]Agreed.

The best iphone will have to be the iPhone XS Max without a doubt.

Firstly you will know that it’s a quality product once you unbox the phone and hold it in your hand.

Secondly the screen is similar to the iPhone X last year but much better than the LCD screens. Yes Apple’s LCD screens are the best in the market but OLED is something else. You will appreciate it more as you use it.

Thirdly the battery capacity with the iPhone XS Mac is the best. Can get nearly 3 days of use from a single charge.

The 4th and obvious point is the size. Sure not everyone likes a big phone but I do and for me the screen size matters.

I have used all iPhones except iPhone 8/8 Plus and I am glad that Apple finally got rid of the home button. IPhones have all looked the same since iPhone 6. Was getting boring.

The Bolded in your post seems like a bit of hyperbole. I don’t think anyone would literally ‘laugh’ or ‘Judge’ you for having an iPhone 8+, it is simply your choice of whatever phone you want, and not to mention outside a Tech forum, who cares what iPhone you would have? Nobody does. (And I have never Encountered anyone who has judged someone else for a Phone and no one should be doing this either, its sophomoric).

For the record, I think for some who do have an iPhone 8+, {such as yourself}, some simply can’t afford the most expensive iPhone, which there is nothing wrong with having an older model iPhone, essentially when they all really do the same thing, it just is the separation of some exclusive features for the higher end models.

LOL, no the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus is the best phone.

1. It does not have a stupid and fragile glass back
2. It is better looking than the 8 Plus
3. It is thinner and lighter than 8 Plus

I guess all of Apple’s new phones are good and in some way better than previous models.

However what’s bad with Apple is that their software is getting more buggy. They need to work on that.

Talk about marketing. If I wore those shoes as a kid I was considered poor.
Now there fashionable

I agree with pockets not being deep enough

4.) The Jet Black Casing looked horrible when scratched due to the anodizing finish. Great color, terrible finish that really had no decent solutions to prevent even the most minimal scratches.

I'm using mine caseless, it's two years old now and it does not 'look horrible' at all. Some scratching, sure, but not that bad (I've seen worse though). A device like this is meant to be used, there's also beauty in those scratches. Ask the Japanese.

The main beauty lies in the seamless look, like it's made from one piece. It feels like that too and it's less slippery than the normal anodized aluminum. Those dark grey finishes they have now don't quite achieve the seamlessness unfortunately.

My proposition is this. The iPhone 8 Plus is the best phone ever made.

No stupid ugly notch.

16:9 aspect ratio, like all TV shows, all movies, and everything on YouTube.

Big screen. (Not as tall as X/Xs/Xs Max, but when you continuously scroll, you look at the top of the screen, not the bottom. Extra screen length is useless in vertical mode.)

LCD with no PWM. (Meaning no eye strain for those of us sensitive folks who use the phone in the dark for long periods and need to dim the screen below 50% to perhaps 10%.)

LCD on iPhone 8 Plus is as good as OLED. (Well that's my opinion. I put them side-by-side and I can't tell the difference. And if there is a difference, it's so slight that it makes no material difference.)

401 ppi. Perfect. (326 ppi on the XR is fuzzy and acceptable. "Liquid LCD" is a con by Apple. Put an iPhone 7 Plus next to an iPhone 7 and you'll see the difference. I'm not going back to iPhone 4 resolution.)

Great battery life. (Apparently in theory the XR will be better, but that may be because of the lousy screen.)

Home button. (Okay, not that important.)

3D Touch. (Not on the XR. C'mon Apple, it's really useful for quick shortcuts into apps.)

Two cameras for 2X optical zoom. (Not on the XR.)

Battery percentage on the main screen. (Yes!)

Fast processor. (I compared the iPhone 8 Plus with the XS Max. Speed is the same except for a split second or a full second here or there, but nothing significant.)

No connectivity issues. (None, nada, zero, zilch.)

Price is not insane.

And finally bezels. (Yes bezels. Get the white version and you can see your phone on a dark background. I got the black bezels. Big mistake. I keep leaving my phone in the car because I can't see it, even with a white case.)

So I'm sticking with the best phone ever made. I love my iPhone 8 Plus.

No one will have to pry it from your hands . . . in a few years no one will want it and with out a doubt you will be complaining about how slow is has become.

LCD vs OLED, and you can't tell the difference ? - hard to believe but OK, lucky you. Is it much better, well... meh

Touch ID, does not work everytime. My wife and kids must change skin every so often ;o). It never works for them, but always works for me. However FaceID works every time for everyone. Only thing that sucks is, that it needs to be vertical.

As far as I know the 8 Plus is just a better version of the 7 Plus, which has been my favourite and sturdiest iPhone ever—I’m using it to type this, even. I also see no reason to upgrade any time soon, especially at the current premium.

I wish converse still cost £25 like they did when I was a teen. It’s not marketing that made me buy them, it’s the fact all the grunge rockers wore them when I was a teen lol. I think I’ve owned about 30 pairs over the years and did get mocked once upon a time but now they are in fashion.

I made that statement from reading some of the posts here and although people may not say the things they post here out loud, it’s clear they think it.

I don’t own an 8+ because I can’t afford the most expensive models, I do so because it’s less of a need and I don’t agree with the pricing. When all iPhones do the same thing and these days we pay premiums for slightly brighter screens and different aesthetics, I find it hard to feel the need to pay more. I don’t judge those that do though which is why some of the comments here seem quite pitiful.

I have to say when I’ve compared LCD and OLED side by side I notice a difference but not a huge one. I wouldn’t pay more for OLED seeing as how good the screen feels on the iPhone I have put it that way. My content is still very pleasant to view and I don’t feel I’m getting an inferior experience so that’s really all that matters.

If the charging socket in my iPhone6 had not become so worn, the charger plug would not stay in and charge my phone, i would not have moved to get a new iPhone.

But i had to have a phone and after looking at all the new models, and their prices i thought what i could use and not spend around $300 more was the Apple iPhone8Plus, and it's doing all i expected.

Yes it's larger and does not hide in my pants pockets, like my old trusty 6 but i am adjusting to this and having a larger screen is a joy to my old eyes.

I might add getting a Samsung wireless charger, is going to make sure a charging socket does not fail in my new 8Plus.

I might also add with the money i saved by buying the 8Plus and not the 10, i was able to move from my old iPad4 to a new iPadPro.

IMO, the 8+ is one of the best phones Apple has ever made. Of course this is all opinion. I passed on the X due to it being not quite wide enough. I do a lot of photo editing on my phone and the difference between X and 8+ is significant.

I am likely going to the XS or XSM and know it comes with trade offs. The HDR on the new iPhones is amazing. WTS, I am holding off until I feel like the RF issues have been resolved by Apple, carriers or both. I have done the help-Apple-fix-post-launch-hardware.. and I am not in the mood to pay over $1K fore a phone and do that.

I will miss the 8+ and it isn’t easy to give up. I have been using with without a case and the glass and black just looks so good. I have had several people ask me if I was using the new iPhone. Funny.

Sort of missed my 8+, simply because of its superior Touch ID. Face ID on my XS Max sucks.

Also viewing video on XS Max is the same as 8+. Same viewing size.
