Though there is no widget for either of them but the apps are good to use and shows the accurate weather updates. Solar is only compatible with iOS 7 yet and so it works perfectly on my iPad. However, you can try Dark Sky which has a smart widget for iOS 10.

Weather Underground the widget is pretty good but I do wish you could reduce the size of certain things e.g. the large green circle and the weather icon of today takes up so much space. I've also noticed the text behind todays weather icon is cut off on my iPhone 5s running the latest iOS10. I would also love to see the option to see the expected percentage + mm of rain for today (per hour) and the upcoming days (mm's, percentage is already there). Currently it also lacks weather details for upcoming days.
I does also cost you 1.99 dollar/euro a year (instead of once 2-4 euro/dollar) though but it's still pretty cheap.
Unfortunately Dark Sky is not available in the Netherlands.
I did found a few other great widgets though that are almost perfect:
- Widget Weather by Trond Rossvoll - 1.99 dollar once
+ very nice UI
+ lots of widget options to select from
+ can set to not use GPS (saves battery usage)
+ shows today + 7 days ahead in widget
+ can choose between two forecast agencies
+ can show small rain bar for upcoming hours although not per minute like e.g. Dark Sky - US only or e.g. Buienalarm widget - NL only)
+ you can set the update interval
- lacks showing percentage of rain expected (the chance of rain) for upcoming hours/days in widget. It does show mm though for upcoming hours and days which is great
- lacks minute by minute rainforecast
- awfull app icon + they definitely should switch to another set of Climacons icons which looks much more modern and nice.

Both Living Earth and Fresh Air widgets are too basic compared to Widget Weather you mentioned above which can show a graph or detailed forecast. I usually check weather only a few times in a day, so don't keep it on the widget..just open the app when needed. Otherwise launching the widget screen triggers location services even if you just want to open a launcher or something else.
Also FreshAir widget requires Location services enabled even when you have favorite locations saved.

Not all weather widgets need GPS to refresh but only internet. In some cases you can also select the update interval (to save GPS/internet) For example:
- widget weather - can turn off GPS use and update interval can be set (15 min > 48 hours or manual update - double tap)
- Weather Live - can turn off GPS use and select city, update interval can't be changed though
- Simple weather widget - can turn off GPS use and select city, update interval can't be changed though
I believe other widgets that I mentioned can also work without GPS.
Would be nice if they updated the widgets to iOS 10 style.BeWeather2 is still my go to weather app....
iOS 10 has a somewhat different style to the widgets and additional functionality of having a non-expanded and expanded widget that can show more. The ones that haven't been updated kind of stick out among the ones that have been.
Oh okay. However in the BeWeather2 app itself your able to do that in settings somewhat. I would still leave it the way it is, I like that set up and even with the newer widgets I find myself leaving some with "show more" rather than to keep switching back and forth....to each there own. BeWeather2 widget functionality was and is still ahead of others in my honest opinion. You can basically set up the widget just the way you want. IMHO, BeWeather2 is still the best customizable weather app on the market.

Perhaps having options to use the new style or the old style would do the trick.

Even though I use the "landfills" weather data, it's the nearest one to me...I live in the extreme suburbs (some say country). I could use a different one, but it's actually to far and would be less accurate. Not to mention it's no longer an active landfill. I do believe that in my many years on earth I can figure that out.
I also love the BeWeather 2 app and widget as well.
It would still be good though to see more days in the widget as well like widget weather does (also not updated to iOS10 widget style with 'show more' and that one lacks the rain percentage change). Widget Weather can also customise a lot as well like BeWeather2.
