My upgrade got to the final stage before showing me the connect to iTunes icon and then nothing. Since then, I've restored to 1.1.3, and back to 1.1.1 but now I'm stuck.
Is there a way around the "No SIM card installed. Insert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate iPhone"? It says this if I put in the original AT&T SIM or any of my other SIMs.
The phone was a US 1.1.1 unlocked with AnySIM and jailbroken. I'm guessing it's bricked for the moment.
Just done it, works perfectly.
My iphone:
Imported US 4GB, unlocked with iPhoneSimFree.
Jailbroken 1.1.2, activated
Several homebrew apps installed (including MobileScrobler)
Nate Trus app ran perfectly on Windows Vista x86
I had to hit refresh sources in installer to get the 1.1.3 soft upgrade
The soft upgrade said that there was a script error.
After OKing this message, i restarted the phone and 1.1.3 was installed, and activated, running on O2 (UK)
ALL 3rd party apps were remoed from the home screen (bar installer)
ALL 3rd party apps installed remained in the installer uninstall menu
on attempting a reinstall of Mobile scrobbler, i got a message stating that it was for 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 only
Attmpted to install other applications (Multitouch) which installed without problem.
New google maps software appears to be present, although not worked thus far.
One last important note, Safari will not allow you to import new sources anymore, it just parses the XML
EDIT: Does anyone know where nate stored the 1.1.3 firmware? I just realised that it failed to delete it, i now have a gaping HUGE 300mb file on my tiny 4gb iphone![]()
Yes, it's a folder called "softupdate" I think. It's in /var/root/Media/. You can delete it.

Why are people doing this when it seems to cause a lot of bricks, ringtones not working, location(google) not working, etc.....
I want to jailbreak, but I want all my phone functions to work. Any way to fix them yet?
did you not read the 3 sentences full of exclamations saying DON'T do this procedure on an unlocked phone?
none of the ringers work. Not even the default ones.

? It doesn't touch the baseband so it doesn't matter. I did this yesterday afternoon and it worked fine on my 1.1.2 AnySim 1.1.2u unlocked iPhone, so don't spread fud here. Especially if you haven't even done it yourself!
He was responding to my procedure which DOES update the baseband.
WTF? My iTunes purchased music and my ringtones won't play. What is going on!! I WANT FIX PLEASEEE!!!
