Ok I'm finding heat to be a problem. Nothing else opened but Safari, just browsing websites (no media, click-to-flash enabled), gets CPU to 60C. With Lion it was low 50's. Also with regards to battery usage, just using Safari, seems to be using 18.0 watts vs. 15 in Lion.

Not a bug. That's an autocorrect shortcut for ellipsis.

Nope, it’s not an ellipsis, you can select every single dot. It’s three dots for me at least.
Also, I can’t think of a situation where an activated auto correct would be helpful in an address bar.

Neither of those is the case for me. I can do case-sensitive searches and it sorts by Date Modified just fine.

Hi. Are you sure?

When you first open TextEdit, it will pop up a dialog asking you for file to open. That is fine. Go into a large directory of files with different dates. Make sure the sort by is "date modified", the most useful (besides by name). Notice it is sorted correctly. Open any text file now.

Now go to textedit File menu and select Open. Oddly, the "Earlier" section is sorted in reverse order! That is so odd. I have a feeling there are a lot of duplicated code doing stuff in OSX. If it works in one case, it should work in ALL cases. But apparently, the code is probably not being reused modularly, but duplicated here and there. One duplicated code having a bug, the other not.

My mistake on the not being able to search by case-sensitivity. I think the "down arrow" should be bigger, and not so close to the magnifying glass icon, (it is currently very small right inside the icon). Everyone won't mistake a combobox arrow because it is separate and by itself and big, and at the RIGHT side of the entry field. I didn't even know you can click on that magnifying glass and get options.
I have a feeling the GUI is sort of designed haphazardly, as there is a lack of consistency in this GUI design. In Safari, the magnifying glass you can click on as well, but it has no "down arrow" graphic inside it. In LaunchPad, the magnifying glass has no "down arrow" graphic inside it, and you CAN'T click on it. On the desktop, the magnifying glass you can click on, but there doesn't seem to be an ability to get an option list because you already clicked on it. They would need to put another magnifying glass icon inside the popped up entry field? And let you click on it again?

Messages in Mountain Lion

Hey guys,

Just wondering, if I were to send a message from Mountain Lion, to an iPhone (iMessage).

If the iPhone happens to be out of range (offline), in ML, it shows that message has been sent, though not delivered. Does anyone know if the message is eventually sent, or will it sit in server obscurity?

Yes, if zoomed in, two finger pinch in zooms out to 100%, then will activate the tab view.

That's not cool. What if I'm zoomed in and comparing a picture in one tab to a picture in another one? I have to constantly zoom in and out every time I switch tabs? That sucks.

Swap the tabs with a keyboard shortcut or by clicking back and forth. Tab view isn't meant to be the end all switcher, it's meant as a quick overview of all your open tabs.

You can still switch tabs as you did before, either by clicking them or by using Cmd+Shift+Left/Right Arrow. It's an ADDITIONAL method of switching tabs.

I'm not an idiot. I know the basic methods of switching tabs. I'm talking about to activate tab expose. I don't think they thought this all the way through.

But it's not like I use the zoom function often so it won't make a difference to me.

I've had the pleasure of reporting six bugs this week. Some quite curious ones, but I hope they fix the battery life. It's worse than Lion if you can believe that.

9% remaining and I've hardly used it - Shocking.

And the random heat spikes are annoying. I have a hot water bottle constantly on my nap. Didn't get that with Lion as much.

There's still much to fix imho, not to mention the graphics glitches.

I love all the new features, but is it enough to keep me from rolling back to Lion or indeed Snow Leopard?

Still, I'm sure they will fix it.... I think I'll wait till two or three versions down the line.

In experiencing none of this.

You know what I've noticed...they haven't changed the Desktop and Screensaver Icon in the System Preferences. The icon is the wallpaper of Snow Leopard...

APPLE! Y U NO CHANGE IT TO ML WALLPAPER?!

Because even though they had time to remake the Automater and Trash icons from scratch, they apparently didn't have time to provide a minor update to any of the desktop icons.

A two finger swipe across the title bar of any app throws the app to the next/previous space. It puts the window in the same place on the screen as it was on the previous space, even over windows that are already occupying the space.

Really? For me, it does nothing except for on the app store, where the screen flashes that background texture of the app store..
