National keyboard i messages

Hi.

I am from Denmark and now I can type the danish letters ÆØÅ directly in messages instead of holding A down and scrolling.

Not sure if this is a new feature or not, but when you are installing an app, you can pause the installation by tapping on the app. Discovered this yesterday when the app store was having problems. Might not be new though (and it may have already been mentioned).

Not new. I believe it came in 2.1

Actually, the reason I'm holding off on updating, despite the new features, is because I user Cycorder all the time, video recording my kids.

I'm so ticked that they didn't enable video recording for 3G users.

I think this is new....

Transition to and from landscape mode in the iPod app is a dissolve/fade effect instead of a rotational effect

Apps now seem to close while they are opening, if you press the home button, instead of waiting to fully load before they close.

Ipod 1x 2x 1/2x

I see on an audio podcast, there is now an option to play it back at 2 times speed or at half speed.

Also on videos and/or audio podcasts, theres a button to skip back 30 seconds.

Also, on podcasts, theres an email button to send an email hyperlink of that podcast to an email recipient

I'm actually pretty sure this is documented somewhere (on the phone I believe).

But if you are just at the home screen and click the home button it goes straight to spotlight. I thought it might be double click, but just one click.

I see in iTunes on the phone, they have added iTune U or something like that. It's in the more button.

The SMS bubble no longer displays "SMS" inside of it.

messages now has its own tab in the settings along with "store."

When logging on to a secure website the Name of the site turns green and has a lock on it (not the URL bar but the name above it).

• When the is iPhone vertical, videos played through the iPod app will fit to screen. In 2.X they always played as if the iPhone was horizontal. (found by MacGeekDC)

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I could have sworn I saw this in one of the announcements. Not as a feature per se, but they showed the video playing in portrait mode.

I see a hidden feature in Calendar is to add Invitees. I do not get that field. Is it only available to Exchange?

Thanks,

Jason

In one of the last iPhone OS updates Google Maps changed by default from Miles to Km in the UK and the only way to change it back was to change your region. This has now been fixed.

Please don't flame me if this has already been mentioned, the thread is huge (and yes I did read the first updated posting but still couldn't find it).

In More, tap Edit then drag the icons down to where you want them. This way if you want updates as a one button option you can just move the icon to the bottom.

Hi guys,

I had the More option in the app store this morning but now I have the Updates button but no redeem button (or an edit button to bring the redeem back).

Can anyone tell me how to get the More option back within the app store (I have the option in iTunes).

Thanks,
Richard.

I found one! When you make a call, you can hear a ringing noise in the ear piece.

Sorry...couldn't resist...

Oh, and Safari is snappier!:D

Thats been around since 2.*

Sure about that? That was one of my major reasons for looking at a Pre.

I know I could have multiple calendars from a single source, (I have always had 2 Mobile Me calendars - a work and personal one), however I am 99.9% sure you couldn't have calendars from multiple sources, (eg Exchange and Mobile Me).

Either way, the fact I can now see both has made me a happy bunny!

EDIT: You could be right TechFreak85. Found a Wikipedia article which says this from OS 2.0:

Calendar
Multiple calendars supported in Calendar with color coding (desktop colors only preserved if using Mobile Me)
New "Calendar" menu in "Settings"
Push calendar

However, I'm not sure of this includes calendars from multiple sources. I was 99.9% sure that previously when I enabled my Exchange calendar on my iPhone it said it would stop my Mobile Me calendar being sync'd (or something like that!).

Anyway, like I said, a happy bunny here in Oxfordshire!!

Does anyone know if Google reminder timers are working properly now on the iPhone? This one thing prevents me from using Google for my calendar over mobile me.
