I used to get Apple care, but haven’t for years and hate screen protectors. I think it’s OCD, but I can feel the difference and they’re more noticeable with no case.
I tend to upgrade every year now and have always got full value, even with some scratches and scrapes, so stopped worrying about it. I was much more protective when I held on to phones for a few years.

Like I said, I’m really impressed with how much more resilient iPhones are now.
I’m no stranger to OCD, so this might bother me as well. I could just do Apple Care by the month, so this would be an extra $100 if I continue upgrading every year.

I'm a bit in debate... when I got my 12 pro, the guy at the shop was laughing at me that I had AC+, a screen protector, and a case. I drop my phone once in awhile, and even with the apple silicone case, the back glass is now shattered. It must have landed just wrong. I ordered the 14 Pro in silver/white, and it's so pretty I'm thinking of going naked. The alternative would be the otterbox Figura case that's on the Apple website..it still lets the white shine through a bit. Hmm.

Will you still get AC+ regardless of going naked or clothed? I’m still debating on a case too, but planning on monthly AC+. Have you considered a clear case?

No case, no screen protector - nothing.

My current iPhone 12 has been this way for 2 years. The frame has zero dents or scratches. On the screen I can detect a small surface scratch on one of the corners, but even that is so small and faint that it’s virtually undetectable unless you look for it and turn the phone in front of your eyes so that light hits it properly.

It’s fallen on the floor (wood and hard tile) a couple of times without any effect. Otherwise also normal living without being too careful when setting the device on the table etc.

I have similar experiences with iPhone XS, although its screen got a couple more scratches. I think the Ceramic Shield on iPhones 12 and newer is doing something.

iPhone 14 pro will also continue this naked trend. It’s a use device, and I won’t stress over it. Positive experiences definitely so far.

Yeah, I will still get AC+ regardless. Thought about a clear case- I had one years ago that yellowed really badly, but I understand that some are better now. Have you tried any?

I have in the past as well, and also had issues with yellowing. I have heard that the Apple clear case doesn’t yellow, so I’m going to give that a shot on my 13PM. For my 14PM I may get the Apple clear case again, but these two have caught my eyes:

Does anyone know if Moshi or Caudabe clear cases are prone to yellowing?

Naked since iPhone 3GS and every year since. ✌🏼
Same, but once year earlier - iPhone 3G in 2008. I can't stand adding bulk to the phone and/or obscuring the nice design. I will sometimes throw a case on when I'm going to be in a situation where others are likely to handle my phone (taking pictures, etc) but otherwise, absolutely naked.

These do look nice, but I think they’re mainly for scratches and not really meant for drop protection — unless I’m mistaken. This brand and Peel look interesting. Have you used Totallee before?
They should work for minor drops too but of course they won´t protect the same way as a thicker one. But i am ok with that, i think i dropped my iPhone X a total of maybe 3-4 times during the 6 years i had it and not a single scratch or other damage to it and this was without any protection.

If there´s something i can´t stand, it´s those thick cases which adds unnecessary weight to it.

No, i never tried the totallee cases before but they have recieved really good reviews so that´s what i am basing my buying decision on.

My 14 Pro will be naked, sans when I'm at the beach or golfing -- then I'll slap a case on it for protection. But I'll also have AC+ on it for added peace of mind.

I personally can’t see the pleasure in not having a case on my iPhone. They are so fragile and rarely survive a drop on a hard surface without some form of damage. Even with AC you have the hassle of ordering a replacement which can all be avoided with a decent case. It takes all sorts though.
