Disconnect the camera/BT cable (check the known issues with NVIDIA cards on the first post and follow the links) and retry.Hello,
It is the Quadro K2000M...
What I did first was removing the card completely and then indeed, the boot issue disappeared, now I have 2 leds...Disconnect the camera/BT cable (check the known issues with NVIDIA cards on the first post and follow the links) and retry.
For now I decided to re-try with the GTX765 since this gives me no hardware issues at boot-time. Also noticed that the ROM got updated of this card since I flashed this one, will update it. I also will do the heatsink-mod (3-pipe) which seems obligatory for this card. Let you know how it goes...So my question is now: having these 2 cards, which one would you advice to continue with, the Quadro K2000M or the GTX 765? Thanks for your advice and patience.
I did the mod for the 3-pipe heatsink, installed the GTX765 and flashed it with the lateste ROM found on the first POST for this card. For now I decided to re-try with the GTX765 since this gives me no hardware issues at boot-time. Good to hear your card is working fine. The temperature problem has been described - you guess right - on the first post, too. You may consider replacing the ODD sensor onto the heat sink to get another fan / heat curve. Otherwise you will have to rely on Macs Fan Control entirely.I did the mod for the 3-pipe heatsink, installed the GTX765 and flashed it with the lateste ROM found on the first POST for this card.
For now it runs ok...

Happy with the result so far!
Tried to do benchmarking with Unique Valley but this showed me only a fix temp of 129C. Have no experience with benchmarking and do not know how to interprete this.
Will test it for some days and then try to install Monterey...
Nice, but keep in mind both cards crash on wake and both cards need a PRAM reset on boot in your iMac12,2.well, got this, Bluetooth is a magic as for me.
Still experimenting with my iMac
W6170m 2gb + s7100x 8gb, waiting for another s7100x
Well, when the main card is 7100 - mostly, I does not have to reset pram while first boot, also - mostly, no pram reset required while I’m using w6170 via adapters, I still have no idea, why I have fully working Bluetooth if the adapter is not connected to the motherboard just antennas connected to itNice, but keep in mind both cards crash on wake and both cards need a PRAM reset on boot in your iMac12,2.
I really appreciate your courage, meanwhile I moved the cards to other iMac11,x systems.
Still not clue how to correct this bug.
By the way as I understand, maybe I am wrong, but, the guy who sells those cards said that he has two types of them - one is with a lot of stickers and the second one is with few stickers, my system starts only when he sent me another card with a small amount of stickersWell, when the main card is 7100 - mostly, I does not have to reset pram while first boot, also - mostly, no pram reset required while I’m using w6170 via adapters, I still have no idea, why I have fully working Bluetooth if the adapter is not connected to the motherboard just antennas connected to it
You have OCLP installed, which is why the mouse works. My mouse works in Monterey too.Well, when the main card is 7100 - mostly, I does not have to reset pram while first boot, also - mostly, no pram reset required while I’m using w6170 via adapters, I still have no idea, why I have fully working Bluetooth if the adapter is not connected to the motherboard just antennas connected to it
The stock Atheros card is WiFi only…My wifi/bt adapter(as I understand that a there’s all in one with 3 antennas ) is unplugged from the motherboard
Yes, yes: Reading the docs and preparation is everthing….Hi, yesterday I changed the graphics card of my iMac 21 2011 from a 6750M to a WX 4150 found in an old Dell Inspiron PC, I think I installed it correctly.
However, since I'm stupid I didn't prepare anything before 🫠 So my macOS High Sierra boots without backlight, whether I do PRAM resets (where the chimes are abnormally long) or try to blind boot on a linux key, does not work.
I installed OpenCore but I don't think I can boot from it, since there is no boot picker.
So my question is: How to boot on OpenCore and how to flash the bios when you don't have access to the boot picker?
Thank you in advance for your answers !

(this is the High Sierra bug of the AMD vBIOS).
Thanks a lot for your message!Yes, yes: Reading the docs and preparation is everthing….
You hit the High Sierra but of the AMD cards. You can switch the internal LCD on by connecting an (additional) external display or just a display emulator stick to the working miniDP port. There is no software solution.
To boot into the Linux USB key you need to disconnect the internal HDD/SSD.
And I am pretty sure you do not boot OpenCore since it should enable the backlight on power/OpenCore boot while macOS High Sierra switches it off on macOS boot (this is the High Sierra bug of the AMD vBIOS).
You can force flashing a new vBIOS with theThanks a lot for your message!
Thanks to you, I managed to advance a little further: By disconnecting the hard disk, I managed to have access to OpenCore (without backlight) after reflection, research and all that… I agreed that it was better to use Windows and flash GPU rom on it.
So I use an external hard drive (which has already been used with the broken computer which had the graphics card so it worked directly) I tried to install the custom ROM (still without backlight or external screen) and that didn't want to install because SSID mismatch... so I searched in the thread a bit and someone shared a ROM of RX 560.
I tried and it worked straight away. I restart and OpenCore works with backlight.
I plug the hard drive back in and try to boot into MacOS… black screen. I haven't looked further for now
so I went back to Windows and I try the performance/temperature on Windows first, I will send a message when I have more advanced.

Please verify the type of the VRAM chips which are installed on your card.this is what happens when i try to start macos :
I managed to change the bios on linux, so it is that of the modified WX 4150.
On Windows I encountered a BOSD, but once I was on Ubuntu I realized that the iMac had installed the drivers for the Intel card, and this error came from there. Once in safe mode I disabled it, then restarted the computer, Windows was working.
I tried the Stray game that was on it, however the computer suddenly shut down. Possibly a power or cooling problem? The iMac is normally warm, not hotter than before. And the fans are pretty quiet.
So my question now is: how to make macOS work? And why did it crash you think?
This does not always happens, right? Is it vBios-specific or model-specific? Using Internetzel's vBios for a WX4150 has never given me any issues on my 12,1 iMac on Windows. I used the AMD Radeon Pro drivers for Dell located in their page. Installed them right away and have full acceleration. The iMac is used more than 60% of the time for gaming, things like Genshin, FFVII, Ys, etc.You can force flashing a new vBIOS with the-f

For my part i only used the bios from the first post and it’s working on Windows. Can you give more detail on the drivers you used? From the dell website or AMD? maybe a screenshot of device manager or something.
I have a 12,1 with a WX4150 and I can't get any drivers working. I've tried Pro, and Adrenaline and for Dell and for HP. Even the the driver Windows tries to automatically install (amd wx pro) causes a crash.
Then I have to go into safe mode and delete the driver.
Thanks.
