Seeing as it has a 2016 processor not sure geek bench scores is something people will bring up

Geekbench scores have been brought up in various reviews, and on this very page of this thread. They’re not a huge jump over last year’s model, but I’d say they’re still good. The A10 is still a beast. What does it matter when it came out if it’s still one of the most powerful mobile processors on the market, and still overkill for the type of users who choose this model over the Pro?
[doublepost=1522589791][/doublepost]In other news, apparently UPS Canada does absolutely nothing during holiday weekends, because my iPad has been “Order Processed: Ready for UPS” since late Thursday night...

A9 is not slow as well... A9’s Geekbench score beats my first generation Core i5 480M. You know what, my Lenovo ideaPad with this Core i5 480 never felt slow and Windows 10 runs on this laptop just fine. I actually feel at this stage, iOS 12 or 13 should perfome decently with A9 processor. My Lenovo ideaPad with Core i5 480 went through Windows 7, Windows 8 and Window 10 without problem. Windows is lot more heavy and demand than iOS. I would seriously question if Apple really tried to optimize iOS if iOS runs slow on A9 processors.

I guess we heard that Apple is not going to use OLED this year. As for faster LTE chip, do you mean one that supports 5G? I don' think 5G network is available in North America yet.

Actually, I was thinking about a faster LTE-A, but hey, future proofing would be interesting..

Got my new iPad today.
Have to say, coming from a mini 4, I am quite happy with the upgrade!
I was really worried about the non-laminated display, and yes, the difference is noticeable, but within an hour of using it I found that I don’t really care. After a few days I probably won’t even notice or think about it anymore.
There’s certainly noticeable heft coming from a mini 4, but it’s actually more comfortable in my hands than I expected. Overall, the form factor actually exceeds my expectations.
The performance definitely surpasses the Mini 4. Everything is faster and smoother. Feels just like my iPhone 8 Plus, even though that device has an A11 and 3GB of RAM.
Battery seems really solid, considering it came out of the box with 80%, I’ve been using it nonstop for a couple of hours, including the setup, restoring all my apps and content over wifi, and a bit of surfing, email, and YouTube with Bluetooth headphones, and it’s currently at 60%. In my experience it usually takes a full rundown or two before a device settles in, so to speak, and shows its true battery performance. If it’s doing this well right after setup I’m sure that it will easily exceed the promised 10 hours under normal conditions.

I went in with an old iPad to see about trading in and walked out with a 6th gen 32gb. I will trade in or sell my daughter's 5th gen so she can get herself the pencil. It was kind of an impulse by since we all have one except my wife who refuses to use Apple products.

My only (minor) complaint so far is that it seems to charge very slowly. I thought it was supposed to come with a 12W charger. Mine is only 10W, just like the one my Mini came with.

Well that’s really odd...
Can anyone else with the 6th Gen tell me what the wattage on their charger says?

My charger says 10W and it takes a while to charge it.
Btw., are you satisfied with the displays uniformity? My display has a kind of warm tint at all (compared to my iPhone 6s) and it is even warmer on the left side. Looking close to it, i also recognize some dust under the glass (3 small pieces).

I can confirm 10W on my UK charger.

My screen is uniform. I haven’t spotted any dust under the glass, but if I do, it’ll be an instant return.

Thanks for confirming the wattage for me. On the bright side, they say that slower charging puts less stress on the battery...

The display seems fine to me.

My experience:

  • 5th gen (one launch day unit and one refurb): 10W
  • 6th gen (received today): 10W

I don't think Apple has been shipping 12W adapters for a long time.

Weirdly, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I ordered two brand new 5th gens last October. I use one adapter everyday for both iPads and keep the other adapter unopened in original cellophane in the original box. Both say 12W.

Just double checked to make sure I’m not hallucinating.

My guess would be, at some point, Apple lowered their adapter bundling requirement from 12W to 10W when they were seeking additional suppliers. Flextronics was one of the original adapter suppliers and continued to supply the 12W design, perhaps because it was not worth redesigning for 10W.

From what I can find, the following seems to hold true:
  • 10W: Foxlink
  • 12W: Flextronics

I ordered last Tuesday and received on Friday (wife's birthday) -- she loves it!!! Better than her iPhone 5 for her Facebooking....

Thanks for this update. If Apple doesn't produce a Mini comparable to this, I'll just one of these.

I must once again state that charging is slooooow though!
Seems to be only like 20% per hour at best.
