@masotime Great work!

Yes, I started to doubt my 18w conclusions yesterday after reading on another site the difference in power draw on various states of battery level.

I will re-test with the Apple 61w USB-C charger to see if I can get 29w out of the 10.5. Just as soon as I can drain my battery enough ha!

Did you test it at 61W? And with 29W how much time for a conplete charge? I’m curious.

Ok, I have tested it! Drained all three devices to 0% and charged them and an Apple Pencil all at once. All charging cables used are official, the XZs is using a Super Charge cable from Sony while the iPad is using Apple's USB C to Lightning cable.

Time in minutes, the rest in %

Quite close to Apple's charger, money well spent here!
[doublepost=1512553956][/doublepost]Quoting myself for reference

Am now testing Apple's charger with USB 3 Camera Connection Kit. An Anker Ethernet adapter is also connected to the CCK. I discharged the iPad entirely with GFX Bench before letting it charge while letting its screen be on.

Here's my preliminary data:
0% @ 0 minutes
30% @ 30 minutes
45% @ 60 minutes
83% @ 120 minutes

Now testing Apple's charger with Lightning AV Adapter. I discharged the iPad entirely with GFX Bench before letting it charge while letting its screen be on.

Here's my preliminary data:
0% @ 0 minutes
10% @ 30 minutes
20% @ 60 minutes
28% @ 90 minutes
38% @ 120 minutes

I stopped the experiment at this point of time seeing that it is clear that the quick charge will not work over the Lightning AV adapter. I swapped back to the USB 3 CCK and here are the results:
38% @ 0 minutes
55% @ 60 minutes
73% @ 90 minutes
91% @ 120 minutes
100% @ 150 minutes

Just found out that if you intend to use your iPad while charging using these 3rd party adapters, the touchscreen may appear unresponsive. Unfortunately, the only workaround is to either not do it or to charge with a powerbank instead

Does anyone have this latest version from Anker? Seems to be slightly smaller than the one mentioned in this thread, 1 x USB C PD + 4 USB A. Does this fast charge an iPhone X, iPhone 8, and the iPad Pro 10.5” if I use the Apple USB C to Lightning Cable?

Anker responded to one of the reviews that had this question. Their reply:

"Regarding this charger, it meets the USB-C PD specification for both performance and safety, ..."

Same reviewer indicated that he was seeing fast charge times.

Unbelievable.

This is really surprising and I haven't seen any comments on this on product reviews - has anyone else been able to confirm that this is a general problem?

Unbelievable.

Try playing a game that requires constant tapping while charged and you will soon see why

From what I can see, it is a general issue (as in all chargers and all devices); even Android devices are affected too. The problem lies with how capacitive touchscreen devices like iOS and Android devices are more sensitive to electrical noise coming from such wall chargers (I believe Apple's do have such issues too but for the context of this thread, I mentioned only third part adapters like my current ZeroLemon). Powerbanks do not generate such noise and thus do not cause this issue.

Sidenote: This is also why some audiophiles go for battery operated devices even in home usage. But we are talking about extreme cases though (and current devices have more than sufficient noise filtering)

But only when charging at a high wattage? I'm currently using the Anker charger:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y427WT7/

with the Apple cable but on an Air 2 (my 10.5 comes at Christmas!) and don't see any issues at all - I use it while charging (including games) all the time.

Yeah... I have the Apple and then ended up with the Anker because it came with the power bank I got. I don’t notice any difference.

Hmm. I am also using USB PD like what this Anker charger would do, I wonder if this means the quality of the charging for ZeroLemon is lower in terms of noise, or that I gotten a lemon set (literally and metaphorically)

I will put in a quick inquiry via Amazon but meanwhile, is there a way to detect electrical noise from USB C ports?

Yeah, if this was a common issue I would have expected to see it pop up in user reviews on Amazon. The charger is possibly faulty but it could also be the the cable. I don't know how to measure the possible interference.

Such usage are rare though (edge case is the fancy term of this) Also, I am using Apple's cable

And USB power meters I see so far do not measure for interference either

I’ve seen this with 3rd party chargers using apples usb c charge cables on my MacBook and also my iOS devices. Even the Apple charger does it sometimes too. The problem goes away with the Apple charger if I use the “no longer included” 3 prong extension that has the grounding pin for the socket.

My money is more on the cable vs. charger.

I have Touch ID not work when using the Anker 2-port 24W charger on an Amazon Basics cable (MFi certified) away from home. At home, newer version of same charger with some off-brand 6ft cable (beefier cable, also MFi) I got at Home Depot does not have this issue.

Then again, could be the charger: not that big a deal for me to spend too much time debugging.

Good idea, let me see if I can get the duckhead cable to work with it

I have only the Apple's USB C to Lightning cable though if I really want to do USB PD. I can try this I suppose but this means normal cables and thus no USB PD

I have tried using the 3 prong cable for the socket. Unfortunately the problem still exists.

Meanwhile ZeroLemon support is looking into this for me. They have also allowed me to return the product should I decide so

Also, normal USB A to Lightning cables did not work; it made things worse actually

Good news is that the Aukey PB-Y7 is finally here! Time to test it out

Just read the entire thread and can't tell specifically which multi-port charger is the "best" for supporting fast charging my iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen)?

Is it either of these or something else?
