Has anyone used this kit? Its cheaper than the OSXWIFI and offers bluetooth 4.2

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-...275416?hash=item3d33ee87d8:g:2YUAAOSwI59aOnm9

i have using this kit for over 6 months now, work just very fine , even with Catalina beta too , very happy about it . :D

Using this solution on a 4,1, does the wifi card actually sit flush against the adapter? I tried installing a 802.11ac/BT4.2 card into my current adapter, but it bumps against the soldered-on D+/D- plug and sticks out at an angle. It's not clear from the pictures what the whole assembly looks like.

the 802.11ac/BT4.2 card card at my kit sit just tight and no problem with D+/D- plug , it just working fine

I just installed the kit, and all went well, turned on my computer and reset the PRAM, but all I get is a black screen? Has anyone had this happen? Anything I can try? Thanks!

Update: I think I found the problem...I installed my HDD data disk into bay 1 before turning it on for the first time after installation of the Wifi/Bluetooth card (my boot drive is my new NVMe blade in a kryoM.2 adapter in PCIe slot 1). The data disk was previously in an enclosure. Once I put the HDD back into the enclosure, it booted fine. So know I'm wondering if anyone knows why that may have been the issue? Is there some sort of boot conflict between a NVMe blade in a PCIe slot and a HDD in a drive bay?

Also, just wondering, now that it's working, do I need to download any further software/firmware updates for it, or run any terminal commands or anything like that to make sure everything is all good?
Thanks!

Mine works well with the watch but not always other devices. I have SIP turned on after applying these two terminal commands:

sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set:Mac-F221BEC8:ContinuitySupport true" "/System/Library/Frameworks/IOBluetooth.framework/Versions/A/Resources/SystemParameters.plist"

sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set:Mac-4BC72D62AD45599E:ContinuitySupport true" "/System/Library/Frameworks/IOBluetooth.framework/Versions/A/Resources/SystemParameters.plist"

I have no other changes. I do not use CAT (Continuity Enabling Tool.)

guys. Handoff does not work. Macro 5.1, Mojave,
BCM94360CD card. SIP turned off, entered commands in the terminal (in recovery mode turned off SIP, entered commands already loading Makos)I took commands for the terminal here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...0-keep-updating.1748061/page-44#post-26738684
Airdrop and calls work, handoff does not work. what to do?

and what is "CAT"?
gentlemen
after starting the Continuity Enabling Tool (performed step 1 - activate Continuity)
it worked
hallelujah

On a MP 5,1 with original BT and WiFi, can I use the same full size pci WiFi/BT card that I was running on my Hackintosh? I had full continuity and hand off support out of the box with Mojave on my Vanilla install on my Hackintosh.

it has a connector for bluetooth data cable, which is also included. No soldering!

I meant the other end of where the D-/D+ wires go - where it plugs (JST GH 1.25mm 4-pin) into the same USB port that the factory BT card plugs into the backplane.

But you are right about the mini PCIe adapter end - that’s actually a JST SH 1.00mm 2-pin connector.

has anyone tried this adapter to avoid soldering?

I got that from another seller on eBay. Made the appropriate wire to power the BT but could never get BT to even be recognised as a device, let alone working.

I'm going to try another card. I don't mind soldering.

Hey does anybody know how to accurately check the version of the tool currently available from the "latest beta" link? I had some problems with the tool on Sierra and had to reinstall my system. Now I'm wondering if I had an older version. Mine just says "2" under get info. Apparently v2.6b6 is the latest? Can't tell if that's what I've got.

Hi Folks!
I've found this one, that's a waaaaay cheaper than the one you are suggesting:
it is only BT4.0 but... who cares? I'd like to add the continuity/handoff support to my cMP4.1 and this it seems just fine to me. Thoughts?

This one don’t have the USB data connector needed for BT working, MP5,1 don’t have USB signals at the AirPort mini-PCIe connector.

I don't understand what you're saying, maybe I need to do other researches...
BCM94360CD needs PCIe signals for the Wi-Fi part and USB2.0 for the BT4.0 one. MP5,1 don’t have USB2.0 in the AirPortExtreme connector, that’s why you need an adaptor with the USB connector and the cable to connect to the original BT connector.
The combo that you found will work only for Wi-Fi.

I purchased this kit for my 2012 MacPro. It was completely plug and play in my case. No soldering at all.
