Good catch I noticed that before from other posts, it was an Ebay seller am sure I got the link here, listed as "For Apple Broadcom BCM94360CD Wifi Card 802.11Ac 2.4/5GHz 1.7Gbps Bluetooth A9C5"
Currently sold out on his shop but seller is sunny-planet168

I do remember checking the numbers on the card
AP ID: 8C2DAA2D1D9B
BD ID: 8C2DAA2D1D9C
I just check the fcc ID QDS-BRCM1064
That lists as a non ac card - Broadcom BRCM1064 802.11a/b/g/n
OK time to look for another card I think..thanks for the help IndioX
I hope this helps others.

No, that card is the BCM94331CD, its printed right there on it. You're one step above the stock Airport card and still a step below what you need.

Man I dont know how you guys get those antennas to stick heh. I finally picked up a 94360CD last week to replace the 602CD I broke last year and I almost killed it again heh. Could not get that top antenna to stay on no matter what. Every time I flipped the card over to put it in the slot, it always pops off as soon as the card is flat and Im ready to screw it down! Working great so far though with only two antennas plus the bluetooth. Something funky was going on with my original one too after all these years. Now that Im stuck working from home, I was getting disconnected left and right throughout the day. Been working non stop with the new one in. Seemed like the Bluetooth just does not like to play well with all the other Wifi and USB3 stuff I have going on. My poor Logitech (which already has issues with OS X bluetooth) was acting epileptic so I had to go back to the USB dongle.

Hello,
since today I got the BT extension cable and after I connected it to the BT cable of the motherboard to bring it to the wifi card ... I realized that the connectors were female - male and not male - male, and in removing it I torn the connector of the BT cable of the motherboard !!!

Question: Is the original cable from the motherboard attached with a connector or soldered?
And if I ordered it already long that it arrives directly to the wifi card, do I clearly have to disassemble the motherboard?

thanks a lot

p.s struggling to disconnect two UF.l connectors

I got the Broadcom BCM94360CD with V3 pcie adapter card via eBay.

Can I ask you the precise connections you made for D+ and D-. I'm having issues, the wifi work perfectly but the Bluetooth is not recognized. I tried two cards and now i'm waiting for a second adapter hoping the first is faulty.

Tampano, did you solve your issue? I have exactly the same problem on a 5,1 with the BCM94360CD card: no bluetooth neither on MacOS or Windows.

and did you wire it up like this?: #1,404
Yes I did wire it like this, also tested for cable continuity from backplane to the card, and also tried with another wifi card from Macbook pro 2015: no Bluetooth..
Besides the adapter what else could it be?
I’ve had another macpro 4,1 in the past with same adapter model and same wifi card and I had bluetooth back then. The only difference is that I am running my Macpro on Opencore now, is there known Bluetooth problems with opencore perhaps?

Hi All,
Working my way through upgrades on my 2012 Mac Pro. What I'm really missing now is fast Wifi as a wired connection is not possible. Don't really care about Bluetooth or handoff etc. My keyboard/mouse works fine.

I've read a LOT of the thread but I'd rather not have to solder anything as I don't have the tools or experience to do so. So I am wondering is there a straightforward simple way to get fast Wifi? Would something like this work?

I have 2 PCIe slots free with NVMe (slot 4) and RX580 (slot 1) taking up 2.

Thanks for your help!

Has anyone got AirDrop between a MacPro 5,1 and an iPhone to work with only a USB BT dongle (Asus BT400)? Or is a non-stock (new) WiFi card required for AirDrop (to an iPhone or iPad)?

Basically, I'm confused by which features (AirDrop, Continuity, Handoff) require updated WiFi vs Updated BT 4.0+. I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a quick explanation.

Hi, I have this card installed in my McPro 5,1 Mojave.

Bluetooth suddenly became unavailable. I check wiring, everything is ok. WFI functions but BT doesn't. It was functioning flawlessly until 1 week ago. Any tip on how to fix this BT issue?

Hi there, hoping someone can clarify this for me.
I'm looking to enable to Apple watch unlock on my Mac Pro 5.1 with Mojave.
I bought and installed this card from OSXWifi "Apple Broadcom Bcm94360cd - 802.11 A/B/G/N/Ac + Bluetooth 4.0 With Adapter For MacPro 2009 and MacPro 2010" back in 2014 when I first upgraded my MP.

Now that I have an Apple watch I'd like to get the unlock function and handoff working.

I found this set of instructions in this thread:

sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set:Mac-F221BEC8:ContinuitySupport true" "/System/Library/Frameworks/IOBluetooth.framework/Versions/A/Resources/SystemParameters.plist"

sudo -E perl -pi -e "s/\Mac-00BE6ED71E35EB86/\Mac-F221BEC8\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0/" /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortBrcm4360.kext/Contents/MacOS/AirPortBrcm4360

Are these the correct instructions for Terminal for my card?

One way works, the other way will not,
Just make sure the other side is connected to the top two data pins!
My first install was correct, but I broke the cable doing other work, and forgot how it ran, pick one, if it does not work, swap it.
I looked at all the recommended ways I could find , including the above, it was backwards on my card adapter.

Test the cable itself, usually the cable gets tugged on and fails, more so then the card itself.
I was rather appalled at the bad solider work inside the cable, oddly the solder work on the smaller antenna connections were fine. One side only had one single wire strand for a connection. A bad wire stripping job.
I redid the whole cable properly...

Having a solider station and dmm, make this easy.
If you don’t have tools like that, a known good working cable is another way to test.
Worth a try, if it fails with a known good cable, it’s the card.

I am using both ethernet and wireless networks. On my supported Macs, using both wired and wireless networks, I can use Airdrop and unlock with my watch.

However, for my 5.1 Mac Pro w/BT 4.2, I can only use Airdrop if ethernet is unplugged and my watch unlock is spotty at best. Continuity and handoff are working on the Mac Pro, just not when the other network via ethernet is plugged in.

I did use the posted Terminal commands to get things working.

Is there a way to at least get my watch unlock going on a regular basis?

This is the WiFi/BT card I am using:

I use the same card.
Move the Bluetooth antenna wire to another spot....
I just kept changing mine around.

Are all your Wifi devices on the same band/network for your wifi network - eg all on 5ghz, or all on 2.4hgz?

Thanks...yes, everything is on the same 5ghz mesh WiFi network.

My Bluetooth signal to my mouse is pretty weak and I was going to try an external antenna. I noticed on my supported Mac where everything works, the signal is much stronger.

I used to use a 3.0 Bluetooth dongle due to the jerky mouse and had hoped the 4.2 would be a bit stronger. I noticed I was starting to get some of the jerky mouse action again, despite moving the antenna around in the case.

I do have my MacPro on the floor, up against a desk so there is an obstruction for the signal.

I did add an external antenna and it did help with the strength and it can find the watch via Bluetooth but unlock with the watch was still not working.

I did shut down my MacBook Pro and was wondering that since the watch was also set to unlock it, if there was a conflict.

Finally, I did log out of iCloud on the Mac Pro and the watch did show up. I noticed that in the System Report, most of my Bluetooth items, such as my two watches and HomePods, did not show up on the Mac Pro but did on an iMac and MacBook. After logging back into iCloud, they showed up in the System Report. Thankfully, I did not have to unpair the watches or log out of devices I would have had to input CC information, etc.

Airdrop with the Mac Pro seems to be working okay. I notice Find My Mac is working too.

Hi everyone. First post and would love some help.
The compatibility chart for the Continuity Activation Chart indicates that for a mac pro you only need a bluetooth dongle to get continuity to work but that has not been my experience. I have a 5,1 with the original BCM94322MC airport card and disconnected the internal bluetooth card so it only uses the Asus BT400 dongle. When I run CAT, it gets stuck in a boot loop. I've traced the kernel panic back to the edit it does to the BRCM4360.kext, adding my airport's pci id to the info.plist.
Has anyone here been able to enable continuity on a 5,1 with the original wifi?

Odd so many having issues, I used the stock antennas, no external stuff, but did change the order I plugged the Bluetooth antenna till it was solid.
That trick cost nothing and worked perfectly, it’s recommended on one of the threads about this issue.
I have had no issues with Apple Watch unlock, airdrop, or anything. In Mojave or high Serra, All is good.
I do not use ethernet however...
