Sorry for the confusion. I mean the instructions found on this threat. Where it says to download the package (I did 0.9.4) launch clover configuration, mount EFI, copy the files, "boot" and "oc", then press on the app "bless". That's how I got big sur. I still see updates (I don't want ventura) but Monterey doesn't work. I'll try your link tonight. Thank you
OK.
Because Ventura is the "latest" officially released macOS, then the currently running Big Sur will only offer the latest macOS and NOT any previous releases (i.e. Monterey). That is how it has always been with macOS.
That is why you have to manually download the full Monterey Installer (as documented in that link) and run that installer.

Enable VMM, and disable SMBIOS spoofing, then after reboot, you should able to see the 12.6.9 update.

That Ventura update option is always there, you better ignore it.
Thank you so much for this. IT WORKED!! for the update. I used ATOM EDITOR to "Enable VMM, and disable SMBIOS spoofing." Now the issue is wifi/bluetooth. Just lost my mouse. I hooked up a usb mouse i had so i can work. Do i need download and use the "post install patch with the OCLP?" I removed that Open Core app because thats what bricked my computer to begin with. If not, what else can i do?

No, do NOT use the OCLP patcher with my OC package. They are not compatible.

Anyway, after Monterey update, you can disable VMM and re-enable SMBIOS spoofing to re-gain some functions.

If it's your first time install Monterey onto your cMP, and the BT doesn't work, you may try to turn on the BlueToolFixUp kext, and Bluetooth-Spoof kext.

Some others also suggested that they need to add -btlfxallowanyaddr into the boot argument in order to use the legacy BT module after 12.6.3.

I Did "disable VMM and re-enabled SMBIOS spoofing" after re booting.

Any direction you can point me to how to "turn on the BlueToolFixUp kext, and Bluetooth-Spoof kext?" or "inject BlueToolFixup.kext." Im searching with different instructions. My chipset is BCM_4350c2. I see it inside the "OC" folder of the open core package. Just not sure how to apply it.

I think he meant the kexts are there, so mount the oc w/clover, hackintool or can do with terminal as well to name a few and search the config for those and enable them. Just as you did to turn on and off VMM and SMBIOS spoofing

Bluetooth info seems to always say that BCM_4350c2 when its not enabled. I doubt its what you actually have.

Getting my ROM on mine worked on so I dont know about the update. Just got in 4 16gb modules for my 2009 single processor 3.2ghz 6 core. The fourth module stops machine from booting but the previous 8 gig ram works so only able to install 56gb. Must be the processors limit. Forget which CPU I installed many years back.

What do you think, better with just 48gb running at 1066mHz or 56gb running at 800mHz? The 8gb in 4th slot creates the lower mHz

Im on a skylake hack in the meantime. Installed 13 and its pretty funky... maybe 14 will be even more ios-like! The hack is posing as a 2017 imac not bad at all. The rx470 got H264 but not the HEVC. It gets some gpu power from the CPU too

I can see and find it launching the config.plist using Clover Configuration, but i see the word "enabled" by/under the BlueToolFixUp, and Bluetooth-Spoof. So Am i missing something?

The word below that "Enabled" is "False"
Just tried it and still didn't work. I even followed "Martin Lo" Instructions here:
.

Again mine is 4.1 flashed into 5,1 so im not sure if that has something to do with it, since its a very old card. I've seen some 4,1 that did work with the open core legacy patcher, just not this route i took "Martin Lo."

All it let me do was toggle the BT on..but not turning blue. Still grey and not doing anything. Im still learning all about this mac hacking, haha. Pretty fun!

You got me there. I installed a newer dual card (BT/WIFI) that is natively supported so I dont have experience with the original one that it came with. Unsure any of those hacks are for those. I figured worth a try though.. Sometimes I remember having to rebuild the kextcache or something like that resetting the nvram for it to take hold when enabling some kexts

Picked up an adapter that you could put a newer mac card in and the bluetooth I had to run a wire somewhere to get some power and hook to the usb... its been awhile so I forget exactly but was kind of a PITA with the tight space and tiny connections

I was just looking into one. You mind sharing which you purchased, if you still have link? Thank You.

Something like that .... they got all made up ones too but takes up a pcie slot.....I best not post too much along these lines since this is a little off topic

Instead of struggling with editing raw plist files, use a proper Plist editor.
I personally use Plist Edit Pro.
SO much easier and error free edits.
E.g.:

Screenshot 2023-09-23 at 14.29.39.png

To change the Value of Enabled, you simply click on the current value ("NO") and it prompts you to toggle it to "YES" and will insert "true" into the correct place in the raw Plist.
Simple.
No more formatting errors or guessing the syntax of Plist content.

Just my 2 cents

Whats kind of funny is that you were replying to "Martin Lo" and referring to him as he was a different person!
haha sorry, not paying attention i guess..Love his work! my 2009 mac pro has new life!! ill figure that out later, i have a usb bluetooth mouse for now. BUt love having Monterey on my 2009 mac pro.

Looks good... I was looking for VMM and smbios spoofing but realized its in the update monterey video...

an aside: Got the fresh rom not cross flashed now....

Will probably be useful to Martin:
I use two 4K Samsung TVs as monitors
and turn on the sound on them using AppleALC kext
I always use Apple Magic Mouse, but sometimes I connect an adapter for Wireless Logitec Mouse to USB.
Quite by accident I discovered today that one of the TVs disappeared as a source - it turned out that the reason was the Logitech mouse - if you turn it off, the sound appears on two TVs
Maybe there is a setting so that Logitech does not interfere?

The legacy WIFI and Bluetooth patches also do not work with my system when using Martin Lo's OC package thats why I stick with OCLP for now. OCLP provides the necessary patches for legacy Bluetooth / WiFi on my Mac Pro 5.1 running Monterey. With Martin Lo's package, WiFi isnt working but Bluetooth does. I dont want to purchase a new WiFi-Card since I use that system only for iOS Development.

I have MLOC 0.9.5 installed on SATA SSD Bay 1 with Monterey installed on PCIe SSD. Today after a reboot I am greeted with the following prompt:

You have the OCLP root patches in your OS.
So MLOC installs OCLP root patches? I erased both boot drives and did a clean install of Mojave on the SATA SSD where OC is located and a clean install of Monterey on the PCIe SSD using MLOC. It's like the ghost of OCLP past coming back to haunt me. :)
