This mod does nothing about resolution or HDPI.

I started doing the procedure:
but inside the EFI volume I don't have the EFI folder?
Could it be hidden?

Or maybe because i didn't download ROMTool?

sorry but step 11 and 12 how do I do it?
I have to create the other folders too? ACPI - Drivers - Kexts - Tools
have patience please

If you do step 10 correctly, all those folders should be in position

1) I do not recommend you do this in Catalina on a dual processor cMP

2) Please try step 7+8+13 again, I just amend step 13 a bit.

Are you using the "Universal" config.plist?

I use the "Universal" config.plist and the "Upgradable" config.plist

Hello, thanks for the posts! I followed post #594 all day yesterday (with OC 0.5.4), and retried it today with OC 0.5.5. Both versions, I got through all the steps fine. Upon reboot, I fire up VideoProc.app, and it shows "unavailable" for both H264 and HEVC.

My system is 2009 4.1>5.1 MacPro. AMD Rx580 GPU, dual 3.46 CPU. I took all the drives out except one SATA mounted SSD that was formated clean with a brand new install of 10.14 in order to experiment with HW acceleration.

I "think" the changes took effect, as in about this Mac, it shows my CPU's as 3.5 GHz instead of 3.46. I know from reading much of the OpenCore thread that is a bug.

*Edit, I used the bootpicker config file.

I read from post #1 to page 36 of the "OpenCore on Mac Pro thread", but on this thread, I only read a few pages, including the last few.

I'm a "plain" Mac user since the 90's, but never got into hacking until I just picked up a 2009 Mac Pro.

I'd love for HW acceleration to work, as my system is way slower than a 2013 iMac 21" for exporting from iMovie, which is a lot of the reason I bought this MacPro.

IDK what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same BUG with OC 0.5.4; now with OC 0.5.5 the CPU speed is correct.
But no HWAccel on my system =-(

Thanks for the reports, will check the config.plist files now. Looks like I did something wrong in those newly created files.

I used the bootpicker file. I just wiped my drive, did a NVRam reset, and installing fresh 10.14 installation. I will try again, or maybe this time I will try the full OC from the OC thread? IDK yet.

2 comments:
1) in post 594, the bootpicker file does not download (it did an hour ago).
2) Therefore this time I tried the universal file. On the blessing command, I get this error in terminal:

Can't statfs /Volumes/EFI/EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi

I tried it twice (deleting the entire EFI folder in the EFI disk partition and staring over). Both times same error.

Dual 3.46 CPU, Rx580, re-formatted SSD in SAS with clean instal of 10.14 immediately prior to trying.

SIP disabled?

Can you try direct SATA connection?
