ordered on the 8th, 5:40AM, same Seattle area. However mine is still processing And showing 15th-17th.
I’m not too worried, i think it may still come tomorrow, if not i wont be upset. It’s not an iPhone or ipad or mac, i can wait couple more days.
Does anybody know if we can hold the package for pickup from FedEx?
I have done this with UPS before, wherein I can request them to hold the package at Customer Center. IMO - this is super convenient than waiting for the delivery guy. I have had a bad experiences with UPS delivery for Apple products, and prefer picking them up instead.

I have a Silver pair arriving from Apple tomorrow.
And hopefully a Space Gray from Best Buy by tomorrow too.

I don't think I am gonna get my AirPods Max tomorrow, thoughts? No tracking number, nothing! And I am supposed to get it tomorrow!
By the way, I ordered these at 7:01 am on 12/8/20! Just 1 hour after the press release! Was I too late to secure day 1 delivery?

I placed my order almost ~4 hours after press release. Mine shipped a few hours back.
I dont want to give you false hope, but I think it should happen pretty soon. Remember - Apple is providing next day air shipping so it can technically ship out even close to midnight for delivery tomorrow (As witnessed by some UK folks who posted earlier)

Just got a shipment notification out of nowhere, delivering tomorrow. Yes! This is the silver one though, I am waiting on the space gray edition to ship from Verizon. Couldn’t choose between the two, overall I kinda like that silver one a bit more but I’m afraid that netting is gonna look gross pretty quickly.
Just got my Best Buy ship notice; guess the AC+ addition didn’t scuttle things after all!
The tracking number isn’t in UPS’s database yet, so that remains to be seen. Still possible, but I’m not holding my breath.
Update: it's now in UPS's database, but with no ETA, saying they haven't received the item yet. BB is still playing it close to the vest, saying that it will arrive before Dec 24.

I just had an apple chat rep tell me that I should cancel and redo order. (Im moving on Monday and changing address) I responded that I was given a 15-17 Dec delivery window, but was concerned that it is only still processing. Soooo frustrated, they then said that it is because they need to verify my information, but when I said I used Apple pay (Apple card) he said "rest assured we are doing everything" wtf, can I just get an honest answer.
Would you look at that! Apple already had a shipment of AirPods Max sitting at their local warehouse here in CA all along! No wonder they can just use overnight shipping to ship these out at the last minute!
By the way, these headphones are shipping to Bay Area, CA. Only a 6 hour drive and maybe a 1-2 hour plane ride away!

Honestly, mine was never added, but when I call over the phone it says delivery date December 24 as well. I ordered this the moment it was available on Best Buy. I’m hoping it’s just a placeholder because that’s really messed up, I was one of the first few orders the moment it was up.
best buy order just changed from "Ships tomorrow" to "We'll let you know when it ships"

Interesting, I just got an email from UPS My Choice that the Best Buy shipment is due to arrive Wednesday via SurePost (where they hand it off to USPS for the last mile). Logging in gives me the option to "Upgrade to UPS Ground and your package may be eligible for delivery changes and could arrive a day earlier." With them yet to report the package in hand at this hour, I'm just going to leave it alone rather than pay $7.99 just to get it on Wednesday anyway.
From my experience the extra day is handing it off to USPS and USPS taking over the package and scheduling it for delivery. If you upgrade to UPS ground, you can immediately hold it at the CC and they will be available next day, in this case tomorrow.
I have done this several times with UPS Surepost packages and have always picked them up a day early. They always get to my UPS hub and then get trucked to USPS hub that will then distribute them to my local post office. Instead of all of that, I will just go pick them up at the CC.
Another example of this is I had a package I was suppose to get tomorrow via UPS Surepost but UPS decided to upgrade my package and just deliver it themselves. Because of this I got my package today instead of tomorrow. It was nice of them to do this. It wasn’t a “important enough” package for me to upgrade to ground so for them to do it was surprising and also awesome.
Not telling you to go one way or another, just sharing my experience so you know.
