Mixed news on my end. Unfortunately my wait’s gonna be a bit longer since I had to cancel my Dec 11 order. That being said, I also placed a new one yesterday with delivery Mar 24-Apr 7. Just now I checked the status and it has been updated to Mar 10-17. Perhaps I’m lucky, or maybe Apple is finally going to focus on filling their own orders.
So your order date is ahead of mine as I’ve had my sky blue on order since the 29th of December with a March 12 delivery date and that hasn’t changed

I wonder if it's worth ordering a second pair from Apple in that case. Knowing my luck they'd bill for both at the same time and ship them together

Just tried that and it says 8 to 10 weeks lol
Go figure, eh? I am just as shocked. Honestly I was okay with the new wait.

Again... maybe it's dumb luck or divine intervention.

EDIT: Just checked Apple's Canadian site again. Green's been lowered to 4-5 weeks. Blue is 6-7 (matching my estimate). It would appear that something is truly happening.

So I was able to grab a pair of sky blue off Amazon warehouse listed as "used - like new" for $425 bucks at a random hour of the night, 2am pst last Wednesday. They just arrived today, factory sealed. They look brand new. I'm a bit shocked, hopefully others can take advantage of this if it pops up randomly again. Anyway i grabbed them with a wired cord and am enjoying them quite a bit. The blue looks beautiful.
Wow, $425! That's ridiculously good. I purchased Used - Like New SG from Amazon today for $504. I bet we won't see any price low like $425 again, at least for Used - Like New condition.

Yea, I really have no idea why they were listed at that price. I think it's possible it was a mistake. Just extreme luck. I have seen a few times them being sold at 450 on Amazon as well, think it was for a space grey and silver. I'll take some photos when the stand comes in for them.

What's the general consensus on having to leave in the case to maintain battery or not? Are most people leaving them in their cases or leaving them out (say on a stand?)

Yeah I think they might start to catch up now. Silver and space grey is readily available and has been for several weeks in the U.K. so maybe they will focus on the other colours

Greetings,
So I actually listened to music for 3+ hours last night using my AirPods Max - they are comfortable and sounded great. I went back and forth playing with the headphone accommodation. I think for most music I like it without the accommodation. I was a little worried it wouldn't be loud enough (yes I've been using headphones since I was a kid and like to listen loud much to my parent's chagrin) - but the volume was great. I'm impressed that out of the box they sounded just as good as my B&W P7s. So far the battery has been great - after that listening session the battery was only down to 93%. I haven't had the battery drain issue that is caused by them not turning off. I've attached the pic of where I store them. I do have a headphone stand and I put them back in the case and store on the stand. So far they have been turning off on their own despite many Apple devices being within a few feet. Hopefully Apple will release a firmware update soon to fix that issue. I'm happy with my purchase. I plan to test out spatial audio tonight.

I called my sister and she said I sounded fine - I normally use my AirPods pros when on the phone (I have a Pro Max so I don't like to keep that up to my ear). I don't use headphones for work - I'm on conf calls ALL DAY LONG. I have a yeti mic and speaker set up instead but it's nice to know they will sound great for phone calls in case I do need to dial in vs using computer audio.

One other thing to note my B&W PWs had the turn off when the cans are removed - they didn't get that right and it ended up being a pain in the a$$. I turned that feature off - I have to say they actually got it right for the APM. (I realize they hired the R&D person from B&W to work on the APM so I guess he had time to get that feature right).....

I hope all of you with orders in progress get a ship date sooner than later. :)
Cheers,
B

Hi All

Sorry for the off-topic post, however, this thread seems to be the most active for AirPods Max.

Well, it seems it's possible to remove the headband on the AirPods Max, using the sim tool.

6.58m to 7.37m in the video above.

Can see even more customisation opportunities.

I was inspired to shake up my usual choice of black/graphite accessories, and after carefully watching Best Buy over the last several days, I jumped on the icon that had "Open Box - Excellent" for $500. They should be to me here in Houston on Friday; hoping the blue isn't too much of a shock to my normally bland color palate lol

Got my Silver AirPods Max from Amazon. (Ordered them on Saturday and they arrived today, Tuesday). They were $447 (Used-Very good; "minor cosmetic imperfection"). The Apple box had been resealed but the headphones and case had their wrapping and the headphones themselves are absolutely pristine.

When I bought them from Amazon I also purchased AppleCare. But Amazon emailed me to say no AppleCare unless the device is sold by Amazon (these were Amazon Services).

Checking online, they came up as "not eligible" for AppleCare and I had to call Apple Support. But I now have AppleCare on them. (I don't need any more stress in my life).

Just the little bit I've listened, they are wonderful. You can imagine what an upgrade these are from my AirPods!

Hooray! That blue color is gorgeous. I know you’ll love them. I’ve been listening to my silver APM which arrived today from Amazon and they are marvelous!
Thanks! I've been listening with different types of music the last hour or so. It definitely is a step up from the Airpods Pro. I also like how my ears are inside the cans completely. I need to sample a wider range of music and songs tomorrow.

I did have a problem trying to buy Applecare+ on the Apple site. It kept on saying invalid serial number. I typed it any number of ways and it locked me out for multiple attempts...sigh.... I guess I need to call them directly tomorrow to get this sorted out.

I too love how my ears are so nicely enveloped by the headphones. These things are so comfortable! The design is so well thought out.

Be sure to confirm your serial number under Settings<Bluetooth. I requested a call at the AppleCare support section and it only took 10 minutes to sort out AppleCare and get an email with a link to pay.
