The AMD liquid cool 6900XT?I was planning to purchase that. Will there be a common problem if I replace it with my current one in terms of the OS and usage of Mac?
Have you heard anything else about this anomaly?I did understand that.
The funny thing is: when I put the xfx in the pcie slot #2 and an external PSU on it, I get the POST sound and some reaction by the monitor. So I am not quite sure what‘s happening there, maybe someone has an explanation to that.
Well, I‘ll stick to the VEGA FE right now. If someday a VII flies into the house I‘ll have a go then.
Thanks for the answers and greetings
kmax
So no 6700 but 6600. Doubt Mac Pro will have Radeon GPU. M1 Pro is destroying everything, on a Mac Pro Apple could put easily 2x M1 Max.Monterey 12.1 adds support for the Radeon Pro W6600 and Radeon RX 6600, 6600M, & 6600 XT. Perhaps the refreshed Intel Mac Pro will have a Radeon Pro W6600X GPU.
Did you test it & prove that it works?Monterey 12.0.1 adds support for the 73AF variants of the RX 6900 XT such as the OEM Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled and PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Ultimate.
It will be useful to specify the exact model of your card, so we can check if it's one of the PCIe IDs that Apple started to support with the AMD drivers.Have just tested W6600 on 12.1 and it does not work.
Never mind, I just got it working, for some reason had to have a 2nd GPU as well and then it fired up.Have just tested W6600 on 12.1 and it does not work.
AMD RX 6600XT will not work with your Mac Pro. Navi 2x GPUs are only supported on 2019 Mac Pro.Hi,I bought a rx6600xtGPU yesterday,5.1mac pro can not open,I see you have w6600,How can I use it? thank you🌹
AMD RX 6600XT will not work with your Mac Pro. Navi 2x GPUs are only supported on 2019 Mac Pro.
A MacPro5,1 will only work with Ellesmere/Polaris/Vega and Navi 1x GPUs. The newest GPU supported on a MacPro5,1 is RX 5700XT, the fastest is Radeon VII.
OMG?,I thought macos12.1 can do itAMD RX 6600XT will not work with your Mac Pro. Navi 2x GPUs are only supported on 2019 Mac Pro.

hey bro,How did you do it,It's difficult for me?You could probably use OpenCore to make OSX think your Mac Pro is a 2019, or an iMac Pro.... look in to it.
While macOS Monterey support your GPU, your Mac Pro hardware itself don't.OMG?,I thought macos12.1 can do it
If you can't even power on and complete POST of a MacPro5,1 with any Navi 2x GPUs installed, how your gonna use OpenCore? You could probably use OpenCore to make OSX think your Mac Pro is a 2019, or an iMac Pro.... look in to it.
install Two GPU?You could probably use OpenCore to make OSX think your Mac Pro is a 2019, or an iMac Pro.... look in to it.
This is a different situation, I am using a virtual machine, I had to add a 'vmware compatible display' to trick OSX in to booting with the W6600 using GPU pass through. I am not using a Mac Pro I am using a Threadripper PC.install Two GPU?
Now 5700xt/Vii Very expensive☹️Interesting I didn't realise the Navi 2 didn't work on older CPU.
Makes sense.. Perhaps get a 5700XT instead, someone would probably swap you, I think they're comparable right?
I wanted to get a Radeon VII for my MP 5,1 (the 128GB machine) but the only one I saw was used (but only little use) and some $3500! It's just crazy.I haven't seen a single Radeon VII for sale for weeks or maybe for months now in my country.
I would like one more, but for sure I know I don't want to pay what they are asking, if I ever found one for sale.
I'm so happy I got my three pieces when they not of a value like worth gold per weight.
It's a crazy situation right now buying a GPU, new or used one.
Maybe I should sell my unnecessary RX 580 and Vegas right now.
