I was planning to purchase that. Will there be a common problem if I replace it with my current one in terms of the OS and usage of Mac?

I did understand that.
The funny thing is: when I put the xfx in the pcie slot #2 and an external PSU on it, I get the POST sound and some reaction by the monitor. So I am not quite sure what‘s happening there, maybe someone has an explanation to that.

Well, I‘ll stick to the VEGA FE right now. If someday a VII flies into the house I‘ll have a go then.

Thanks for the answers and greetings
kmax
Have you heard anything else about this anomaly?

Monterey 12.1 adds support for the Radeon Pro W6600 and Radeon RX 6600, 6600M, & 6600 XT. Perhaps the refreshed Intel Mac Pro will have a Radeon Pro W6600X GPU.
So no 6700 but 6600. Doubt Mac Pro will have Radeon GPU. M1 Pro is destroying everything, on a Mac Pro Apple could put easily 2x M1 Max.
No sense anymore.

Have just tested W6600 on 12.1 and it does not work.
Never mind, I just got it working, for some reason had to have a 2nd GPU as well and then it fired up.

AMD RX 6600XT will not work with your Mac Pro. Navi 2x GPUs are only supported on 2019 Mac Pro.

A MacPro5,1 will only work with Ellesmere/Polaris/Vega and Navi 1x GPUs. The newest GPU supported on a MacPro5,1 is RX 5700XT, the fastest is Radeon VII.

You could probably use OpenCore to make OSX think your Mac Pro is a 2019, or an iMac Pro.... look in to it.

While macOS Monterey support your GPU, your Mac Pro hardware itself don't.

It's not yet known exactly what is missing could be AVX support or PCIe v3.0 Atomics/Read-Modify-Write Transactions. Anyway, it's a hardware requirement that is not present on MacPro5,1.

AFAIK, no one ever got a NAVI 2x GPU working on a processor older than Ivy Bridge - not even on a Hackintosh.

If you can't even power on and complete POST of a MacPro5,1 with any Navi 2x GPUs installed, how your gonna use OpenCore?

Interesting I didn't realise the Navi 2 didn't work on older CPU.
Makes sense.. Perhaps get a 5700XT instead, someone would probably swap you, I think they're comparable right?

install Two GPU?
This is a different situation, I am using a virtual machine, I had to add a 'vmware compatible display' to trick OSX in to booting with the W6600 using GPU pass through. I am not using a Mac Pro I am using a Threadripper PC.

You need a 5700XT lad :D

I haven't seen a single Radeon VII for sale for weeks or maybe for months now in my country.
I would like one more, but for sure I know I don't want to pay what they are asking, if I ever found one for sale.

I'm so happy I got my three pieces when they not of a value like worth gold per weight.

It's a crazy situation right now buying a GPU, new or used one.

Maybe I should sell my unnecessary RX 580 and Vegas right now.

The GPU situation is totally nuts. I think best options for a GPU right now is buy a Mac Pro 7,1 which uses the MPX modules crypto miners can’t use or get a new MacBook Pro with M1 Max.

I wanted to get a Radeon VII for my MP 5,1 (the 128GB machine) but the only one I saw was used (but only little use) and some $3500! It's just crazy.

I got very lucky buying two new RX580s, the favourite Sapphire Pulse 8GB and then took a chance on XFX RX580 GTS that everyone says 'no that doesn't work' and that also worked fine.

Obviously the writing is on the wall and eventually I'll have to move away from the classic Mac Pro, either to a newer 7,1 or just move completely away from Apple which would be a last resort.
