there’s only so much ‘performance’ you can put into a watch. What it’s really about, is the Health features. But, I don’t find myself taking advantage of all the health features, but what I’m really looking for is for the watch to be it’s own product without relying on the iPhone. That will be a ‘game-changer’, and then with micro LED is here.

That's a good point. I guess by performance difference, I more meant if iterations of watchOS slowed the watch down so much that it became a frustrating experience and/or the new one was that much better with the newer OS (but let's not give Apple more ideas! lol, not that they haven't already thought of this one). I'm more than happy with the performance of the S4. I agree about health features. There's also only so much they can add that I will take advantage enough to justify an upgrade.

Agreed. My s2 was fantastic with the software it shipped with. Successive updates have just made it completely frustrating and laggy to use at times. It seems to just be one of those curves that comes with early versions of hardware.

Depending on features, if it has something significant over the S5 I’m all in, but if not I’m hoping to find a killer deal on a S5 SS and wait for the S7.

S3 owner, definitely want to upgrade. Just wish their was more leaks about the new features. Seems like no one really cares about the apple watch this year 😂

As a very satisfied stainless steel LTE series 5 owner, I very much doubt I'll be upgrading to a series 6.

Not really interested in sleep tracking, so any improvements there (like better gyroscope sensitivity) won't do much for me. Blood O2 sensor isn't enough to get me to upgrade. If it somehow did blood pressure, I might reconsider.

My original apple watch is not working need a new watch (screen popped)

Waiting to see what Apple Watch 6 has to offer

Any of you guys interested?
Hello I am yes! I currently do not own an Apple watch but am thinking of taking the plunge and buying one. I am buying one to mainly be able to leave my iphone at home when I go on my 5-7k runs (outdoors) and to be able to listen to my music wirelessly through the watch :) I have looked at Garmin options which seem very good, but given I already own an iphone, airpods 2, ipad, mac pro etc I find myself returning to the Apple watch. I just hope the series 6 has better battery life than the 5..

Yep. My S4 is great but husband's S0 (ex mine) needs replacing, and if a new watch comes into this house it'll be on my wrist not his :D so I'll upgrade to the S6 and he will gratefully receive mine!

Will definitely get cellular again though, couldn't live without it now.

Looks like you have a very good arrangement worked out for yourself. If i was hubby, I would negotiate a new deal where I could also get a new watch, instead of hand me downs. :p

Hard to answer with out knowing what he series 6 upgrades are. If it’s the same form factor, absolutely not upgrading yet. I have a series 5 and am generally happy. It’s my first smart watch, and honestly i will say I have been surprised how ‘slow‘ it is. I hoped it would be snappier. I am shocked there isn’t a browser. but over all i love my Apple Watch series 5.

the 6 will be much speedier thanks to enhanced Wifi/cell parts, and a newer processor. The S5 is the same processor as the S4 so it’s already showing its age.

Personally I’m upgrading to the SS S6. I need the more scratch resistant screen, and the stainless steel looking nicer is a plus.

Agreed and I wouldn't mind snappier performance, as my series 5 was my first watch and speed was the only thing about it that disappointed me. But I only got the series 5 9 months ago, and with the pandemic I've barely gone anywhere in 6 months. For me it'd be silly to upgrade when I feel like the 5 is basically still brand new.

WatchOS 7 will speed up your series 5.

I’ll definitely be upgrading to the AW6.. having had nearly all AW from the original up to AW4, didn’t upgrade to the 5 since at the time performance wise it wasn’t a big update. The biggest jump I noticed in capability was between AW 3 and 4. Certainly the 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 had some impact, but 3 to 4 IMHO was the biggest in responsiveness and real usability. For anyone on anything up to AW 3 and have the funds and like using the watch, I’d definitely move to a 5 or 6 in this next cycle. AW 5 are already seeing prices down ~$300 for sport, could go a bit lower overall. I imagine overall pricing will remain static with last year, but we’ll probably see two lower priced models based on AW 2 and maybe the AW 5 processor. We’ll probably see a last years model deal and an “SE” model POSSIBLY down at the $199 range. Maybe even lower. That’s my guess.

For AW 6 I’m hoping for faster, bigger and better battery (even 5-7% would be nice), SpO2 sensor (we know it’s there already, but an upgraded HR/SpO2 sensor would make it official). TEMP would be nice or galvanic skin response too. I think there is probably “one more thing” that we’re not yet seeing in the leaks. A TAD more edge to edge screen would be nice, and I’m a buyer!. But who am I kidding, I’m a buyer regardless!. At this point I should probably just sell the Rolex’s and Breitlings and Omega and others, in all honestly I haven’t worn anything but the Apple Watch in the past 4-5 years more than about 10 times. It’s pretty crazy.

Initially I said emphatically NO. However, lately I've been getting all hot and bothered about a white ceramic  Watch. I'm sure if Apple releases a Series 6 in white ceramic I'll have it.

I have a series 4 and I was definitely tempted by that ceramic series 5. Not sure how I will fare with series 6 if there’s another ceramic edition :p

I’ve already said this in another thread, there’s never leaks with the Apple Watch. We’ve seen some CAD renders, some HomePod leaks that expose the ‘red digital crown’ in the past, and some casings, but Apple Watch has such tight supply control, it’s Seldom the Apple Watch has any leaks. On Top of that, what else really is there ‘leak‘? It’s the same physical design year after year.

I do think there is going to be a lot of disappointment in here for the series 6. Rumours strongly point to this being released as part of a press release and not mentioned in the event.

Apple havent done this with a watch before and normally its done when the update is very minor. Don’t expect blood oxygen etc apple would want an event for something big like that.

This is what i think. We know they’re removing the force touch sensor which points towards a bigger battery like what they did on the phone. This would also support the sleep tracking better. I think were just getting better battery life and processor and maybe a bump in storage. That’s it.

I guess we’ll soon find out.

I think it will have a nominal battery increase and SPo2 for the series 6.

I will probably update to the Series 6. The health and fitness features are worth it for me. The always on display will be nice but it’s not exactly a killer feature (which is why I didn’t get the Series 5).

I’m not sure if they will increase the battery life, but it would be nice.
