Anyone in the UK got a C2D MBP yet?

jokers on the phone dont have a clue!

he just told me it left shanghai on the 12th nov!!!

so i said thats 2 days in the future so he said oh yeah - sorry - it was the 7th. To which i challenged that and said i know it left on the 5th (thanks to ape).

I then asked where it was - and he said it hadnt reached luxemberg yet - another fib as ape says it got there on the 7th! in fact ape says it departed the transit hub on the 9th

So any ideas where it might be? Apple guy reckons somewhere int he sky between shanghai and luxemberg. Ape reckons it left luxemberg yesterday!?

Who's right?

It was ordered on the 28th by the way - 2.33 160HD Glossy

phatspider, hard to say man. I think the apple guys dont have fully accurate information (either delayed, or else they just make it up ). One dude told me that it hadn't reached Daventry yet and would be 2 more days, but arrived the next day. There's a lot that happens behind the scenes that isn't fully reflected in the tracking info.

Between the 2, sounds like Apecode knows more - even if its sometimes slow to update, it shouldn't report something that never happened yet. If it left Europe for the UK yesterday, I'd say it will arrive @ Flextronics today/this afternoon, and get passed to UPS for delivery on Monday or Tuesday.

But mine didn't go via luxembourg, it was shipped via amsterdam, so we might be on different trade routes.

lol, wooky must be a true master of self-control. I brought mine into work yesterday to show off something, but couldn't help but play with it a little while. My boss caught me, but just smiled: its my last day today, so there's probably no point punishing me

Arrived about an hour ago.

Totally silent so far!

perfect, no dead pixels, no warping in the casing or anything!

I am in heaven

Just installing various apps

this thing is dead quiet and not running hot

No noticeable fan noise the only thing i can hear is actually the slight hiss from my 20" Phillips widescreen monitor.

I am in love

Enjoy it to the max Wookyhoo, the wait has been long and arduous, but the reward has been worth it.

For those still waiting, be strong brothers the promised land WILL arrive!

Have you had any problems with yours Aaron?

No meaningful problems with mine so far, saxon - touch wood it stays that way. The only issues are that when the lid is closed, the left side doesn't sit flush and arcs up by about 1mm (not really a problem, if it doesn't get worse), and fan noise. But again, fan noise isn't significant: I didnt notice they were on, until they turned off. It probably just seems noisier to me, because until now I've been using a Tablet PC, which is designed to be quiet and (sometimes) cool.

Apart from those little things, it seems fine: no dead pixels, no wierd noises. The CD/DVD reader is a bit sensitive though, but I've heard they all are.

How is yours?

Mine is still sitting under my desk right now, still in the box too.. another hour to go!!! Tonight is my night, I will close my room and hang a 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign so that my kids won't be able to disturb me..

I have to say... what a machine

I've been using it all day and am in love lol

So fast, so cool, so quiet. My screen is great, the case is good, I'm very happy.

I'm trying to work out how to install Quake and Quake 3 at the moment. I think they'll both run pretty well

Very happy with it. The left of the screen is raised one or two mm when shut, but it's not noticeable.

I've been reading some not-so-nice reviews on Fujitsu build quality on other threads in this forum.. It just sounds safer to get the Hitachi drive, which you've received...

I was also trying to figure out if the distribution of the 120GB drives might be regional e.g. Europe (mainly Hitachi ..

Dunno -people aint posting what they've received so too early to tell - i'd rather have a Hitachi drive...

Congrats - can you post a picture of the underneath please - just the only picture i haven't seen...
