Have a Galaxy S8+ which Ive had for around 3 years. Want to upgrade and will see what apple have in store before deciding whether to go for new iPhone or another Android. Have an IPad Air 3 and a Macbook Air, so will wait to see what Apple announce before sticking with Android or not.

I'm currently on the fence. Currently on a launch 128GB XR with is still at 100% battery capacity and like new condition. It does everything I need it to. I would like to upgrade as I do like the rumors pointing to a 6.1 12 Pro. Would be nice to have the better camera and an OLED screen.

What's making me think it over is that I have a 2014 13" Macbook Pro (base model) that could do with being replaced as I'm running out of storage on it. Seeing as AS Macbooks appear to be around the corner it would probably would make more sense to upgrade to one of those instead of replacing a perfectly good phone.

Currently have a launch day 11 pro (battery is at 98%) and a 2020 se. I also ordered a midnight green 11 pro max Monday that will hopefully get here this week. Then I’ll probably order the 12 pro max depending on how much I like the 11pm.

I'm currently on a red 64gb XR and the battery is about 80% what it used to be. I don't really need to upgrade but I'm so ready for a white or midnight blue phone with at least 128gb, if not 256gb. 64gb just aint cutting it for me anymore...

What device do you have, and why are you not planning on upgrading?

I am thinking of buying an SE 2020 and just sticking with that for at least a year or so.. cheap, affordable and does the job.
Name 1 thing a new iPhone 12 can do Vs. an iPhone Xs MAX or an iPhone 8 Plus.

I have the 2016 7 Plus with A10 and 3 GB RAM, and iOS 14 runs VERY well on it. In iOS 13 I have only rarely noticed lag, which I suspect is memory related, but I emphasize "rarely". I haven't really noticed any lag in iOS 14 yet, but that's because I've only had iOS 14 on it for half a day. Otherwise overall, iOS 14 feels like iOS 13.7 did in terms of performance.

So, despite this phone being 4 years old now, I don't really have a good reason to upgrade, at least in terms of SoC performance. It would be more than fine performance-wise for at least another year and probably significantly longer. Battery is still OK too, at 88%. (The battery was replaced in 2018 under Apple's battery replacement program that year.)

That said, I will likely upgrade anyway, since I have a lot of gift card cash burning a hole in my Apple Wallet, and because I want a new camera. Plus, my daughter wants my 7 Plus to use as a glorified iPod touch.

My wife has the 2018 XR (A12 and 3 GB RAM) and she won't be upgrading either for 2 years or possibly more. She has never once complained about its performance.

Yeah, I don't have performance complaints either on my 7. I upgraded to the SE2 for "future-proofing" and due to bad battery on the 7. In case iPhone 12 OLED gives me migraines, who knows how long I'll need to keep the SE.

I have an iPhone 11 and don’t see the need to upgrade. We officially don’t know what the iPhone 12 will be or if there will even be one this year.

Yes PWM is a very important point that people don't seem to mention much.

So many people seem to obsessed with the fact that the iPhone 12 Pro may not get 120 Hz, but personally I don't care about that. What I care about is if their PWM frequency will cause headaches or not.

Launch day 11 pro here.

For the first time ever, I think I will be keeping this for another year. I sincerely doubt that the 12 series will have something that’s a must-have for me.
Second this plus the size increase of the smaller pro for me is a no....11 pro perfect size with all the features..5g can wait

I have a launch day 11 pro. Definitely on the fence this year. I usually upgrade every year, but after using the iOS 14 update, i Really don’t need to upgrade. I did switch from the 11 pro max to the 11 pro I’m currently using, but other than wanting a bigger screen again (I know why’d I switch to begin with!) I could honestly go another year with my phone. Same situation with the watches. My series 4 is still running flawlessly, no need to upgrade yet.

Same for me. Well, except for the every year upgrade. This is my second year on iOS and I’ve enjoyed it. Coming from all the S lineup of Samsung phones my first iPhone was the xr then a launch day 11 pro which I still have. I also have a 2020 se and an 11 pro max being delivered sometime today. I’m really glad I didn’t trade in my 11 pro for the n20 ultra since using iOS 14. It’s made the current phones so much more enjoyable to use. I don’t think I’ll buy the 12 this year either, but we’ll see. 😁

my only concern with the12 is the fact that the Max is 6.7” now. I have yet to see a comparison in size versus the 6.5”

Wow! I’m not sure if I like the look of the 12 max. The front and back definitely still look sexy, the squares sides don’t look to comfortable.

They didn’t feel uncomfortable holding it in my hands. The size didn’t feel much bigger holding it. I can still hold it the exact same way I do my XS Max. The dummy unit sealed the deal for me getting the 12 Pro Max.

That’s great. For myself, personally, I don’t think I’ll be comfortable with the squared edges once some weight is behind the 12 with a fully functioning phone and not a feather weight dummy model. But, who knows. I may order one anyway to add to my collection.

😎 Thank you! if I do decide to upgrade, 12 max it is. I thought i wanted a smaller phone, so I tried the regular pro model, it’s just too small. 😂
I thought the same thing when I ordered my 2020 se a little over a month ago. Switched back to my launch day 11 pro and decided I wanted to try the larger pro max. *patiently waiting on UPS to deliver it.* 😁
