Seeing as I ordered the fold 2 if i buy the iPhone 12 it will be the 5.4 or 6.1. Certainly not getting the pro model.

I’m sticking with my 11 pro max for a while. I’ve been spending way to much on phones and they all do the same thing for what I need. 😕

So how do you like the max v your 11 pro? Thinking of doing the same they are $200 off here now.

I’m enjoying it so far. The size difference is really noticeable and with iOS 14 it’s an entirely new experience. I like how easy my 11 pro was to handle and fit in my pocket. But, the bigger screen on the max outweighs it being bigger and heavier. Plus, typing on a bigger keyboard is much easier with my banana hands. And the added battery life is insane!

I still recommend the iPhone 8 to anyone looking to make an affordable purchase. Apple typically has really strong hardware quality, but that phone literally had no quality reports of any issues whatsoever, it took about four generations of phones to reach that point, but totally a practical phone that performs excellent with iOS 13.

I loved my 8+. There are time I wish I never traded for a newer phone

The 8 Plus is still a good iPhone. Got it earlier this year with AppleCare and still showing 100% battery life. It'll last another ~2-4 years so maybe replacing when the iPhone 14 or so is introduced.
That is, unless Apple makes future iOS updates that slows down the functionality requiring one to upgrade to a newer model!

Agreed 100%.

And very true regarding the quality issues and performance of the 8/8+.

Funny you mention the 8, due to some personal reasons I just sold my 11 Pro and currently am using an 8. I thought it was going to be a huge step backwards, but I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. This is a great phone, besides the phone screen being on the smaller side, and the battery not lasting as long as I would like (battery health is 99%)it rocks. My only major complaint would be the battery life, but I picked up an Apple Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 7 and I have no more gripes.

Best reception wise iPhone since the 6S, better than the 11 series and SE. Wish i could get a brand new one here.

I always say no, and I always click “pay with Apple Pay” the morning they go on sell. Pretty happy with my 11, but I have a feeling I’ll get reeled in for some dumb reason, even if it’s just on design. Someone commit me please...

Update: I’m completely having second thoughts which is brought to life on last page :p

This is a tough one for me. I have a 7 with a cracked back camera, so I want to upgrade, but as of late I’ve tried to keep my phones for 3-4 years instead of upgrading yearly. Only thing holding me from getting the 12 is no 120hz. I want to keep my phone for 4 years, so 120hz is something I really want, but I don’t know if I can hold onto my 7 for another year with the camera broken. Guess I’ll have to wait and see the keynote.

I was planning to convert to iOS from my Galaxy s9+ with the iPhone 12 pro max, but no 120hz and the delay convinced me to just go and grab an 11 pro max now that the new Apple Watch and iOS 14 are available.

I absolutely love it. The size is perfect for me too. I'll definitely consider grabbing the new pro max next year given that 120hz seems to be more or less confirmed already for it, but could also see myself hanging onto the 11 pro max for a few years and waiting for the eventual under display notchless iPhone too.

For AT&T users, it's been recently proven that their 5G network is actually slower than 4G and you can't tell the phone which network to choose. If it detects a 5G antenna, it'll connect to it whether you want it to or not - and the speeds will be slower than 4G.

So for AT&T users at least, a 5G iPhone 12 will not only not be an upgrade, but will actually be a downgrade in connectivity if you're around 5G networks.
So take that into consideration.

Depends on how fast they are deploying 5g+ but I see your point. I’m hoping carriers are speeding up deployment because of this iPhone

If you want to miss out then that's your business. Apple is raising the bar yet again and I can't wait to see what new innovation they come up with. It's amazing the amount of innovation you get every year, and considering iPhones are basically super computers that fit in your pocket, the price is amazingly affordable.

Good job Apple, keep up the good work.

Basically super computers?? really? Am I dreaming?

I buy at least one iPhone each year so I WILL be buying at least one this year. I’m really hoping the pro Max is the one that only has more 5g bands makes my choices easier but then again if not true I’ll get a pro Max on Verizon and another model on T-Mobile

I will almost certainly be hanging onto my 11 Pro Max. Battery is still 97% capacity and it does everything I need it to do. It's still a fantastic phone a year later.

There is currently no 5G coverage with AT&T where I live at. Plus, since I have been working from home the last six months and will be for the foreseeable future, I don't even use data nearly as much since I am on WiFi all day long.

The LiDAR scanner will be useful I am sure, but I cannot think of many reasons right now that I would have to use it.

The A14 I am sure will, on paper at least, have spec upgrades over the A13. But this is the case every year with a new SoC.

Plus I have only upgraded every 2 years for the past decade. The only time I ever upgraded sooner was when I went from the original iPhone (Feb 2008) to the iPhone 3GS (Jul 2009). Since then, it has been every 2 years. The iPhone 12 would have to really pack some unforeseen and unanticipated technological heat in order to get me to jump. I don't see it happening. I will most likely wait for the 2021 iPhone - whatever it ends up being called.
