So Verizon is now offering $200 off of 11 Pro models. They’re also offering $414 for my iPhone 11 right now. Rough math not including tax, I could get an iPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb for $635. So instead of upgrading my 11 to a 12 model (not a pro) for basically the same price if not higher, I’m seriously considering upgrading to the Pro model I chose not to dish out cash for last time around.

Anyone think that might be a better way to go? 5G has a long way to go, and I don’t see the 12 being a huge upgrade, other than design.

Launch Day XS Max 256 - skipped last year as I wasn't impressed. Have a feeling it will be the same this year. Not a fan of dropping so much money on a device when my current one is just fine. Used to do the yearly cycle, not anymore. It really needs to be a decent change for me to update.

I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I used to upgrade yearly and even monthly when I was an android user. My 11 pro is the first phone I’ve held onto for a full year and it’s been great. I recently purchased an 11 pro max, but ended up sending it back because it just didn’t make sense to drop full retail on a phone I already have minus the screen and battery.

I have a Xs now. So far, none of the rumors have sounded interesting enough to upgrade yet. 5G? Don’t care, I’m on wifi 90% of the time, and LTE never feels slow. Faster processor? Cool, but I never wish the processor was faster. Better camera? Cool, that would be a little better. The only thing I can think of is the U1 chip if they ever release airtags. I guess I’ll wait and see.

I have the iPhone X which I bought on launch day in 2017 and it's the longest I've ever kept a cell phone - ever. I've bought phones pretty much every year (sometimes twice a year) prior to this one.

I likely will not upgrade my iPhone X as it does everything that I need it to do, and with the iOS14 update it still runs smooth.

I have an 11 I got this year so I have no plans to get a 12. I really want my next iphone to have a home button anyways, I'm just not a big fan of the gestures even after many months of using them.

Yikes! This once happened to a friend of mine on his Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, he used it like that for 6 months.

Do you have AppleCare?

Unfortunately I do not. I don’t think I can go to long. A less than perfect screen drives me nuts and the line is crazy bright. I’m gonna go to the Apple store and see how much it costs me to fix but I have a feeling it won’t be worth it.

Still on iPhone 7 Plus and not upgrading ! Will wait for 2021!Lidar don't care,5G don't care , notch don't like but can live with ,probably...I don’t see a big difference on photo quality between iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 11 Pro except night photo.Anyway ,unless there is an improvement on the megapixels and the camera sensor and not just software upgrades no upgrade for me!

Funny, this looks like a trend this year. People are not buying the new iPhone and will wait, and save money. This is according to the responses on this thread. Apple got my money for a couple years in a row on a new upgrades and I felt at the time, what a waste, the other phone did just fine. Now I finally grown up and will not drink the apple Kool-Aid all the time. Just once in a while. o_O

Wait until actual announcement and release. Then it will probably be like MacRumors has experienced a DDOS attack. A lot of threads then would be package tracking and which model and config you preordered.

I was just thinking this
Although I know I am probably not upgrading this year as I feel the 11 Pro Max is such a complete package and I already got an iPad Pro this year, I know that many may change their minds once they see the new phones.

Cannot wait to see what Apple’s major new feature(s) will be. With the 11 Pro it was the Deep Fusion, Wide Angle, Night Mode and Battery jump, that really completed the overall iPhone experience, IMO.

I am hoping the 12 Pro brings something big to besides 5G. I feel like people have been so laser focused on 5G, obsessed with rumors around 120hz display coming or not coming that they may have missed something else that may be bigger.

I went from the X to the 11 Pro Max. Simply needed a larger phone, and I hear that, apart from the A14 chip, the specs on the 12 aren’t much of a leap.
