I have one day left with my iPhone 7 plus before my 14 return period is up. While I've enjoyed the device, I'm thinking about returning it and going back to Android. Everything on the iPhone works well, it's just a bit boring and doesn't wow me like a new phone should. I got to try a Note 7 display today and it was excellent. The form factor, screen, and build quality blew me away. Touchwiz is definitely better than it used to be and everything was smooth while I used it.

Anyway, just curious if anyone else is going back to Android. Let's try not to turn this into an Android vs IOS debate.

Yep, I did. Got a Note 7 .
[doublepost=1475443739][/doublepost]
Yep the Note 7 is definitely a well built portable bomb. Even after replacing the battery it still is exploding and overheating. At least you won't need gloves in the winter. Having had the s7 Touchpizz is still the single worst modded phone OS that was ever created. It slows down an already slow processor.

Actually the replacements aren't having issues. The one in China was never recalled.
[doublepost=1475443990][/doublepost]
I did...exchange the note 7 for the 7+. The note 7 was gorgeous/fast/sexy for the first week, then it started lagging. No help after I wiped the cache partition, reset to factory and I had less than 10 3rd party apps installed.

I have had all the S and the note series and have been using android for yrs.

I sacrifice the customizable of android for the smoothy and boring of iOS :)

BTW my kids love the live photo on the iPhone. They laugh every time I show them their pictures.

Yes, the battery life on the iPhone 7+ can't be beat in real life usage.

Real life usage, Note 7 wins battery life. Don't have apps that suck the power down running.

[doublepost=1475446125][/doublepost]
After owning a note 7 for a little while before it was recalled, I can very confidently say that the iPhone provides just an all-around better experience, at least for me.

Note 7 Pros:
- Better screen
- Better rear camera
- customizable (had mine looking way different than stock the day I got it, with faster animations, a tighter icon grid, etc)
- Water resistant

iPhone 6s Pros:
- Much faster, and it wasn't close. Smoother experience by far.
- Better apps: this is a big deal. Big name apps with thousands of daily users and millions of total downloads are much better on iOS. Android versions are much slower, worse/missing animations, lower quality assets, several versions behind etc. It was very rare that the Android counterpart was better. Anyone going back and fourth between the two OS is going to notice this easily.Frequent app crashes within the first days of the Note 7, an exceedingly rare experience on iOS.
- Better speakers (shower music, alarm clock).
- preferred the front facing photos on the 6S.
- Clearly better battery life. Note 7 charged faster, but only if the screen is off and the 6S plus charged plenty fast with an iPad charger.
- No bloat ware
- Fast, updates with long support. When is the Note 7 getting Nougat? Anybody's guess. And it'll be Touchwizd when it finally gets here likely early next year.
- clearly better fingerprint recognition.

The 7 Plus takes the above advantages and runs with it. Closes the camera gap, has an even better front facer, louder speakers, and water resistance of its own. You can tell Apple payed attention to the cohesiveness between the hardware and software, and it shows in the smoothness and usability in everyday use. Touchwiz is bloated, incoherent and slow in comparison, regardless of how much it has improved. The jank is still very real and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

1) 6s is definitely NOT faster than the Note 7. The iPHone 7 is though.
2) I don't agree as I use both. Apps on Android have gotten much better and work similar with Android actually having more features in the apps.
3) I agree, speaker is better on iPhone.
4) Definitely not. The note 7 lasts much longer.
. Note 7 chargest faster with screen on or off period. Using FAST charge.
5) Some Apps on the iPhone also have advertisements. But there are AT&T or whatever wireless provider apps that is bloatware on Androids. Agreed.
6) Security updates come every month to Android. Maybe once a year for an O/S upgrade, which is about the same for the iPhone.
7) I don't agree. The Note 7 fingerprint is excellent. Much better than my S7 or Note 5. The iPhone 6s does it too fast and I can't see the notifications. IOS 10 fixed that though.

Samsung does not provide a better camera.
They often produced over sharpened detail that caused detail loose and over saturated colors that is completely off from original. There are also focusing and image stabilization problems.
I know some people don't like photo editing and like saturated color out of box, but that doesn't mean its a better camera. It's actually much worse.

It's a common misconception that Samsung provides a better camera, that is just because average people look at the photo on their phone and expect colorful image, and never bother to zoom in to look at real detail.

The camera that provide the best image quality is HTC 10 under manual control, but iPhone 7 provides the best camera from point to shoot experience.

Haha, I use to think the iPhone had the better camera but sorry, I don't agree. I had the 7 plus for a few days, and sent it back. The Note 7, definitely has a better camera. Even though it's colors are a bit more saturated, it is sharper, faster, better low light. Every test out shows it wins over the 7 plus. Also it focus fast unlike the iPhone.
[doublepost=1475446510][/doublepost]
You can't get a note 7 cause there all blowing up even the "safe ones"

And that's coming for a long time android user. I've had 1-7 galaxy s series and 3-5 notes, there all laggy piece of ****. I now have an iPhone 7 which is my first iPhone and I will never go back. This thing never lags and battery life is way better. My galaxy s7 had to be charged 3 times a day.

They are selling them at Best Buy, Verizon, T-Mobile, and some AT&T stores. They are not blowing up. Get your facts right. The China one was never recalled.

Yep just returned my ip7+ last Friday and ended up keeping my Note 7. The ip7+ is a great phone, I don't have anything against it, but it was just not what I needed to be efficient. We've all stated why one phone or another is better for US so I won't restate why the Note 7 just works so much better for me. For my uses the Note 7 completely and soundly trounces the ip7+, but that may differ to someone else. Plus the ip7+ was completely bugged, it would go to "no service" several times per day and I found it not possible to run my business with it, much more of a dealbreaker than any exploding phone. (even though it's not exploding anymore)

Also ignore the teenager like cries of an exploding phone, you can see the pedigree of those people as soon as they type out those words. Try out the Note 7 and see if it's what you like, if not you can always go back to the iPhone. Both tremendous phones which I owned at the same time and got to compare side by side.

Why would I give Samsung another shot? Considering all the ones I had before was a piece of junk? Sorry but tired of giving them my hard earned cash for a lagging pos.

I agree 100% with battery life. SOT is much better on my Note 7 than on my iPhone 7+ and that's with both at max brightness. But the iPhone 7+ still wins with Stand By battery life. Note 7 is pretty close with Stand By though, and that's because of the combination of Doze and App power monitor. Only issue with the Note 7 and other Android phones is, you'll have those once in a while moments when Stand By life is horrible for no noticeable reason, I say once every 3 months this happens to me.

Also Power Saving Mode on the Note 7 extends much more battery life than the iPhone 7+ Low Power Mode. I've had to use them on both phones already.

As much as I love my Note 7 over my ip7+, I have to disagree, but only my specific experiences with 1 of each of these. My ip7+ had much better battery life than my Note 7, no question about it. It's possible that maybe I have a faulty unit, although I've owned 3 Note 7's so far. Stand by battery on the iPhone is sick, turning the phone on 7 hours later and seeing 100% is refreshing.

Operator error most definitely.
Nah there just junk, happy with my new iPhone. I don't see how it could be operator error considering they would lag right out of the box. But you have fun with your junk ass note. Why are you on an Apple forum anyway?

My experience is, when gaming or watching video for hours, I will always end up with more battery life left on the Note 7 than on the iP7+. And it's usually a 20% to 30% difference. Web Browsing(for whatever reason) is a differ story, both are about equal.

Maybe a difference in how we use our phones. For me I'll have Waze open on my morning commute while I make a ton of calls, then it's checking GV, email, texts and taking calls all day, then Waze and phone calls again on commute home. The ip7+ would consistently get much better battery life with this schedule.

The thing with SOT is, it's not just the screen in many cases. In your case it can be the GPS that's much better on battery life with the iP7+ than on the Note 7.

For me, streaming plenty of videos. In my experience the Note 7 has better signal on cellular and wifi. That could be one of many reasons that the Note 7 holds better battery life after streaming a movie or two.

Just guessing though.

True, it could be many different things. Another one I noticed the ip7+ being much better was with streaming music. In the gym I stream internet music (di.fm woo) to my phone, then to Bluetooth headsets for about 1-2 hours, then I'll get on the treadmill or bike and keep my phone screen on displaying my heart rate from my Scosche Rhythym for another 30-60 minutes. The ip7+ is usually around 70% after this, where the Note 7 is closer to 50%. If I also share mobile data with my tablet the difference is even greater.

I do agree the Note 7 has the better signal, sometimes by as much as -20dBm or more. I did fairly extensive testing with both phones in my car side by side and the Note 7 almost always had a significantly better dBm, although neither dropped signal other than the iphone's bug where I get "no service". My commute is all highway though, so coverage isn't really an issue and I'm not in low signal areas which might stress the battery more.

Note 7 also has 600 mAh bigger battery. If you calculate the percentages iPhone comes on top.

But the Note 7 has 2k resolution and is brighter. So it's even again. :p

Besides, people don't care about the x amount of mAh. They care about how long their phone is going to last them in daily usage.

Efective PPI is just little higher and it will be brighter only in direct summer sun. 600 mAh on the over hand is substantial difference.

Yes, the Note 7 reaches peak brightness in direct sunlight, but it's still noticeable brighter than the iP7+ under any conditions.

Umm probably because I've owned every iPhone and other Apple devices. If they were junk they wouldn't be rated the best.

I never called the iPhone junk I'm talking about galaxy's.
I don't think any flagship phone is truly junk this year unless it had a snapdragon 810 from last year but that's another story....all of Samsung's flagships this year have been in no way considered junk and many people have good experiences with them unlike you and your Brady Bunch....

Yes i have...my previous phone was a s7 edge and it was flawless in function..no lag no hiccups...i have a note 7 now for that extra s pen functionality and it also is lag free and does everything I need...plus I also own both iPad pro's and a galaxy tab s2 (no true issues with any of these devices)
