ок It's my birthday today, something completely off topic
Sad really as Apple are now too mainstream to have another Steve Jobs visionary and no doubt it will be a marketing person, and I despair a little that Apple's future may be less bright than it should be if we don't get more visionaries involved.
“I sure have!”Weak interview with clearly pre-approved questions. If Cook was serious he’d go on a real podcast and face some real questions beyond “You’ve made Apple a lot of money. Comment?”
Yup, one of the luckiest men alive. Steve Jobs did all the hard work and all he had to do was keep the troops in line and watch the business grow.
But the good times won’t last without innovation, and I’m sure he’ll jump ship and leave that problem to the next CEO once all the blood is sucked out of the smartphone and services business.

Y’all really hate the idea of diversity lol. I do think a completely radical change would be great.i think its time for whoever suited the role best,. Lets not choose by gender.
Diversity should have nothing to do with it. The most qualified human being for the job should be selected, period.Y’all really hate the idea of diversity lol. I do think a completely radical change would be great.
It’s almost like they are shocked that people here are apple enthusiasts and think highly of the CEO. GOLLY!Yup, it's all just one big walking zombie that is being sucked dry... and yet all of us - including you - are spending our leisure time that we could be spending doing literally ANYTHING ELSE commenting on.... wait for it, MacRumors.
MacRumors, you may have noticed, is an Apple enthusiast site. People who come here are interested and passionate about Apple.
If Apple truly is running on fumes as you suggest, we all - again, including you - must be the sorriest bunch of in-denial suckers in the universe
Is this the case?
Diversity breeds innovation as it breaks the status quo. It’s why Microsoft under bill gates was different under Bakker and especially under nadella.Diversity should have nothing to do with it. The most qualified human being for the job should be selected, period.

Maybe because she would not ask any of the tough questions instead of this fluff pr piece.

I don’t think I made a misogynistic statementWell when you are talented and gorgeous you can.
Please don’t ask misogynistic questions.
Its so beneath you and the forum.
Too much opinion, not enough fact.Steve Jobs was Apple's CEO from 1997-2011. During that tenure we got:
- iMac
- MacBook
- MacBook Pro
- MacBook Air
- Mac Mini
- Mac Pro
- iPod
- iPod Nano (including one that could be worn on the wrist, a Mickey Mouse clock face, integration with Nike shoes and a step counter.)
- iPhone
- iPad
- Final Cut Pro
- Lightroom
- iWork (Pages/Keynote/Numbers)
- iLife (iPhoto/Garage Band/iWeb/iTunes/iMovie/iDVD)
- iCloud
- macOS
- iOS
- Transition from PPC to Intel
- Apple TV
- iOS App Store
- iOS In-App Purchases
- Siri
Tim Cook has been Apple's CEO for nearly as long - over 12 years. Surely he's got a list 80% as long and about as high quality, right?
- Mac Studio
- iMac Pro (no wait, that was already cancelled)
- AirPods
- Apple Watch (no wait, that's just a rebranding of the iPod Nano)
- Transition from Intel to ARM
- AirTag (stalkers rejoice!)
- Air Power (no wait - oops)
- Apple TV+
- Home Pod (basically Siri unchanged from 2011, but now without the benefit of a touchscreen!)
- Acquired Beats
- Apple Pencil (remember how firm Steve was about saying they'd never make a stylus? Tim Cook decided what Steve actually meant was that Apple wouldn't make a stylus that wasn't 20x as expensive as any other.)
Pretty much all of Apple's success during Tim Cook's tenure can be directly attributed to Steve Jobs. The only good things to come from Apple which arguably weren't part of Steve's plans were a few Apple TV+ shows and the transition of the Mac over to ARM. But even those arguably started under Steve.
He died, he didn’t leave.when Jobs left
You can choose when you buy?Is there a succession plan to add some RAM to the useless-level Macs?
Speak for yourself. Who isn’t ’the demographic’?We aren't the demographic for this interview. I think she appeals to youngsters, and they'd be able to relate to the way she speaks and the questions she asks. I found it quite hard to listen to, with her excessive ass kissing and use of the words "like", "I guess" and "kinda".
Being a young, hip, talented singer, I think she massively appeals to Apple’s core (the company ethos rather than the type of tech fans on here, perhaps) - most certainly something that SJ was passionate about.I don’t think I made a misogynistic statement
There are plenty of podcasts hosted by women, on all manner of topics. I even listen to some myself.
I’m just not exactly sure what the BBC saw in Dua Lipa to offer her a show. It seems to be well marketed and well funded not something she’s DIY’ing in her spare time. She’s not exactly known for her journalism as far as I’m aware so it seems like an odd choice.
Bit harsh saying it was a misogynistic question.Well when you are talented and gorgeous you can.

I can see why she has a podcast- she's hugely popular. I absolutely wouldn't want to listen to another podcast by her again, though.I don’t think I made a misogynistic statement

Sometimes it's nice to have a more human conversation. Than have to answer yet another question about AI, why iPhone 15 had a rough launch, or what he'll do to fix mac sales.Of all the people to sit down with why her? He’d be better off with…well…a journalist…ideally from a tech background like Zoe Thomas or Mark Gurman.
I believe her primary demographic are teenage girls. I mean no offence to teenage girls that post here.?
