Joining the groupe that did not know... but any way good for him:)
Now Tim, just get back to running apple, we are still waiting for a regular tv... i mean a reinvented regular tv;)
Oh and what ever is going on with aperture/photo just don't screw up on that

Change the apple logo to a banana since the apple represents Adam and eve please.

Ignorant. _That_ apple that you are talking about doesn't represent Adam and Eve. It represents temptation, and being thrown out from paradise.

The apple in Apple's logo actually represents nothing else than an apple orchard, because that's the place where Steve Jobs was when he came up with the name for the company. (There were rumours that it had something to do with Newton and an apple falling on his head inspiring him to find the laws of gravity, but that was quite a while later).

I mean it's all good and well being prejudiced, homophobic, and the lot. But if you want to make snide remarks, please make clever snide remarks that don't insult our intelligence.

He's an ok CEO, and for a few yet as there have been some speculations of his orientation, so for me this changes nothing about my opinion about him. Now other people who didn't know this will be shocked and want to not support Apple at all anymore. As long as he keeps on working at Apple and stays "single" then everything will be ok (probably doesnt have time for a relationship, and I hope he doesn't)

The TL;DR Version:

Good CEO, pretty much knew this, as long as no relationship, everything is good

Pretty sure any bigot who would refuse to buy Apple products because of the CEO's sexual orientation isn't someone Apple would want as a customer in the first place.

And what's the big deal if he's in a relationship? I hope he gets married and adopts a child just to piss off the bigots even more.

It is a FAIRY tale when someone comes out lol

Well, the difference is, we have proof of Tim Cook coming out. There is zero proof that your stupid little book has a shred of truth to it.

I really couldn't give a damn about what people do in their private lives, but it's sad that Apple is now being used to push and promote a gay agenda. Cook should have just shut the hell up and leave his bedroom preferences out of discussion.
How about we discuss technology ? Stick to the point.

Nothing like a thread about someone being gay to bring out the caveman attitudes at MacRumors.

I really thought he was "out" considering there were so many articles about him being gay when he took over at Apple. Plus the awesome Snagglepuss voice.

I hope the stock doesn't see a negative reaction when it shouldn't.

Good for you Tim.

Though I do hate the everyone wants to know mentality these days and wish public people could keep it private. I believe it's their right.

Ok so he's gay, and? I don't see the need for anyone to come out as gay, it shouldn't matter, I didn't have to come out as straight. I've had 3 good friends in my life come out to me and each time each time I've told them that I didn't care if they were gay or not, as long as they're happy

You think it's only ok as long as he doesn't have a relationship? WTH does that part matter? You think it's ok for him to be feel gay as long as he doesn't act gay?

Gay agenda? You mean having the same rights as everyone else? And the right to not be fired because of you who love? Yeah, what a scary agenda that is!

It must be so difficult seeing the world evolve with respect to gay rights while being stuck in the 1950s. I imagine it's similar to how my racist grandfather felt during the civil rights era.

No it's not. Skin color is preset and an obvious fact. This is a mindset and some mindsets can be detrimental.

1. Being gay has nothing to do with a "mindset".
2. I agree that we have seen some very detrimental mindsets posting here.

Being a gay is normal?

Of course it is. Why do you have a whole prefrontal cortex in your brain if it is not to use it to override your biological programming ?
Did you rape your wife? No, you asked her nicely. Because you used your cortex to override what is natural. Did you leave your wife after two years, as per your biological programming? Nope, because you chose the unnatural path of humanity. Do you kill everyone that annoys you? No, because you're making the choice to ignore your natural programming in favor of the unnatural laws of society.

Being human is being unnatural. Being gay is unnatural, as are most of our behaviours. So, yes, it is normal, it's a testament to humanity having evolved past our base biological programming...

So is sex with animal is normal as well?

Well, it is legal in some countries. But you can't compare homosexuality and bestiality.
For one thing, bestiality is purely sexual were homosexuality is emotional - most people can take pleasure in same sex intercourse, but it takes an homosexual to get emotionally involved in the long term.
But homosexuality, like all legitimate human relationships, demands consent. Animal can't give consent, so bestiality is a form of rape.

Homosexual is not normal, it goes beyond nature.

Yup. It's beyond nature. Like curing cancer, like space travel, like computers...

Good news for the fight for equality!

BUT:

How about APPLE treats the minority of mac mini lovers with a little more respect?

Many people have known he is gay for a long time but I am proud that Tim Cook has now publicly acknowledged the truth. There now is no speculation. As a person who is bisexual, I can understand his views and why he felt it was important to do so desire not being obligated to do so. Apple is a big company that many people have come to follow and this news might not change everyone's mind on equality but it does show everyne, gay or straight, that your sexuality doesn't define you.
